Yes.

Yes.

Graal, Paladin, Hurricane, M98 Widow and Kishok.
I LOVE one shot snipers, but on this game (GOLD) shield gate kills it!
Is awful not to be rewarded with a very beauty headshot on gold.
ME3 Multi is shotgun paradise.

1. I think there is a good variation, diffrent handling/bullets etc.
2. There are some guns that fit all levels, some more then others though.
3. At the moment I like:
-Just recently the falcon, awesome stagger (bit low on dmg but a level X fixes that a bit);
-Black widow, just a plain good sniper;
-Claymore, the more heads pop the better;
- scorpion, tried it a while ago again and it seemed a lot better
- alot more, but these stand out a bit above the rest.

Guess thats about it...

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

Yes. Though some could use a little attention.
I'd like to see the automated weapons getting a bonus against shields/barriers to make them more viable on gold

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"
Yes. The common weapons fill a good role, especially at bronze. Uncommon weapons are good at all difficulties. Considering all weapons there is a wide selection available to fit all playing styles.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?"
Tempest with AP ammo.
People will probably call me crazy but I love that light SMG.
(Problem is I don't always have the AP ammo to use it)

I'm probably a weirdo for this, but I love the Avenger in this game, so much better than ME2. It's not gold-worthy or anything, but it's no longer a öh, new assault rifle, melt this into omni-gel"kind of gun, ha. Love the Phaeston too, low punch but big clip and accuracy is great. I like the Kishock because it looks and feels like a ghetto sniper rifle like the Batarians would have.

1. Yes the range of weapons to choose from is decent.
2. I think the medium range weapons (ie. assault rifles) niche, has been overshadowed but the "one hitter quitters" pistols and shotguns that go above and beyond there role on the battlefield. Weapons like shotguns should not outrange an assault rifle (looking at you geth shotgun), and pistols held in one hand should not do more damage than large assault rifles (paladin/talon). It made more sense when the best guns in the game were assault rifles used by soldiers than casters carrying small cannons.

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

Sure but current weapons need some tweaks

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"

Somewhat. Automatic ARs need help for gold performance. Other than that, yes.

Favorite gun has got to be the valiant. second is a tie between mattock and GPS. Tempest gets an honorable mention as I still use it on casters on gold.

I think there's a nice selection of weapons to choose from, but more are always welcome. Especially Batarian ones.

Favorite weapon by far is the Kishock, despite all your attempts to make me hate it.

Yes there is a selection but I am not sure it is sufficient or not, can be more.

What my favorites are:

N7 Hurricane; for my adepts and vanguards, with the relevant gear or equipment it is awesome on any range.

Cerberus Harrier; for my soldiers, just having so much fun using this, accuracy is awesome. Downside is the ammo capacity but I can understand why. Just don't nerf it more.

Black widow; for my infiltrators, just awesome. Lately I was using krysae instead of this but I think bw is a much better weapon if you can use it (or have it). Also I don't have the Valiant, I hear it is very nice.

GPS: for my geth engineer, Krogan or batarian anything.

Honorable mentions: n7 eagle, carnifex, paladin, eviscerator, krysae, widow

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?" Yes

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?" Qualified yes. SMGs are presently lacking as ULM is bugged. Fix ULM and an SMG will be a viable side-arm.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?"
Claymore, Geth Plasma Rifle, Harrier

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

There are many weapons to choose from, this is true, but the strength of each weapon tends to minimize the range of choice on higher difficulties. It seems that there is a small number of weapons (compared to the overall armory) that are truly viable on higher difficulty levels. More weapons, and weapon buffs, are always, always, always welcome.

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"

For higher difficulties, I feel that there is a set number of weapons that players trend towards. Weapons like the Valiant, Black Widow, Krysae, Reegar, and Harrier seem a cut above the rest in terms of damage output, and frankly, the game could do with more weapons like them, even going so far as to buff existing weapons to comparable levels; as it stands, each weapon is decent in bronze-difficulty matches, but as the difficulty ramps up, many weapons simply are not an option, which is a shame because it creates copy-paste character and weapon builds and smothers variety.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?"

I love the Cerberus Harrier, but wish it had a larger ammunition reserve. I also enjoy using the Geth Plasma Shotgun, Krysae, Falcon, Talon, and Valiant. If I had to pick a clear favorite though, I would have to hand it to the Harrier, which has replaced the Mattock in all rifle-centric characters I use.

Yes, there are a wide variety of weapons, however, some of the weapon concepts (automatic sniper rifles, for example) are not very effective, and thus see little use. Improvements to them, or addition of higher effectiveness types, would be a nice touch.

Yes, the Carnifex and Paladin weapons can fill a wide variety of niches without the need of changing loadouts or style. They work well at pretty much any range you'll find enemies in, and there's not really a skill gap to it. Also there is the Harrier, but that is compensated for by the inferior ammo count.

Personally, I'm a M-76 man, even though its missing most of its punch per bullet, and its accuracy took a dive, I still love it for what it was, even if it's not much gold-viable without using on overclocker such as the Turian Soldier or HS. Other than that, the Incisor is nice (wish it'd turn black with the lv 5 AP mod though) and the M-90 Indra is cool too. But honestly, if it ever arrives, I'll be using the Valkyrie. It's a lovely weapon.

No, there are no decent Assault Rifles for high difficulty levels. The Cerberus Harrier might be the exception but it is to hard to unlock. A stronger Phaeston that is only rare would be really nice.

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"

I think there are more weapons than niches.  I use 75% of the weapons never or at most once. Despite the large number of weapons Biotic Power users are restricted to heavy pistols and SMGs because everything else is too heavy.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?"

Carnifex, Geth Plasma Shotgun, N7 Valiant, Phaeston, Tempest

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

Yes. Though I would love to see more of the "special" weapons that behave differently from normal hitscan stuff. Stuff like the Reegar, Graal, and Scorpion come to mind. Would like to see more of the rapid fire/low damage weapons become common and competative in gold too, but it seems we already move in that direction a little each week.

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"

Mostly yes. I feel like short range/melee, and control/stagger niches could use a little more variety, but they do currently have some guns to fill those roles.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?"

Graal Spike Thrower. Fell in love with it in SP because of the sound. I like that it rewards potentially difficult long range shots with high damage. And it leaves spikes in their head when there's a head left! ^_^

Yes there is a good range of weapons.

Yes they seem to work for all levels and cover most niches/styles

Fav? Striker (would be collector rifle if I could level it up)

The thing for me that could do with expanding is the use of heavy weapons. Missiles are cool, but the range of sexy heavy weapons in ME2/3 are getting short changed. Change missile capacity to 'power cells' and give us flamers, cains, the cryo thing, arc projector, etc. I want the M-490 Blackstorm!

My questions this time around are:

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"
(e.g. - From low: "Give this weapon to the rookie so he doesn't hurt him/herself or anyone else for that matter" to High: "This weapon makes things go away just by its mere presence on the battlefield", and everything in between)

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?" I am not asking which you think is the "best", only which one do you simply like to play with most of all.

Cheers!

Yeah there is a nice range of weaponry. I'd like a few more shotguns but hey :)

I guess. Struggling to find a good weapon for my Vanguard, but I haven't tried the Disciple yet. Scimitar isn't bad. I still like some of the lower weapons like the Avenger and Pheaston.

Favourite weapon is probably the Pheaston atm. It's such a great auto weapon. Pretty light weight too so great for casters. Honestly, I hate the pistol weapon handling, it feels really awkward for me. Hence I've never used pistols. I'd much prefer an AR/Shotgun to do my killing with :) I still use the Katana a lot too.

It disapoints me that everyones favourite weapons are obviously the best weapons :(

I. I do believe there is a nice range of weaponry to choose from. My only problems with this is that, as many can agree, SEVERAL weapons lose their "edge" as difficulty rises. This problem is mostly relevant on Gold. In my honest opinion, it's not a weapon diversity problem. It's mechanics. Automatic weapons are severely outclassed by semi-autos for a plethora of reasons im sure I don't have to reiterate. Flat armor reduction also plays a part in this turning most autos and SMG's into pea-shooters.

Another thing, would it be possible to allow Javelin to ignore shieldgate? It's an Ultra-Rare and aside from aesthetics there's almost no reason to use it over the Widow, let alone a BW or Valiant for that matter. Most of it's chunky damage goes to waste on cannon-fodder making it an exclusive boss-killer.

My last request is that you add headshot damage multipliers back for the Kishock only on bosses. This was a good niche weapon that good players could take advantage of (on host) and added diversity to the weapons pool without being "OP". I understand that it was a bug, but I'd be more than appreciative if it allowed critical shots at atleast 150% value over the prior 300%.

II. I do feel that there are enough weapons that fill each niche and level, but it'd be refreshing to have something different. I'm not too sure how hard it'd be to implement, but some type of stationary LMG that can only be used on a standstill (or allows for a teammate to carry the ammo threshold similar to Gears Of War 3's Vulcan Minigun) would be really cool. Aside from that, in an attempt to extend the longevity of the game, I'd add 5 more weapon level upgrades or some type of Ultra-Rare mods/characters.

III. Right now, I love the Reegar. For reasons other than solid dps, it brings back some nostalgic memories from Metroid Prime's Phazon Beam. I also thought it was really cool to have some type of "electric projector" weapon so I value the aesthetics aswell. I enjoy the Claymore, Harrier, Saber (seriously, best sounding gun?), GPS, and many of the Snipers and Pistols. Sadly, I don't use, nor do I like any SMG's. I feel they need a serious overhaul in general. I understand that they're sidearms, but they still feel lackluster. Hurricane is nice, but I like my bullets to hit where I aim.

If the automatic weapons didn't have recoil or had a lot less recoil, I would say yes. But as it stands, it is more difficult to use those weapons than single or triple shot guns. Also, the way armor works, it behooves the player to use said single or triple shot weapons.

So, no. I would not say there is enough variety amongst the weaponry for every situation.

Black Widow, Claymore, Krysae, Talon, & Paladin are the only weapons I use on a regular basis. Everything else requires using equipment or classes that I don't like.

Mostly, could be more^^ Like a rarer version of each type^^

Mostly, some guns are great in their concept and design but are nowhere worthwhile to be taken on higher level (vindicator, gpr, both need hunter mode and equipment/gear buffs and still blow)

The favorite weapon of mine is the revenant, its sounds, how it shakes around and kicks like a mule, staggers many enemys when hit. It feeds my inner ork going on a waaagh :D

Other guns i like mostly because of their sounds or style, some are the junk of the armoury, some are jewels tho:
phaeston, vindicator, viper, raptor, graal, gps, hurricane, eagle, scimitar, talon, javelin, incisor, kishok

A gun i can see to love but i will never get with my nonexisting luck and the stupid store, harrier and saber

Overall i think some guns could need some more love, some of them would be great if it could get a upgraded rarer version of itself (like mattock->harrier), some are fine where they are, and one needs autoaim taken away, that ruins my aim (gps^^)

*edit*
A little addition to the  list of guns which style i love and still dont have, crusader, its nicely different and could fill the gap of the hard hitter i need for my revenant builds

Yes, if you don't mind getting kicked for "weighing down the team" with "bad" weapons (read: 60-90% of weapons).
Yes. Carnifax, many other pistols. And no, that's not a good thing.
Javelin. Barring impracticalness due to shield gate, this weapon looks cool, sounds cool, is nice for showing off your luck, and its backstory is fairly cool too. Plus the amount of damage it can optimally do is cool, too.

Hello Derek, thanks for the questions !

Derek Hollan wrote...

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

Yes. However, there are many weapons that are "out-of-reach", meaning they are hard to obtain. I play maybe ~1 or 2 hours a day and have been playing since May 14th. I still have to unlock some rares and most ultra-rares.

Derek Hollan wrote...

Probably. I can't tell for sure but the common weapons do their job of providing something to the beginners.
Looks liks some rares are pretty useless though (Kishock ? Revenant ?) and many people say that Assault Rifles are useless compared to most decent SMGs (except for Harrier). I can't say for sure but I switched from Avenger X to Tempest II only to discover the latter was a much better deal.

Derek Hollan wrote...

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?" I am not asking which you think is the "best", only which one do you simply like to play with most of all.

Depends on the build. Today, I would say :
* Tempest for SMGs. Haven't been able to test the highly praised Hurricane though.
* Phalanx is a great Heavy Pistol ; I'd like to compare Phalanx X to Carnifex X but still have to level them up. Predator is awesome for beginners until they unlock advanced levels of Carnifex/Phalanx.
* As for shotguns, I love the Scimitar but haven't tested all of them.
* Sniper Rifles : don't know.

Overall, I would probably go with the Tempest but it's not very versatile unless you use the appropriate mods (go take down an Atlas on Silver/Gold with a Tempest ; it takes ages).
