"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

Yup, though potentially ARs are lacking somewhat. Almost every other weapon type has a bit more variety than them with weapons that benefit from multiple styles of play.

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"

Yup, there is a weapon for almost every build.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?"

Close call, i'd probably say Black Widow though, it just feels the most satisfying to use. Reegar and Saber are the runner-ups

Yes. Anything that wasn't covered by weapons is compensated by abilities and melee attacks.
Scimitar.

Yes, but does't mean I wouldn't like more.
Yes, but more is always welcome.

Valiant, probably the harrier when I get it as I love automatic assault rifles like the Avenger.

1 - yes theres a good range but too little of it is viable the smgs are a good example of this alot of choice but very little viable choice

2 - yes and no its got alot but i think the game is still lacking a few things full auto shotgun, high end burst weapons for example seem like obvious missed weapons

3 - Harrier - i love this gun its pretty much completly changed how i play the game, i just wish my asari could scrath the cerverus logo of the side of it

The weapons as a whole provide a good selection to choose from. I feel that the snipers though are a class above everything else. Mantis, Valiant, Indra, Widow, Krysae, Black Widow... are all excellent. However, the SMG's are lacking. Nothing about them is enticing at all.

Assault rifles and shotguns I'd say are even on a more balanced scale so to say. I use shotguns a lot because they're my favorite to use and they're great guns right off the bat, upgrading them is simply making them even more awesome than they already are. Where as some rifles you have to upgrade them before they're even useful. Shotguns are the best for heavy hitters; GPS, Wraith, Claymore, Reegar.. Where as the AR's like the SMG's in comparison. Going up against the shotguns, there's nothing enticing about the AR's at all at level 1.

The pistols are just fine IMO. Even the M3 Predator X is useful.

My favorite would have to be the Wraith though. Just got it about a week ago and I've played with nothing else since. Wraith + Krogan = <3

There is an adequate range, but there are some weapons that aren't really useful per se (as in, you can use them, but there are better weapons for specialization.

Examples include but are not limited to:

Crusader (good but usually can find a more specialized weapon)

SMGs in general (usually a OHP is better, exceptions abound)

Incisor (good in theory. Hard to use well in practice. Many options that are better/ easier in practice.)

Shotguns in particular has nuances that I think few people pick up on. I went from Disciple through Scimitar to Katana just to get the right "feel" for my GI Shotfiltrator IIRC... or was that my Kroguard?

Having said that, I believe there is a need for some additional weapons that have niche application. The Falcon comes to mind as a very good weapon that doesn't do much damage, but is tremendously useful. The Krysae, as much as I dislike it, also brings variety in.

In addition, perhaps it's time to think of putting in some "backup piece" weapons, something that doesn't look like the class it belongs in but serves to give the user a alternative backup. I practically run with only one weapon for CD purposes, and ease of use. Having a weapon in for example the SMG slot that is lightweight and fills in a particular niche might be interesting.

Moving on.. Favourite by class.

SR: Favourites are Valiant and Viper, with the usual suspects (BWidow, Mantis). Viper in front for now for its capabilities, until I can level my Valiant further.

AR: Harrier, Falcon. Falcon toes in for its versatility.

SMG: None really.

Shotgun: Scimitar, surprisingly. Katana comes close.

Pistol: Paladin, Carnifex, Phalanx. Right now is Phalanx but if I can get the Paladin up, I suspect that would be favourite.

Wide assortment but the really underpowered get ignored: Locust, Phaeston, GPR

Each weapon class has 1-2 standouts that make the others irrelevant

Black Widow/ Harrier equally

1: there are a lot of weapons, but a lot of them fill the same roles or they are equally mediocre or bad.

2: I have trouble finding good medium range automatic weapons that deal good damage. In real life, those would be SMGs and ARs, but on ME3 MP gold difficulty, there seems to be a lack of that. Personally, I end up using shotguns because of that. Shotguns are great up close, and are still okay at medium. At far distances, I usually end up using powers or just wait for them to get closer.

3: Eviscerator. Because it's powerful, has a good 3 shot clip, and it's the 2nd lightest shotty in the game (along with Scimitar). I end up using it about 70% of the time on any class that isn't a sniper.

Pretty Good: But I think there's room for quite a few more. SMG and AR especially need some love.

No: Yes there are a range of powers to the weapons but perhaps a lack of uniqueness about some of them and as above, SMG and AR are in general too weak.

Falcon: Different playstyle, and wonderful stagger inducing.

I'd like to see more things like grenade launchers that fire in an arc. No zoom perhaps but a choice of grenades on Rmouse. Smoke? Electric? Explosive? Glue? (sticking enemies in place) Grease? (knockdown effect) etc etc.... I think you've done well with making a mix of hitscan and projectile weapons for shotguns, but definitly room for more variety and odd/unique weapons as well as more SMG and AR.

Yes to AR, SR, Shotguns. No to HP ( Paladin/Talon/Carnifex >>> others)
Yes, mostly.
The Falcon is my favorite weapon. Just because it's hard to master and insanely good if mastered.

Thanks for the poll :)

I would like to have in MP couple of SP exclusive weapons, but besides that, yes, I think we have a good amount of weapons to choose from, at least for now.

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"

I think every weapon in good hands can be mortal.

But obviosly there are weapons powerful than others.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?"

Claymore.<3

1. I guess there is. The SMGs could use a little more variation.

2. There is a weapon for every niche, but there is not a niche for every weapon.

3. The Harrier, that thing is awesome, though I wouldn't mind some extra ammo and a little less weight.

Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?
I think there are enough weapons for now

Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?Depends on the niche. Some guns fill thoes niches better than others.

With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?" I am not asking which you think is the "best", only which one do you simply like to play with most of all.
For me it comes down to a few guns. I use the saber, viper, krysae, scorpion, talon, falcon, hurricane, indra, diciple, gps, harrier, mattock, reeger.

Yes..

My favorite(s) are Indra (just plain fun to use), Mantis and Krysae (don't care what others say, its fun to use too), Phalanx, Mattock is a good overall assault rifle (Harrier if I had it I imagine), Disciple (only shot gun I can safely handle) and I can't find a good SMG

Yes, but some of them are very redundant imo.

1+2: Theoretically the answer would be yes/yes. However due to mechanics like armor damage reduction, the in theory wide selection of guns reduces itself to just a very limited number of (on Gold) really good usable weapons. Therefore I see a good range of available, but not really viable weapons.

3: My favorite overall weapon would thus be the Harrier as one of the very few decent rapid fire weapons.

I'm pretty satisfied with the range of weaponry available. Each of the 5 weapon slots has at least one weapon that has some crossover elements, like the Talon, Eagle, Crusader, Raptor, Indra, etc.

Guns like the Falcon, Reegar Carbine, Graal Spike Thrower, Geth Plasma Shotgun, Scorpion, Kishock Harpoon Gun, Revenant each have unique mechanics that favor re-playability.

The recent weight reduction for the Scorpion is very, very strong. I can carry it on a drell adept to deal with phantoms and hunters in the open. During the savage weekend, I used it along with a Mattock X for U/U/G with the Krogan Soldier, Krogan Sentinel and Batarian Soldier - the Scorpion being a versatile weapon that staggers phantoms and groups of closing geth hunters and pyros. The stagger is very powerful paired with grenades.

Favorite gun is one of the Scorpion, Talon, Claymore, Carnifex, Disciple or the Reegar Carbine.

What I would like to see more of are race specific guns for mild roleplay purposes. I'm talking guns like the Disciple, Arc Pistol, Graal Spike Thrower, Kishock Harpoon Gun, Phaeston, etc.
