Math-wise, can one get enough EMS/War Assets to reach the 4000 or 5000 mark to unlock the breath scene even though they lost either the Quarians or Geth fleet?

Without mp or apps? You couldn't do it at all. The new magic number is 3100 with the EC.

Unless they really did change the endings, reaching that level won't matter anyway, the Geth will still die because Catalyst decides to be a punk and not be as target-specific with Red Space Magic as he is with Blue Space Magic.

Honestly, as I was hitting "submit", it occurred to me that the Geth die anyway.....smh....
I just remember in my first playthru (with the Shep in my profile pic), I got the Quarians killed. And at the time, i had a very low GR, like 60 or 61. And I only got the half-good destroy option.
I also bring it up because alot of fans keep saying "they changed the central conflict from kill the reapers to end the war between synthetics and organics but I did that". I'm a bit intimidated by the BSN consensus that everyone solved the conflict or at least saved the Quarians, like we all agreed on it in some secret pow-wow.
