I support the 6/6/6/4/4 build. You really don't lose much power damage, although the extra HP isn't the end all either.

You will lose 45 damage on Incinerate according to the ME3 character builder without the 15%.

yeah, now add that 45 to the 50% addtional damage over time, and the 50% extra to armor. it's admitedly not that high, but it's a lot better than a bit more shields/health.

6/6/6/5/3 is the answer.
About Drone evo 6, rocket: Yes, why can't we install a geth upgrade?

64664 on one engineer and 66644 on the other. One rocks a shotgun the other a pistol.

For the male I skipped Incinerate. Just don't bring him to Reaper gold matches and he's fine; if there's an armored target and a biotic is hitting it, wait till after they BE to OL, otherwise keep drone up and lay into it w/ ur wpn. Drone is specced detonate, shock, chain lit. W/ chain OL you can get upto 3 TBs per drone explosion- w/o ammo powers. or help from teammates. Add in the high aggro ability of a detonate evolve and you got excellent crowd control and aoe dmg. This build just absolutely messes w/ phantoms, and I luv that.
Female I went more conventional- max powers, half fitness, half training. Also specced rocket drone this build.. not really impressed w/ it (dmg potential is good on bosses, AI is retarded and def can't pull attention usually). Incinerate is.. eh, okay, but mostly just anti-Reaper. Prob gonna change the build if I get a respec card.

You really don't want your rocket drone pulling attention, it does great as a fire and forget kind of mobile turret, just cast it at the beginning of the firefight and it spams 700+ damage rockets every 3 seconds while you fire off powers like normal. Things usually work much better when i don't have to recast drone every other cooldown.

Yes and no. Even if you spec rockets, you do sometimes wish it could distract for ur team, and by speccing that way it almost never will, so you give up valuable control for a bit more dmg- the dmg better be good and reliable.. and its not really. The worst part about its AI is just its tendency to not adjust for obstacles in its line of fire. That's the main reason I'm speccing out of it. I'm tired of going back to where the drone was hanging out, and see its pinned itself behind a corner and rendered itself useless for the last half minute or w/e.

And the explosive drone is meant to die fast- thats the point. The explosion is the best part of it. It more than makes up for the maintenance- just keep a loadout close to 200% and ur gtg. If you want a true lasting distract drone, you get the shield evolves, but then you give up some aoe and control potential. I like the power cause of that, you can choose to evolve it to fit ur needs, but none of them is 'the best' it just depends what you want from it. Personally, I'm sticking w/ the fragile splosion drone, its served me very well so far in random golds and is quite fun, but to each his/her own.

Combat drone is the raison d'etre for a human engineer. It doesn't really get many kills but works great to hold down whole mobs (when specced for detonate, stun, chain). I invariably get the 50 assists medal when using the human engineer. The combat drone also works great to distract banshees. The few seconds she spend trying to hug it will give you time to blast her into blue vapor.

I wasn't happy with Incinerate (I found it underwhelming), so now I just use Overload and equip Disruptor Ammo if I'm playing Gold. Plenty of survivability, thanks to Fitness and Drone, and plenty of offense due to weapons, Overload, and tech bursts.

6/6/6/5/3 or 5/6/6/5/4. Shock and detonate is where it's at with the new drone. Chain lightning is nice, but it's okay to dump it if you really want that extra level in fitness. Personally, I just slap on a stronghold pack.

Human Male Engineer, running a 6/0/6/6/6 setup and it's honestly my go-to class for Gold and my favourite class to play as. Specced my Combat Drone for increased Damage and Shields as well as Missiles at Lvl 6 and it's fantastic. I constantly get top of the table as well, so something's working out.
