Bioware, please tweak Reave to stagger Phantoms

Well you can stagger Hunter with Reave no problem. That gives you half a second to throw some clusters or run. And while Hunters have their own bugs and cheap ways, Phantom is even more cheap.

The point of a class based game is that not everyone can deal with every situation with equal effectivness.

Reave does things none of those things can do.  What's your point?  It doesn't do everything?

Reave does things none of those things can do.  What's your point?  It doesn't do everything?


It doesn't give you a window to set up anything on your own. You don't have to time cluster them, you don't have time to run, you get shot mid-cartwheel. 

Point is - almost EVERY biotic ability is USELESS on Phantoms. You can't detonate them, your team can't detonate them. Reave has DOT damage - true. But in those 6 seconds the Phantom wll palm blaster you no problem.

Infiltrators can. Asari Adept can deal with almost all things equally effectively.

So when was the last time you detonated them with Warp - Throw?  Not using Stasis to set up warp? Oh yeah. That happens once every 10 games.

Infiltrators are scheduled to nerf now, AA was OP, now it's still good, but not too good, stasis has long cooldown and limited use.

Only a second longer than Reave. But you can Stasis 2 Phantoms at once. Infiltrator damage nerf will still allow them to do everything.

I know how to deal with Phantoms. But they force you into cliche loadouts. 


With Reave?  Lol. Just spam reave.  They can't block it, and you can just take cover when it's on cooldown.


Right. Your'e a genius. I never thought of that. Probleme is that they still run at you full speed, you can't detonate them and as soon as you move out of cover to retreat they shoot you. 

Look, I play Gold and people who know me, know that I'm not a scrub and I can handle myself. 

It's just boring to always take GPS, Scorpion or Falcon. 




Honestly, not every load out is going to be good against all enemy types.  With the exception of freaking Infiltrators, some types have their weaknesses against certain other enemy encounters.  

Personally when I play a weak class vs a Phantom (or rather a class that is weak against a phantom) I can get one ability off (in your case reave) and then I either quit firing till someone else either kills them or takes their attention or if I am not in a situation where that is possible then I blind fire.  For whatever reason I get far less bullets to my face not holding down my right mouse button and just firing using the default reticle.  This generally will force her to take cover if you have enough distance between you.  If you don't your best bet is to run, which doesn't always work out.  

I mean if you truly play gold, and are pretty good, you have to understand that Phantoms aren't nearly that bad.  Occasionally they can be ultra frustrating in their ability to melt your face at any range.  But also, almost as often you just stack your reave then lol as they hide behind cover and die.  

The only mob who will charge me super recklessly that I have issues with is Hunters.  Phantoms flip and try and evade as much as they do anything else.  Just got to force them to do it.

Infiltrators can. Asari Adept can deal with almost all things equally effectively. 

Infiltrators are on the chopping block because of that.

Do you not have other team members who are focused on the phantoms too? It sounds like you are trying to take them on by yourself.

It's annoying how psychic they are. If you have "brackets" around them - they know your EVERY move. If you don't they are dumb as a sack of bricks. But the game MAKES you target them.

You had them targeted? Sorry - 8 clusters to the face won't do anything. You didn't? Well one will send her flying out of the map. Makes sense. Gotta disable the targeting. It's not helping. And just spam clusters.

1. Stack Reave on Phantom
2. Shoot something else
3. Dead Phantom

Bonus points if you put a Warp Bubble next to your cover and aim at her - she'll almost always just stand there, slowly dying from Reave - if she does approach? Reave when she enters the bubble and she'll probably be ready for that single footshot to kill her :P

Yeah. It's rare to get 2 stacks on a Phantom whe she is shooting you non stop. And hitting you non stop. Not to mention other enemies. 

I mean Ballistic Blades stagger them and can be spammed just like Reave. And they do more damage. And prevents from OHK. And sets up melee. 


You cannot stack Ballistic Blades, nor does it cover as large an area as Reave, nor can it be fired across the entire map from cover.

I can get a few stacks on Phantoms fairly reliably on Gold - they tend to stick together so each Reave hits them all - killing 3 at once from Reave is always fun.

Yeah. So why Stasis works on them? Exactly. They already have too much going for them. Damage, invinsibility, OHK. 

Maybe that's because they don't have armor?
