Banshees are far far worse in my opinion.

Did you notice the wave Phantoms appear ? In silver it's Wave 7. Atlases, Brutes, Banshees, Geth Primes appear much sooner. This means Phantom is supposed to be the BIGGEST THREAT of the damn game. In fact I wish they had armor so they wouldn't be anhihilated by Stasis.

So DEAL WITH IT.


I have another idea!
I can state that they are overpowered in comparison to every other mob in the game and not deal with it!
I like my idea more than yours.

i hope they dont listen to the OP because i highly disagree....phantoms make the game frustrating, yet fun and interesting....when you hear 'Phantom!' yelled out by either a player or a character in the game, it makes you stay on your toes and have your skills sharp, so you dont end up on the wrong end of her sword....the same goes for banshees, and all the geth...no seriously, all the geth, especially those super rocket troopers lol....

another point: i dont understand this board...yall complain the weapons arent strong enough...bw listens, makes them stronger...then yall complain the game is easy....bw listens, and makes the enemies harder....yall then complain the enemies are too hard....what is it yall want? cause it seems yall want an easy game with super weapons and push over enemies....i hope bw doesnt listen to yall cause i for one dont want that...and i personally know others that dont want that either....

You have rockets. If four of them come for you, you're somehow unable to run and cover, or otherwise they've passed the limit where you know you can take them down or avoid them, fire at will! That's it. If you don't have the class/weapon/skill to handle something, there's still the skill of getting that BOOM happening. Too many fail in that respect.

Also, pay attention. Even with their über abilities, Phantoms usually go down just fine. The bigger killer, indirectly, from my observations are Guardians: Many take time to kill for those without piercing, even aiming for slot takes a little bit more time than a normal head-shot. Time spent leads to Guardians and other enemies close in, including indeed Phantoms who'll say "thank you" and go for the stab. Get rid of the Guardians quickly or change target even if they're still alive, and take a look for other things incoming. Spot those Phantoms while they're still too far to cause trouble and you can engage or move to a better location at will ;-) The second killer seem people so absorbed with Phantoms (including those handled by others) that they fail to see the troopers emptying clips at them. Again, pay attention, and my guess is that while Phantoms are dangerous, they're usually far from the threat people make them out to be.

Like it all you want, it's a bad idea.  They are never going to rebalance Cerberus to the degree you want.  Not even close.  Dealing with it really is the wiser approach.

Cerberus already is the easiest faction to beat on Gold nowadays. Nerfing the phantoms.....

Dealing with it is the easier approach.  It's the approach you and others would rather see taken and I'm not even going to give any conjecture as to your reasons.  Your approach leads to lazy developers who do things like, I dunno, not even bother trying to patch relatively small bugs present since day 1 of the beta.

That doesn't make it the wiser approach.  The wiser approach is to see something so glaringly imba as the Cerberus faction and make logical complaints about it until the game is taken offline or they fix it.

Yep, again, it's bad mechanic to hve phantom be the only real threat of the cerberus faction, meanwhile for other faction, it's the combined forces that can make it hard.

Say, Geth have the pyro (somewhat though high damage) + hunter (cloaked high damage) + rocket troopers + basic troopers with decent damage and the prime.

Even if you take them separately, they can pose a significant threat.

While assault troopers...centurions...guardians...meh

You can learn a lot from DracoGoldenwing, and I second his statement.

Saying "Can't do anything about it, derp de doo" is not going to help the metagame improve in the slightest. If we enjoy this game, should we not at least make the attempt to improve it? Or is that simply out of the question?

The f*ck is this "y'all" business?

Seems like we got only two types of people complaining the game is too easy:

1: super-elite players grown in a cloning vat in a secret government facility in Nevada, trained to be assassins who solo Gold with melee attacks because they feel guns kill things too quickly

2: Cerberus sleeper agents who want BW to make the game so hard that it kills all the N7 SpecOps members.

Since I'm not a clone assassin, nor a Cerberus plant, I do not fit into the "y'all" that has been calling to make the game harder. Especially with all the buffs they've given to enemies in the past couple of months.

And anybody who's ever gotten three Eagle upgrades in Victory (or is it Commendation?) packs can appreciate the argument to buff weapon damage...

So...I dunno...if I could, I'd happily give my Eagle 3 to you and anyone you know who feel weapons are fine as is.

Having watched another barrage of biotic powers fail to scratch a Phantom in the slightest, I reiterate that this ability is the worst bit of flaming stupid in the game and needs to be addressed.

They should lose invulnerability. Nothing worse than hacking in wave 10 and having 5 invisible and invulnerable phantoms in the hack with you.

yall iis southern dialect...when i use it, i'm not refering to you specificly, i'm talking in general about the bsn

as for what you said: no need to give me your eagle, i already have it at level 3, and it works fine....just like all the weapons i already have....all the weapons have pros/cons and mods to help negate some of those cons, so they are fine to me

you may not have been asking for the game to be made harder, but others are....i know you've seen the platinum level talk around here....you can tell bw has already listened to them, cause the game has gotten harder on all difficulties over the last month or 2, you even stated that....well, if they listen to yall and make the weapons stronger, they gonna have to balance out the game by making the enemies harder....it's a never ending cycle....

Doesn't all hitscan powers (Stasis, Reave, Energy Drain, Overload) bypass the palm shield?

Things I've seen the Shield accomplish:

* Ignoring an entire team's deployables (Drones, Sentry, Geth Turret)
* Ignore the entire KRO TEAM's grenades (pre-Jaimas' switch to Kroguard)
* Ignoring multiple Arc/Cluster/Lift Grenades from a PuG group I hopped into
* Ignoring the explosions of Drones/Decoys/Tech Armors/Barriers
* Ignoring an entire biotic team Shockwaving/Smashing one (One Ex-Cerberus Vanguard, One Human Adept, one Batarian Sentinel, One Female Shockguard)
* Ignoring a barrage of Concussion Shots/Carnages from my entire team when me, CeilingKid, and RoadGGG went on an all-soldier run for fun and profit

No one is saying Phantoms are unkillable - My Kroguard alone proves that, as does every Asari ever, and weapons are good at killing them.

The problem is that they're extremely hard to stop without gunfire, and you're unlikely to stagger one with just that. The crux of the issue is that Phantom ability immunity, vis-a-vis their palm shield (which, it needs be noted, allows them to run close and vaccuu-kill people or fire palmshots-o-doom) is woefully unfair and incredibly unbalanced.

A few things bout biotics. Reave works just fine on them. 3-4 stacks and I just wander off and they die. Smash is hard to get them with, not impossible though. It *does* however set them up for a splosion even if they eat it, then all you do is lash and kaboom, again even if they eat the lash.

Phantoms are ridiculously OP for not being the boss unit of a faction. Agility, cloak ability when you whittle them down that allows them to regenerate barriers because you can't track them to finish the job while they're invisible and flipping around, two weapons: palm gun and a melee weapon that staggers, and the frustrating insta-kill ability.

Missed the part where I said it puts the effect on them. It's how I kill phantoms all day. One you have an effect on them certain powers set them off no matter what.

Phantoms must remain still for a good 2 to 3 seconds to deploy the shield, during this time a few rounds in the head will result in an easy kill.

and even if she's "invulnerable" to certain power attacks, she'll still do evasive flips when even you throw something her way. Just shoot her in that enormous head of hers when she lands.
