Just a quick question for anyone who may have played the PC and console versions. I have DA:O on the XBOX, but from reading it seems like it would be better for the PC, I know generally games are. I was just wondering if anyone had played both and if it is a great deal better? I like the idea of being able to expand the PC version which it appears I cant do on the console which is a shame.

Also has anyone played both the XBOX and PS3 versions?

The biggest thing is the Toolkit and player mods, which, no, you cannot use on 360 or PS3 at this time. 360 and PS3 will, however, have access to all the official DLC.

For my money, the best thing the pc has is the mouse & keyboard, and more power!

So the pc version lets you zoom out further, and have more precise control over simultaneous movement positioning of your party members....

Since the pc version is easier to control, it is also harder (larger battles, and "Friendly Fire" is active on normal difficulty (though only at 50% of normal)).

I bought the xbox version first and was so disgusted by the fugly graphics (honestly, take a look at the quartermasters face in Ostagar) that I ordered the PC version.

Its far better looking, the inventory system is far smoother & quicker to use, and the control system is much easier too. My mate still plays it on the xbox and he never gives his party orders because its too much trouble.

DA is great for what it is on the xbox, there's not much else like it. But if you have the choice PC is best.

If you like in-depth tactical control and you want to really explore that, I recommend the PC version because of the camera options and a better interface. Plus the game scales rather well on different PCs, so even if you run at low or medium settings you will still get a game that's completely playable.

A friend of mine is actually playing it on her older laptop in spite of having an Xbox 360, simply because she feels the game is more "at home" and thus easier for her to play on a PC *shrug* :)

The in-game difficulty is higher on PC, though, as Torias said.

I like my 360 for things like this as I enjoy kicking back in my recliner and using the gamepad. It also gets me off my PC, which I use for work. Although, I'll probably end up doing with DA:O what I did with KoTOR, and that is eventually get the PC version anyway.

Thats for all the comments. Pretty much what I was expecting. I agree with you Adria, I work on a PC all day and so it is nice to not sit on it in the evening. Also my only half suitable PC would have to be a laptop, which is far spec apart from the graphics card which is quite frankly sh*t! (Intel T9400, 4GB 1066Mhz RAM, but a Intell 4100MHD graphics card which is terrible!). I would enjoy it for the PC more, games are generally better for the PC but it just dont think it would be worth it for me. I might give the demo a shot and see how it plays.

Does anyone know the difference between the normal and delux editions?

Well I just tested Steams "demo" which is the character creater. The graphics are a whole world better!! I have to say they are not even in the same league! BUT, the cut scene was quite choppy, and nothing was smooth in the menu etc. It was in fact horrible to use. So no joy for me :( it is a work laptop, but I so regret not getting the Nvidia quarto chip! :(

PC is better.. regret buying the 360 version... too few hotkeys... hard to control... RPG are superior in PC.
