Lovely your LI tells Joker to leave you behind, silly.

Really? That's lovely...

I waited for one scene - reunion with LI, and that wasn't hard to make. Thanks BioWare. And I got one advise - don't try to be 'epic' you really don't know what it is.

THIS

Yep. All I really wanted was a scene where Shep's LI discovered she was alive. Really all I wanted. But I guess there were far fewer of us than I realised.

So they could not explain how Shepard survived the explosion.

Figures...

Nor did they explain how the squad got onto the Normandy before it crashed. Nor how the ship survived that crash to then take off again (which strikes me as a last-minute change, otherwise why even have them crash in the first place?). Boy, don't you love all this clarification?

Do Geth still die in Destroy Ending? I wished starchild was wrong about them as he was about Shepard's cybernetic implants...

The only Geth you see is Legion when they are talking about sacrifices but they show the Quarians alive and well with their suits on. That said, you see Tali maskless but in a crying position so you can just about make out a purple face and nose. Also you see EDI whilst your name is being put on the plaque.

The other important races get shown celebrating but not the Geth basically :(

So we cannot be sure if Geth survived or not.... Anyway if EDI, who even has Reaper Techn survived we could assume they survived too.

Anyway does Shepard live in destroy ending with a high EMS?

i can confirm that the 'reject all options' choice is real. it only happens if you shoot the star child. his voice will get all scary, he'll say 'so be it' and guess what? YOU LOSE ANYWAY. you see a hologram of liara saying they failed

I see this as a first clue that IT may be correct.

If you reject - according to people - starchild sounds like Harbinger. This may further suggest the theory that Starchild is controlled by the reapers.

Liara says they failed to win against the reapers and starchild says "so be it."
It's an indication that IT may be true.

Part of the theory discusses how "Starchild" is just a fabrication of the Repears to throw shepard off - and have him not choose "Destroy".

When you reject the ending - and Starchild says "so be it" (in Reaper voice) - and Liara says that they weren't able to succeed - it further indicates that Starchild was just a fabrication by the reapers - and the reapers destroyed everyone.

Even though i'm not a IT believer i find it odd that Starchild sounds like Harby. Image IPB

It may not be harby specifically but it definitely sounds reaperlike.

It makes sense in IT terms....we've been theorizing about the idea that Starchild is nothing but a fabrication of the reapers.

So if that is true (IF that is true) - doesn't that make perfect sense that it would sound like Harby??

EDI died so i assume Geth did too.

Some people are saying she did, others are saying she didn't. Bug again, Bioware? :?

So the original endings do indeed doom the galaxy...I'm pretty certain that the relays were completely destroyed (in the original) , and thus their tweets "nobody starves", etc were in fact lies, because for that to be true they had to retcon the relay destruction.

God bioware, if they made the reject ending having a good outcome they would have been saved in my eyes. i can deal with shepard dying but making it all a losing battle? lame

You do realise that it took an entire fleet to take out ONE capital ship, right?  The crucible was a last ditched effort because regular tactics were feeble.  You'd go down fighting but you'd still inevitably lose

People wanted a reapers win scenario and now they got one.  I don't have a problem with it.  You wanted a choice to reject everything and in the end you do nothing which costs you.

Except the Reapers are NOT unbeatable, and they can be fought...and the weapons of the united fleet are much better suited against the Reapers than anything even the Protheans had.  At the very least there should be some possibility of winning...or at least drawing....if you reject the starbrat.  It shouldn't be easy in the slightest, but it should be POSSIBLE.  After all the main theme (or at least I always thought it was the main theme) was doing the impossible.

-Polaris

I disagree. The whole point of ME3 is the crucible and that's it the only chance of defeating the Reapers. If I remember correctly, Hackett mentions it one last, but definitely not only time, right before London. Every conventional victory against the Reapers would be much more space magic than everything Bioware came up with.

How does the crew even know that Anderson and Shepard are dead? (Or at least come to believe that Shepard is gone?)

Even Hackett cannot know that at that point, especially in a scenario where the "breath scene" does happen.

What about the crew materializing on the Normandy? How did the ground team get there, and why did they leave Shepard behind to begin with?

Was Bioware really stupid enough to leave all the plot holes in there, and "fix" them by adding new ones?

There's no EDI in Destroy ending, she shows up, when Shepard shots the tube (Anderson, EDI, LI). I'm assume, geth will die too. :/

I'm certain I saw her at the memorial at the end with the group putting the plaque up. There was also no in memorial scene for her like Legion/Mordus/Thane.

Gotta say Zaeed is a boss in the ending, just chilling out on a sunlounger!

Just played through Destroy, my poor EDI is not standing with the crew in front of the memorial wall, and no geth in the cutscenes. But I also got the Shepard breathing when I never did before the Extended Cut. Had about 7000 EMS at 50% so like 3500 I guess. I also talked the Illusive Man to kill himself though. Still like my synthetics too much to like Destroy. lol

Edit: Also, the memorial scene was different in that your LI strokes your nameplate, but doesnt actually put it on the wall.

Well, how is it betrayal ? Was it betrayal when Lando didn't even think about trying to pick up Luke when they blew up the death star ? Was in Betrayal when Aragorn didn't jump after Gandalf at Khazad Dum ? Was it betrayal when Sattler left Muldoon when he told her to run in Jurassic Park ? There's no point in sacrificing more people when the outcome is (or seems) hopeless...

...Since when did *Garrus* of all characters give a damn about the odds, or whether a situation's unwinnable? He'd follow you straight into hell if given the chance.
Your squadmates *promised* you they had your back in the final mission, win or lose, live or die.

Garrus telling you to leave is ridiculous, because on the presidium Shepard tells Garrus "You know who your real friends are, aren't the ones looking for the nearest exit."

I guess Garrus wasn't a real friend after all?

So... wait a moment:

The only thing they really DID retcon was the destruction of the relays?

I'm speechless.

I'll withhold judgment until I've actually seen the whole sorry mess myself, but it sure looks like Bioware and I are parting ways.

I shall ask again for some more details regarding the Control ending if someone checked it. What really happens with Shepard? He becomes an AI? And then what? He runs away with the Reapers? Stays? Where? As what? And what about the Reapers? They just go away or become the local cyberpolice? Need more info :x

Except we are SHOWN repeatedly (not just in ME3 but 1 and 2) that the Reapers while powerful and intelligent are not omnipotent nor omniscient.  They can and are beaten...and indeed in this cycle almost nothing goes right for the Reapers.

I would say that Hackett is simply wrong.

One of the goals for the Extended Cut, as part of addressing player feedback, was to provide more time with the love interest, and more opportunity for players to say goodbye to them and provide additional moments of connection between them. We did this in several ways:
  • Shepard can now actually say goodbye to the love interest when they are split up at the conduit run.
  • When Shepard sees flashbacks of important characters during the final decision, the flashbacks are now variable based on your playthrough – so your love interest can appear as one of the flashbacks, providing another moment of reflection between Shepard and that character.
  • A memorial scene was added, partly to show a close bond between Shepard and the love interest. The scene is variable, and if Shepard has a love interest in a given playthrough, it will be that character who places Shepard’s name on the memorial wall.
  • You may notice that in the “Shepard lives” ending, the love interest hesitates to place Shepard’s name on the wall, and instead looks up as though deep in thought. This is meant to suggest that the love interest is not ready to believe Shepard is dead, and the final scene reveals they are correct. As the Normandy lifts off, there is hope that the love interest and Shepard will again be together.
