That's all I wanted. Honestly. All I've ever asked for since discovering how bad the original ending was.
I was right when I felt like you guys were going to break my heart again. Thanks >.>

Its wonderfull how my Shep managed to wait untill the Normandy was rebuilt, flying and was having a fine memorial service before taking a breath.

The normandy-picking-up-squadmates scene is _awful_
I mean they stop _right_ in front of Harbinger... man, that's terrible

Yep. All I really wanted was a scene where Shep's LI discovered she was alive. Really all I wanted. But I guess there were far fewer of us than I realised.
One of the goals for the Extended Cut, as part of addressing player feedback, was to provide more time with the love interest, and more opportunity for players to say goodbye to them and provide additional moments of connection between them. We did this in several ways:
- Shepard can now actually say goodbye to the love interest when they are split up at the conduit run.
- When Shepard sees flashbacks of important characters during the final decision, the flashbacks are now variable based on your playthrough – so your love interest can appear as one of the flashbacks, providing another moment of reflection between Shepard and that character.
- A memorial scene was added, partly to show a close bond between Shepard and the love interest. The scene is variable, and if Shepard has a love interest in a given playthrough, it will be that character who places Shepard’s name on the memorial wall.
- You may notice that in the “Shepard lives” ending, the love interest hesitates to place Shepard’s name on the wall, and instead looks up as though deep in thought. This is meant to suggest that the love interest is not ready to believe Shepard is dead, and the final scene reveals they are correct. As the Normandy lifts off, there is hope that the love interest and Shepard will again be together.
...But why not just show it, then?
I mean, you're implying that they *do* get back together, so why not just a quick scene of the LI pulling Shepard out of the rubble, or even Hackett radioing in to say, 'Oh hey, Shepard's alive'.
I mean, I'm assuming that the breath scene happens *before* the epilogue slides do chronologically. No one managed to find Shepard in the ruins in that time? They weren't even mentioned. It's just... it's kind of silly that this is supposed to be closure and the end of Shepard's story, and we're still forced to headcanon things. I doubt anyone was asking for a full life description of Shepard afterwards (well, maybe the Liaramancers and their little blue babies, but still); a LI reunion would have still left plenty to the imagination about what happened *after*.
Otherwise, I'm grateful for the epilogue slides. I love how if you shoot the Starkid, you get instafail. Really, I'm pretty satisfied, it's definitely better than before, I just really wish that we had gotten a reunion or... or something to show that the crew knows that Shepard is alive.

On one hand, if anything, the plot holes got worse.
...But on the OTHER hand... there is hope to have Turian babies with Garrus!

All I wanted with the EC is for my choices, which I've made through the whole 3 games, to matter. Didn't need a happy ending, didn't need a "reapers win" scenario, I just wanted to be able to play the trilogy again and know that what I do throughout the games actually makes a difference. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I wasn't alone in wanting that.

Pause: I saw something new. Shepard, Garrus and Liara are running to the beam. Garrus and Liara almost get crushed by the Mako, they are injured. Shepard calls for the Normandy to come get them. That is how they got on the ship, no one else got this clip???
I started playing at "The Return". I assume theres more clips after the Cerberus Base mission like bioware suggested we start at. This clip you're talking about probably occurs when Shepard is hit by Harbinger's beam, I think.

That is what happens when one tries to backpedal from the horrible content in the original. I guess we should give them kudos for trying but I seriously hoped for more.Mobius-Silent wrote...

Is it uncool to be grateful for new content? What is this? Does everyone have to be so critical? From what I've read so far, the endings sound a mile better than the original. Who was seriously thinking that they'd remodel their endings based on every single comment from people around here? I also like how IT was partly confirmed but you can totally reject it at the same time. And there couldn't be a reunion because that's not what they intended from the beginning.
It pretty much proves most of the 'movement' in the end was what the denied to be: BLUE BABIES ENDING PLZers. They got what they asked for, but they just want to see their LI. In fact, i'd venture to say most of them would be happy if all the 1.9 gigs was, was a sex scene.

You can reject the endings that starchild offers you.
Doing so will fade the scene to black then you see the next cycle, the liara hologram will talk about how they couldn't stop the reapers in their cycle.
Its garbage and a F U from bioware.
If true that's the "reapers win" scenario that people were begging for so I don't have a problem with it
I do. If you end the game with insufficient resources for example (and it IS possible to end the game with less than the minimum...but you really have to work at sabotaging your own game to do it), then yes, the hologram and a "reapers win" ending is appropriate.
However, what this sounds like is if you don't accept Bioware's little star-child and do whatever he wants meekly, then you get to lose.
How special. A big middle finger to the community is exactly what it is. At the very least if you had huge amounts of EMS, you should be given the option to win (or at least draw) conventionally. The Reapers are not unbeatable after all.

Yes, it looks like an extended version of the cut content from before. They just added some stuff and a new dialogue for LI.MissMaster_2 wrote...

However, that hope was always there....provided you picked 'destroy' (which the EC hasn't changed) and provided you had 4000+ EMS (Gibbed Save editor is your friend).

lol. agreed. Even though i dont think the Normandy was broken in pieces in the EC. so maybe Shep was taking coma breathes lol.
Still though i would assume it would take a few hrs to get everybody chked out and send distress calls etc. and plan the memorial.

Sorry if it was asked before but I think I read something about the realys not being destroyed. Are the relays actually destroyed in destroy ending with high EMS?
Relays are not destroyed. Normandy is not stranded. Lots of retconning.
