Refusal ending: If you decide to not choose any of the options the Starchild, who turns out to be a Reaper anyway, you go into a speech how you will fight them your own way and die free....then Starchild says "Game Over" and Shepard does....nothing. Is this about right?

So, let's review here:
* Destroy ending: actually somewhat tolerable now, still pretty eh.
* Control: fan fiction come to life. Shepard the Reaper God? lol bioware
* Synthesis: creepy as all hell. Makes absolutely no sense (space magic>husks?). Everyone has green eyes. Horrific.
* Refusal ending: Bioware says: "Lol, pick RGB or you're ****ed. kthxbye" Ugh.

You can't always win.

I was going in EC expecting nothing and got as much out of it, as I paid for.

This is not the END of a trilogy, this is just bait for a sequel.

NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo RLy?

It's the end of the trilogy. But the beginning of a new. B)

Your usage of internet memes is formidable: have tea and crackers, fella.

Yes please, have fun expecting to be lied to again.

BioWare never lied to me. I didn't jump in the hype/infinite praise waggon like most of you and loved Mass Effect 3.

Couldn't agree more

An interesting thing about the Synthesis ending also, is that for me, I let Kasumi keep Keji's black box. In Synthesis, it showed Kasumi with a Keiji hologram. In Control and Destroy she just looked at the black box. Some kind of... interesting implications.

I've never seen people so open about admitting they don't like to use their brain. Kudos.

Yeah, whatever, I hardly was so openly insulted on the BSN. Thanks for that!

Wish for things actually shown = Stupid gamer that doesn't get it!

I get it, though my brain really struggled hard to understand your over-intelligent opinion! Thank you for making me a better and slightly less stupid person! Image IPB

You're welcome. That'll be $10.

Wow. I totally take that back about Bioware not being stupid.

I am ASTONISHED at how this fourth ending is a blatant middle finger to everyone.

There was no frickin' middle ground, this is just the company being crybabies about "BAAAW BAAW THEY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND OUR VISION!"

Bioware. You need to take a hard look at what you've done and why people are still unhappy. You may have heard us but you didn't listen.

Awwww hell, I'll just stick with destroy because that's never going to change. I really would have preferred punching Harbinger in his stupid face.

The Refusal Ending: Great, seriously I was hoping for a Terminator 3 ending since I finished ME2 (as one possibility)
Though, I have to admit. The fact that it was released after that ****storm about Starchild might leave a bitter aftertaste.

Bioware could have made everyone happy by making an expansion or DLC or whatever that put in the Indoctrination Theory as canon and then had the scenario where you fight through it - the ending could be waking up in the rubble; thus setting up a sequel that starts with ME3's ending or something.

Instead we get "DO NOTHING, EVERYONE DIES ANYWAY".

T_T

im sorry but this is a bit false

Better than expected, worse than hoped.

I was simply expecting everything to be the same, except at the beginning of the stargazers scene the kid says "did that all really happen?", then Buzz says "No"....fade to black.

I don't know why they couldn't just have some kind of reuinion.

They made the ending open like that on purpose, your LI refuses to belive you are dead, and you are on the citadel. A chance of a reunion ishighly probable.

It is very, very heavily implided that they can meet again. they just left it up to you instead of deciding to make a single scene to fit eveyone's whims.

So heavily implied, why not show it?

because every single person has a diffrent opinion on how such a meeting would go down. No matter what they did Bioware was going to get a crapton of flak. so they went with the relatively safe options of letting the fans decide themselves on how it would go down. Too bad most people don't seem to like the idea of having to actually think.

A reunion with the LI is all I wanted even if it was just a slide showing shep and LI standing together or something but it look like we don't get that so I ask you is there any point in downloading it?

Excellent so in addition to

1) Genocide
2) Slavery
3) Techno-Eugenics
we get
4) Suicide

How's that for thematically revolting? I guess I did ask for an ending that rejects the 3... be careful what you ask for.

To be honest the 3 different endings seem even more similar than they did before. I find it even more confusing trying to pick the right one. They all seem right in their own way. Whether that is what Bioware wanted I'm not too sure. I picked Synthesis to begin with, but now I am thinking Control just because shepard kinda lives (just in the reapers) :/

So wait, the kid's okay with me using destroy (he gives it to me as an option), but he gets all bitter and changes his voice with the "so be it" line if I don't use the catalyst?

ummm.... wat?

I liked this enough though. I wish there had been a rendering of the crew finding shep (not even a cinematic, just a painting like the others), but other than that, this was satisfactory.

It looks like I won't be playing ME3. That depressing rubbish as canon? No.

Forced multiplayer play to get good endings? even worse. I don't want to spend my time with certain aspects of the multi-player community who have brains the size of a turnip.

Looks like ME2 is my ending for the series. In my mind, Shepard's indoctrinated, wakes up, beats the Reapers and the galaxy rebuilds. Not "everybody dies either way".

You may notice that in the “Shepard lives” ending, the love interest hesitates to place Shepard’s name on the wall, and instead looks up as though deep in thought. This is meant to suggest that the love interest is not ready to believe Shepard is dead, and the final scene reveals they are correct. As the Normandy lifts off, there is hope that the love interest and Shepard will again be together.

I'm sorry, Tully; I'm sure some of you at Bioware meant well by this, but it's still truly ridiculous.

Unless there's some plan by Bioware for post-ending DLC that will allow "Shepard Lives" enders to reunite with their love interests, that "hope" you mention will never be fulfilled, and THAT is what people wanted.  Considering all the hardships, sacrifices and losses that Shepard had to suffer throughout the Mass Effect games as a whole, the one thing that would've made up for all of that would be that in the end, after all the bloodshed and destruction, Shepard could reunite with the man or woman he or she chose to love.  Hell, if you even just gave us a scene where the love interest finds out that Shepard is still alive, that would've been better than nothing at all.

I won't believe for one moment that it couldn't have been done, Bioware.  I can forgive a great many things about the endings thanks to the DLC, but not this.  With this, you've seriously, shamefully missed the mark.  I'm not about to get on the "F*ck you, Bioware" bandwagon as I've invested too much time and emotion in what is in every other way an amazing story and universe, but saying I am extremely and intensely disappointed would be a massive understatement right now.

Don't assume to speak for everyone in our situation.  I had the "Shepard lives" scene but would have strongly disliked to have this "reuniting with LI" scene forcibly pushed down my throat.  If you would like this to be the case, there is no reason why it can't be in your ending.  We do not need to be forced into a scenario.

Um...good for you, then...I guess...?

How is something more than some vague implication based on nothing more than player assumption forcibly pushing something down your throat?  Why even bother cultivating a love interest if there's no desire to see a positive ending for the two of them?

You want to disagree, fine, but dial it down a few notches, yeah?

In response to your first question - if Bioware had gone ahead with "happily ever after" endings, they risk impeding on the vision of anyone who didn't want it; it leaves them worse for wear.  There's no means of reversing what you see, it's in stone.

There is currently nothing to stop you assuming that your desired ending comes to fruition - you've certainly not been shown anything to suggest otherwise.  It all points towards possibly being reuinted.

I take issue with people who assume their own opinion counts as the general consensus, and you see a lot of it on here.  Your opinion is equally as valid as mine, and they're different.  Neither of us are necessarily right.  However, at least this way we can close off the secondary issues (let's face it, LIs are secondary to the broader picture) in our own way.  It needn't be laid out.

Apparently you are too stupid to understand that you are supposed to imagine how your Shepard and LI are reunited once more! Because showing things in a visual medium like a videogame is...only for stupid people!
