Eh, just put it on the easiest mode you can without auto dialogue and just 1 shot everything. That's what I'ma do.

You can reject the endings that starchild offers you.

Doing so will fade the scene to black then you see the next cycle, the liara hologram will talk about how they couldn't stop the reapers in their cycle.

Its garbage and a F U from bioware.

I wonder if the suggestion to start from an earlier save doesn't take into account the auto save waiting for you?  Sounds like there is nothing different leading up to the final assualt.  Geez and you have to have that fifteen minute firefight with all those banshees.

If true that's the "reapers win" scenario that people were begging for so I don't have a problem with it

HERE ARE SPOILERS FROM MY ENDING- PARAGON LIARA LI DESTROY

The Normandy is fine, and looked to be on their way home. That said, it seems they believe Shepard is dead, as Liara holds a new plaque for the wall. They fly off the jungle world, and then you still get the breath scene. Enough for a head canon happy ending, easy.

NEW GIF.. IMAGE... THINGS. Saw EDI when I blew up the Reapers. ALSO SAW ONES FOR THANE, MORDIN AND LEGION WHO DIED IN MY GAME. Epilogue slide show, narrated by Hacket. Saw Jacob, Kasumi, Zaeed, Grunt, Wrex, Quarians and others.

STARGAZER SCENE--- still there.

You get to investigate the Catalyst and other things. I found the Catalyst to be a lot easier to take this time around.

THEY ALSO CHANGED THE ENDING MESSAGE to be a thank you to fans... mighty big of them there.

I ONLY PLAYED FROM THE RETURN, so others may have more. Bed time for me.

I *think* (don't quote me on this, I could be wrong) the reason they say to start from before Cerberus is because they've finally "fixed" EMS, so - no, you shouldn't have to. Not sure though.
