I *think* (don't quote me on this, I could be wrong) the reason they say to start from before Cerberus is because they've finally "fixed" EMS, so - no, you shouldn't have to. Not sure though.

THEY ALSO CHANGED THE ENDING MESSAGE to be a thank you to fans... mighty big of them there.

I ONLY PLAYED FROM THE RETURN, so others may have more. Bed time for me.

Aaaand the pressure was relieved....

I do.  If you end the game with insufficient resources for example (and it IS possible to end the game with less than the minimum...but you really have to work at sabotaging your own game to do it), then yes, the hologram and a "reapers win" ending is appropriate.

However, what this sounds like is if you don't accept Bioware's little star-child and do whatever he wants meekly, then you get to lose.

How special.  A big middle finger to the community is exactly what it is.  At the very least if you had huge amounts of EMS, you should be given the option to win (or at least draw) conventionally.  The Reapers are not unbeatable after all.

Didn't the protheans design the catalyst? How is it the Lord of the Reapers (starchild) is in full control? Any explanation on that?

Figured as much but before you go - since you did the happy (as in best) destroy ending did the geth survive?  There were conflicting reports earlier on that

Also, the "Reject" ending has a new Stargazer scene, with a child and an asari that sounds like Liara.

I saw nothing about them whatsoever. Not a thing. Though I don't recall seeing EDI during the plaque scene, and her imae flashed when Shep shot the... umm.. tube thing...

Posted this in another thread, figured i'd ask here as well.

On the reject ending do you actually see the next cycle beating the Reapers? Or do they just give you a text explanation or voice on a black screen that says they do? And how do they defeat them?
