While I do appreciate the work that went into this and yes it is an improvement, I'm still NOT satisfied. I felt that the endings we got just didn't fit in with the Mass Effect universe, and that it disregarded what made the series great. However I would like to thank bioware for this and I am really hoping that they will continue to listen to fans and strive to please as many of us as they possibly can.

Now this is a good ending. Not perfect (Oh, Normandy hovering right in front of Habringer ^^), but on an emotional level it works.

It's an improvement on the original endings, in my eyes, but still with more plot holes than a new cemetary. I won't list them here, but you can readily find the relevent threads, if you so wish. I'd also like to suggest there is a wider range of reasoned responses than simply 'like it' or 'butthurt'. Again, if you're so inclined, there is ample opportunity for you to investigate what they may be.

This would certainly have helped.   I went through the game expecting at least one ending in the style of the ME1 and 2 games.  Shoot, someone else mentioned Shepard waking up and seeing the LI there, or a team member, that would have been very satisfying.  

In my head, have decide Shepard who breaths lives, but really, I saw the wounds.  If Sheaprd doesn't have some assistance from someone, he's going to have a very hard time staying alive.

I installed that dlc before completing the game. Then i completed the game with over 5000 galactic readiness, making illusive man suicide, destroying synthetics to save shepard.

Well, i didn't notice anything new in the ending. So, can yu please tell me what has been added with this dlc?

May I ask why the EC hasn't come out on my PSN yet? I've been waiting since it's release date, but I haven't seen a peep out of it.

The EC comes out for PS3 on July the 4th, I too am waiting. Couple more days unfortunately.

Just want to say that having watched through all the different endings on youtube, I must say I'm becoming more and more impressed with the EC. Not only on what you see at the end, but the catalyst's speech changes too. So many variables and parameters involved!

Kasumi didn't die in my 3 endings. I kept the data.
In Synthesis she reunites with Ken in a digital world. In the other she is see looking at the data.

 The only reason I think you have to start at the Cerberus Base is (I'm Thinking) for a few extra lines or something. I'm not a hundred perccent sure cuz I haven't checked it, but I started at the beam also and I got new endings, so IDK if you actually have to start at the Base to get the endings

Damn... this one is bad. Most are dead. Shep and Normandy crew included :unsure:

But I have to say that Bioware did a good job with the EC. Now the endings are really different and all should get their ending... with a little hope a reunion ending someday in the future for me :D

I'll choose to take that first sentence as a compliment.

I can understand not liking the ending of the first game, but I can't see any way that the previous version of the ending was out of place, as it models the endings of the previous two games closely, and it fits the tone of the previous 29 hours and 45 minutes of gameplay quite well.

Personally, I thought that conceptually the initial ending was nearly perfect, but in execution it was somewhat lacking.  I think the execution of the extended cut is better (except for the stupid, stupid hot evac and the wholly unnecessary Catalyst infodump), but I do not like it conceptually.  It's just too happy, antiseptic, and immediate and not nearly haunting or cosmic enough.


Red, Green or Blue explosions that do basically only what the player believes they do is very haunting and cosmic. It's like jumping out of a sattelite without the suit on, you get a first-hand glimpse of the vastness of the cosmos and the darkness that is terrifying, the big empty infinite around you.

You also suffocate from it.

Tl.dr Video games shouldn't be mentally unhealthy. EC was the suit you need to breathe while watching the ending.

Way to go BioWare! I have to say, for the most part, this ending was great, and it was wonderful to have an option of refusing the catalyst's logic. But the two best changes were that its logic (though a little immoral) is not so hypocritical or circular and that the galaxy is able to stay united (by the mass relays). However, I have three minor complaints:

1. The refusal ending should have been a little longer, and the speech Liara gives should have been more of a "don't give up, fight back" than a "you can't win, you will die" tone.

2. The one ending where shepard lives needed a little more to it (everything may have turned out well, but that is not the feeling it gives).

3. .It seems a little silly to have the normandy still land on that uninhabited planet when it stays intact and soon leaves. It just seems like a weak excuse to say that you did not truly "change" the endings.

Also, it's not certain at all that they leave. Lower EMS, for instance, results in them never lifting off. Even lower EMS doesn't show them coming out.

EC is good, as I wrote before. There are some issues however:
1. Missing subtitles in some lines of conversation between Shepard and Star Child
2. No Game Over Achievements after Reject ending
3. People have reported that they cannot see rachni in the epilogue after saving both rachni queen and Grunt. That is what I have also in my saves. Saving queen and sacrificing Grunt seems to work. Haven't tried this with Urdnot Dagg.

If there are more issues keep reporting. Hopefully they will be addressed in a patch.

Doubtful. They already worked overtime on the EC. If there's stuff missing it's really not their problem anymore.

Wow, wow. Suicide and sacrifice doesn't mean the same thing.
Don't think Jacob dying in ME2 will trigger a flashback. And I really don't remmember seeing anyone say that they saw the Virmire Sacrifice in a flashback.

Haha, I didn't feel like writing their deaths out. I admit I forgot the word sacrifice :D

Is it even possible for a Jacob romance flashback? I thought the romance is considered void since he moved on.
