I love the extended cut. It really fleshes things out and confirms/clarifies a lot of the issues I had with the original endings.
That said.. what I really want, is an ending of refuse, with destroy, but synthesis. (haven't actually looked at control yet). I love the indomitable spirit of Shepard when you refuse. To me, that's Shepard. The "no, this isn't good enough" and fighting right to the end. It reminds me of his speeches with sovereign, harbinger, and saren. I would like the direct outcome of the destroy ending, where the reapers all burn and perish. However I would like the outcome of synthesis where the quarians and geth are living in peace and without face masks.
So torn.. the choices are difficult at the end of the game. I really don't know which one to choose, as they have pros I like, and cons I hate. Destroy is incredibly difficult to choose if you grew attached to legion and edi. All in all, I think the endings are going to alter my choices in the series, rather than my choices in the series affecting my choice at the end of the game.
All in all, great addition the EC.

Acceptable.
Sure, they've just polished their turd, but it's got a really nice glossy shine to it now, and they even sprayed fabreze on it so it dosn't stink up the rest of the series.
Could pretty much any other ending have been better? Yes, and Mac Walters should neve be allowed to be head writer of any game ever again, but at least the universe isn't trashed and the character we actually care about are no longer completely screwed.
Agreed

(as I had a "use your imagination to see Shepard reunited with her loved ones"-ending even without the EC, so actually no point of downloading it or play ME3 again...)

I'll use one for each:
For EC: Failure
For PR: Lies
For BW: Finished
From the looks of EC, there's no re-union, plot holes remained, everything is same.
Well done

It clarified next to nothing, and it seems implied in every ending that Shepard dies. Regardless of all the EMS you have. EC has killed my enthusiasm for this series.

Ok, isn't one word but "better" alone didn't quite fit, still have one unanswered question though, what was the skull belonging to an unknown creature can be found in the Armstrong Nebula on the planet Maji orbiting Vamshi. from ME 1?

(Sorry for not using one-word-only rule. But the ending does give a lot more closure)

It's clear that they took much of the critique to heart and modified the ending for the better. Sure, we might have preferred a different ending entirely, but let's be realistic.
