I think the extended cut is emotionally more satisfying than the original. The changes are light but also a lot more drastic than I would have expected, but I approve. Perhaps the writers were indeed a bit hasty in presenting the first ending, but considering the quality of their product I cannot fault them for that one oversight. They did good. I'm proud of them, even if they make me cry.
