Hello, Morrigans staff just disappeared today without
me distroying it or moving if from her weapon slot.
I used old saves where it´s shown she does have the
staff  on the picture but it´s just gone.
It seems to me Bioware did not care to fix any of the numerous
bugs / silly AI  / balance issues this game has, it´s still a
great game but this is starting to ruin my experience with DA.


EDIT : I restarted the game and loaded the last save and i got new items.
I received the starting stuff again, BD armor and the attributes book but no staff.
(I already sold the armor / used the book in the start of the game).
The staff reappeared again, i had to load a save 5 hours+ back  to get it.

What staff? Does it have a name? Did you perchance swap Morrigan's weapon set?

I'm experiencing the same problem. In my case, it's the Winter's Breath staff from the Warden's Keep DLC.



I had this issue before, when I was in Redcliffe but as rubels described above, loading an old save fixed the problem. I just went through the whole Circle quest, however, and didn't have Morrigan with me. She had the staff when I left her in camp. Now I'm back from the tower and the staff is gone again... hmpf

The problem here is most likely that your DLC has been "unauthorized". Check this thread, it may have answers for you.

Same problem -- same staff and character. Final Reason (which I bought at great expense and which my character was carrying) disappeared at the same time, right after installing patch 1.02a.

Those are all DLC staves, WK and CE respectively, likely you loaded a game while the service wasn't running and the DLC's were considered unauthorized, removing all DLC content in the progress.

Ive had it happen with the Enchanter's Staff and the Oak Branch. Neither of which are DLC content as far as I know. First time it happened, I thought perhaps an enemy had disarmed me or NPCs could steal from our characters...it was kind of cool, even if a little frustrating. The second time it was just frustrating because you can do a heck of a lot between battles and it is only when you need to fight do you notice your weapon is missing (guess I am not too attentive).



If it wasnt only staffs I would consider it an in-built feature from my examples above, but in 3 playthroughs, Ive only had staffs pilfered so I am guessing it is a bug.

Do you have any DLCs enabled, KariTR? The way you're describing it, it can't be a DLC-related problem.



Since I'm also experiencing a lot of other problems concerning Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner now (e.g., the keep disappearing from the map screen, me not being able to talk to Shale anymore), I'm inclined to say, regardless of whether the disappearance of Winter's Breath has anything to do with it:

Winters breath and starfang not in game anymore. Levi is back at party camp with ! over his head.



For some reason the quest is still completed but the game servers seem to have reset the content. I cannot go and redo quest as it is completed in log. I cannot redo any of the content as I am level 19 and have no access to the top sections of Soldiers Peak as I have it completed.



Unbelievable that the people who are paying you for the game and the content downloads are having so many problems with NOT ONE bit of support or technical help and the pirates are all playing away with zero difficulty or problems. Might I suggest you fire the development team and hire the piraters.

Well, I really wanted to clarify that the items themselves werent DLC specific, but now you mention it, I didnt lose a staff until my second playthrough, which also happens to be the game where, for something different, I decided to install the DLC content that came with the box. The missing staff also happened on my 3rd playthrough.

This is probably stupidly obvious, but I have to ask anyway...

Are you checking to make sure that you haven't somehow accidentally switched to her second weaponset where she may not have one equipped?

The staff is in neither of Morrigan's two weapon sets, nor in the party inventory, nor was it accidently sold or destroyed. It simply ceased to be. I can barely restrain myself from calling it an ex-staff.

(Sorry for being a smarty-pants. I see your point though - it's not like these mistakes never happen.)

I've also noticed other items randomly disappearing from my inventory, most recently the Helm Of The Legion that Oghren was wearing. Curiously, he turned up wearing another helmet that was in my inventory - Morrigan had previously randomly equipped the same one, so I'm wondering if there's a connection.



Likewise, these aren't DLC items so it seems that there's a separate inventory bug. It doesn't happen often, but it's disconcerting when it does - and probably more than a little annoying if it's an important item that gets eaten.

i've had the same problem with the oak branch, but it disappeared over night before i went through the mist in the forest. as a result, i've never managed to finish the elf side-quest. any ideas of of how to re-add the item? is the a patch?
