As some have already said, I can live with it. Its not perfect, but I can live with it. These should have been the endings we got from the beginning and no the rush job we got from the start.

For me, the key thing is that your choices still do not matter at all.

I can. I am happy with my destroy ending. I would like to see what they do, if anything, about shepard still being alive in that ending? Are they just going to end the trilogy on the main character possibly being alive and his LI getting off the mystery planet? I hope we got some post story DLC that shows that. It can also show what happens in the other endings too.

Bioware said it clear that no post-ending DLC will ever be released, except for EC.

Im completely shocked that after 3 months with heavy criticism on what needs tweaking and the concerns of the fans that all we got was a slideshow. Im no longer mad at the nonsensical endings because I just feel sorry that that was the best they could do for their flagship series. See ya ME, Bioware, and EA. I believed at one point but this just highlights at how bad video games have become now.

I've watched the endings and cinematics on YouTube, going into it, well, expecting that they would fail because you can't possibly explain the illogical.

Afterwards im torn... I mean it still doesn't make any sense, it doesn't really undo the original ending and honestly I still don't feel like touching anything with a Bioware sign on it ever again.
Yet I think, trying to forget my obviously biased subjectiv opinion, that they did a decent job with what little they had (an ending that doesn't make *** sense).
Considering they insisted on this ending, they probably did the best they could. And I think if it would have been the ending to begin with, I still wouldn't have liked it, I still would have been pissed, but I, and maybe others, wouldn't have felt betrayed (or whatever word fits best here) by Bioware.

In the end I want to say two more things:

First, I'm not sure how I feel about Bioware insisting on their artistic freedom to keep the story the way they wanted it to be (not saying anything against that. If they want to do keep the story the way they intended it's their right).
But in the process of "fixing" it, they did so many things which I feel object the original ending.

>Original Endings clearly didn't want you to have a "happy ending" option, yet now every choice gives me the feel of "it'll be okay, don't worry, you did everything right =)" (except for the reject ending)

>Original Endings clearly did destroy the Mass Portals in every single ending. In every one! Giving the player the feeling to kill the entire galactic system they've learned to love! Yet now in every choice I see portals either being repaired, or at least clear indications that it will be the case in the near future.

I'm sorry but that is just following the mass. If you wanted to do that why didn't you listen to us and fixed the logical errors?
Now it just seems to me you didn't want to officially give in to the crowd, but yet were scared of another ****storm, giving your precious artistic freedom up afterall (which again, is your right as artists and a company, it just feels cheap to me).

Second, I don't really know what I hoped to see in the endings or why I watched them. But what I found is that I actually don't care anymore what you do with the Mass Effect universe, it's dead to me anyways.
And to me that is the saddest thing of all...

Yes. It's not perfect, I would have prefered the Star Ward VI ending where we unite and defeat the reapers. However, the new EC:

Gives variation in the endings (say what you want, the 4 choices are VERY DIFFERENT and represented as such (the different characters doing the narration was a great touch)).
Allows me to kill the reapers.
Allows Ash and Shepard to wind up together (not shown, but may as well be.)

I got everything I wanted from this ending. Now I just want more miri in a DLC.

Before this DLC, I was a passionate supporter of the IT, since as far as I could tell it was the only way the endings could be explained and the plot holes filled, based on what was already there. This problem was addressed in the DLC by eliminating most of my plot concerns, so I can pretty much view the endings in a fresh light.

Now, although I think it would have been cool to see the ME team tackle the IT, I am satisfied with the endings. I actually pretty much love the CONTROL and DESTROY endings, and my only story note on the SYNTHESIS ending is that it involves the complete obliteration of Shepard, who I love. I don't like the fact that as far as I got it, you still obliterate the Geth in DESTROY, but it lends a lot of gravity to that choice, so I can hold it against the team for going the other way.

Of course, I am sorry that we didn't get to see more of our war assets in action, and I would have loved a reject option where you can win on guts alone (although now that it is clear that despite all your effort, the allied forces are still barely enough to give you a shot at getting to the Crucible, I get that it would have been way too superhero-y), but now that the thesis of the story is properly presented, I pretty much like what is there. The circular logic of the Starchild is resolved, you actually see clearly the implications of each choice, and the hopeful scene with Stargazer actually seems like a good conclusion instead of just stitched on.

Overall, I am actually impressed with how the Bioware team went from zero to hero on this in three months. I also have a creeping suspicion that were it not for pressure to meet a deadline by you-know-who, we would have seen all of this from the beginning, and all the rage never would have happened, but you live and learn. I actully went from being greatly disappointed to looking forward to more ME which is pretty awesome.

So, what I'm basically trying to say is thank you, Bioware; check my comments, I never doubted you, even though I suggested a different solution.

Looking forward to more ME and DA. Best of luck and "love you long time"!

P.S. In case it's not obvious - totally forgiven, maybe never blamed :)

It's an improvement (which really puts into perspective how much of an utter failure the original was), but still somewhat disappointed. However, I am reaching a point where I no longer care and can move on with my life. I won't be buying any new bioware games or trusting their brand again anytime soon, but I can move on, which I guess is closure in a sense.

Forgive? No. I can't forgive BioWare for what happened when ME3 was released. Maybe one day, but not anytime soon. However, this is a start, and I am ready to forgive ME3.

They should've known better from the start that this was going to land them in world of hurt and one heck of a mess. That's usually the draw back of a corporation, the ones with the big say aren't remotely invovled enough to have the samrts to make the right calls, while the ones who do the majority of the work catch all the crap.

The new endings are what they are. Is it an improvement? Yes. Is it what this particular trilogy deserves? No where near that mark. This or something better couldn't have come out originally, it would've been higher quality work rather than being confined to download file size. (While a pro 360 gamer here, it is a shame Microsoft has a set limit that's comparatively low considering today's games).

Bioware has earned a little bit of respect back for the effort, even if it was more due to forced outrage versus their own will to admit mistakes. But the over all experience sets the bar vastly lower now for them. While I may still purchase their titles and DLC, it won't be through immediate pre-orders or as soon as its released. I will definitely be waiting a significant amount of time until after release and depend on true gamer reviews versus gamer magazines and sites that clearly must earn some incentive for a positive review.

So... I'll still be a Bioware fan... for now. But as a fan that no longer has blind trust to simply get the title and already know its good.

I don't understand how demanding can you be? I liked the Extended Cut a lot. It made things more clearer for me and, perhaps most importantly, it was give to us for free! So I for one, am very happy that Bioware gave us this fitting ending to Shepard's story.

Before EC I never really hated the endings. Was I irked at so much being left unsaid or there being no real closure? Oh hell yes, but it was never enough to get me to hate. Now with EC I'm pretty satisfied with the closure I've been given, so when Bioware releases story DLC that I have to pay for, I'll probably buy it now.

I would like to point out that they (Bioware) still haven't lived up to the statements on which I bought the game on.

This is what I am looking for: Only what they sold the game on.

They manaaged to raise ME3 to being another good game with a bad ending, and they tried to please people a little. I'll forgive them but not forget. It's unlikely they'll get my money again. I can't trust Bioware to give me the satisfaction I look for in RPGs.
