The refusal ending was quite disappointing.

The destroy ending, with the extended epilogue, was much much better. It doesn't solve every inconsistency but the emotional feel is now quite different and rewarding. Bitter sweet, as it should have been in the first place.

The other endings, I haven't seen them and have no interest in them either...

Enough to forgive... Man, I've been in a glass case of emotion today... Maybe... Maybe...

PS: Replacing the DLC message at the end with a proper meaningful message was a nice move. For that you've earned some positive points BioWare... I need some rest now...

:)

It is a lot more easier now. I'm more or less satisfied with it.

Still plot hole ridden. There is now actual exposition about the catalyst, but its still...you know an 11th hour deus ex machina but its shinier now I guess. The Normandy crash still inexplicably happens even though everyone took FTL jumps at the same time. The epilogue scenes don't actually do anything but confirm what they said on twitter or whatever that everything eventually gets rebuilt.

I'm not going to run out and preorder collector's editions, but yeah. I appreciate the fact that they listened.

But I'm still going to look at user reviews before I buy. At least until they prove that this whole incident was a one-time thing.

No. We should by all means be bitter and hate the crap out of the whole franchise because we've been given free additional content that exceeded expectations of most.

The Catalyst conversation is a million times better, still weird, but drastically improved.

Mass Effect 3; the game where your ending choices are
A) Genocide
B) Totalitarianism
C) Galaxy-wide eugenics
D) Trusting that unity, cooperation, and fighting spirit will be enough, you know, like the first two.

Cooperation is the only one that leads to extinction.
Nice thematic resonance, (not really)

Good quote I saw on Youtube, pretty much how I feel

Yea, I'm satisfied and think they did a good job on the EC, though it should have been there from the start. Just going to hope Bioware learned from this and their future games will come finished right out of the box. ;)

Not enough to actually make me regain interest in the series. A shame.

Here's hoping the DA team can avoid making the same mistakes and keep EA's greed at bay long enough to actually make a game that is not rushed and IS finished.

tbh with all the free dlc and the EC ending, im a happy bunny. Not many would do what they did, though they did get a serious backlash which prompted them. But they took the fans views and tried to sort it out. Weather you like the EC ending or not, at least they tried. Which can't be said by many companys.

This is a difficult one.

Is it satisfying? Yes. Incredibly so. I want to thank the team for making this effort for us.

Can I forgive? This is the difficult part. What has been said in a lot of the interviews since this all blew up has quite frankly made me feel insulted as a long term fan and a consumer. Marketing has been appalling and I still find a lot of EA's advertisement for ME3 offensive.

But... yes, I can forgive. I've simply learnt that I will have to be much more cautious about future titles.

I have nothing to forgive, as long as they give more closure, details and improve the narration I should be fine

I do not care about LI's or Mass Relays. I care about narrative coherence and logic, though. Deus Ex Machina is unacceptable.

The Catalyst scene is infinitely better. Why wasn't this on the disc to start?

I accidentally triggered the nuclear ending by shooting the Catalyst (who's voice then changed to sound a lot like Harbinger). Playing through the rest now, but I wasn't all that impressed with it so far.

I was totally against the original ending, I hated it so much, not a single game made me that disappointed ever. I couldn't divert my thoughts about the ending for a long time, it bothered me for more than a month. Now that I have seen the extended cut, I can say the ending is much-much better, it is definitely an improvement from the previous one, it should have been included on the original release. It still isn't near perfect, liket the rest of the series was for me, but I can finally accept this ending, so I must say good job BioWare.

BUT! I usually buy the games I want, when they go on sale, I rarely buy games on full price. Mass Effect made me buy the sequels on full price, as they were released, but Mass Effect 3 made me to think 'never give this trust to BioWare again'. I'll be waiting for GOOD BioWare games to go on sale, to avoid this kind of disappointment. It was terrible. I buy games to entertain me, but the ending of Mass Effect 3 caused so much disappointment for me, I never wanted to hear from Mass Effect anymore. The Mass Effect series is one of my favourites, so this made it even worse.

Now with the Extended Cut, I finally want to play Mass Effect again, I want to continue reading the books, but in BioWare I'll never trust the same as I did again.

It's... passable.
I'll deal, but really there could be better...
But the worst part is sacrificing the Geth to fall in line with my Shepards beliefs\\
Im sorry Legion... :'(

I'm a PC player, so, i will not download until 5 or 6 hours from now. But I briefly watched "Reject" on Youtube, don't want to comment on that until i play it myself.

I've just watched a full Destroy ending live with Shepard breathing and Ash as a LI. From really bad, the ending is now an average video game ending, so that makes it better, yes. There are a lot more elements for closure, I guess they tried to put a little something for everyone in there, including Krogran babies (!). Instead of focusing on Shepard's fate, on YOUR fate, they tried to emphasize on the effects of your decisions, by illustrating them. I thought the slideshow was rather disappointing, but I take them as some sort of naive postcards that fit rather well with the stargazers, it makes the transition smoother.

I still think the StarKid was ghastly, but obviously, it was difficult to get rid of him at that point. The whole explaining process looked really bad and tiresome, i was already complaining about the Kid chewing my head off, now his speech is even longer, unecessarily detailed. Of course, it was difficult to bring some sense in all that mess to begin with. I've got to say, I just wanted to shoot him in the head before, I know i'll just want to shoot him in the head now.

A lot remains unexplained, a lot remains absurd, but i was pleasantly surprised at the fact that the Destroy option had actually changed a bit from the original, i mean the fact that it had changed, in one way or the other.

On the overall, even though you still don't quite understand everything, the Destroy ending (with Shep alive) concludes on a hopeful, open note, and that's a good thing. At least, it will put some at rest.

I don't know about myself, since i still didn't play, i find it hard to imagine what it would have been like to actually play the EC ending on my very first playthrough. My opinion now will forever be biaised by the fact that I went through the original endings.

The EC won't take away all of the regrets I have about how Mass Effect as a series could have been grand, but it now allows me to regard ME3 as an average game with unfinished features and bloody Diane Allers, a disappointing sequel, but not anymore as a big failure, almost an insult. So basically, I can say now that ME3 and ME2 are largely overrated and settle with ME1 being one of my favourite games of all time.

A game I would probably recommend as as standalone. Still a great game.

I'm glad everyone seems overall positive with it.

My 360 files were deleted on accident (I was fiddling with the system's memory). I have to play though 1-3 to see the new endings.

Not a punishment by any means, but still mildly annoying.
