Yep, 3 RGB endings changed into 3 longer RGB endings+ "sry dude, U got fooled, wait for next cycle."

No changes, no apologies and NO CONCLUSION for a trilogy = nothing to forgive, and the whole ME3 drama is quite forgettable.

They didn't change anything, nor did they add anything to Sheps "Quick Breath" which was disappointing.
But I have to admit, seeing Tali hesitate to place Shepards name on the War Hero list made my eyes water.
Went from bad to average. Which just sounds like a ME4 setup to me...

I think the "Forgive, yes. Forget, no." post most describes my feelings on the extended cut.

I never intended to play again because of the extended cut's release, but did take the time to watch the updated endings online. Having already progressed through my ME3 stages of grief a long time ago, I was actually pretty indifferent- so chalk that up as satisfaction for me. Honestly the changes to the EMS nonsense has me thinking about a second play through way more than the extended cut does.

I can say with certainty though that I will be wary of future BioWare projects from the key members of the Mass Effect 3 team.

Nope. ME3 dies today in my eyes.

Best of luck with Omega.

I agree with you, but every fiber of my being hopes that it doesn't happen.

Forgiven?? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!
had not the backlash been we d still be left with these endings made from pure horse CRAP.

Also do not forget:
they LIED again. they changed the endings!!!!!!
but they did not change them again in our suggestions, (suggestions that were ultimately better than their vision, unable to complete the story after Drew left) but they DID keep their artistic vision.
So i am happy as i MAY replay ME again but NEVER again i am going to preorder , i ll PROPABL:Y buy used.
Bioware was the only one company i bought their games on day 1 , did not wait at all for a price drop, wanted to give them my money, i actually convinced other people to play ME, but not anymore.
i am not harsh at all.
Thney changed the endings, again, they lied again , they changed them to their needs.

What's to forgive? I didn't hate the original endings. Don't hate the DLC either. The entire series has been plagued with plot holes, it's somewhat amusing to me that so many care about the endinnplot holes, but at the same time I get it.

Truth is many people were going to hate the ending because it couldn't give the exact things we wanted.

That being said, I still think we're looking at a ME 4 with the *potential* of Shepard playing a part depending on the ending. I could be wrong, but I'm okay either way, though I'd love more :).

I have never liked the Synthesis ending due to my own disagreements with it. I have played the Control EC and i would say it has corrected alot of greivences but there is a few that remain, more depending on your own point of view

Parts of it were good, Joker fleeing kinda explained...but not enough for me still to many contradictions, and plot holes, the whole Deus Ex Machina overused crap... Sad really uninstalled all three games, done with Mass Effect. Did I want a happy ending, not really expected Sheppard to die, but... ah whats the use... Goodbye Bioware you had good run

Satisfy a small minority of fans, that no matter what you do, they won't be satisfied? You can't reason with them.

I know people seem to think the majority didn't like the way things ended iniitally back in March, but the truth is that not everyone was vocal about the ending. Some people didn't even come out and say how they felt, so we will never know.

Fortunately, for some who didn't like it initially, some of their opinions have changed now.

As for the EA stock drop coinciding with the ending debate? Unless the fans bought EA stock, it's pure nonsense.

Cause BPs share price went through the roof after the oil spill.  Bad press does affect stocks but yes it wasn't the only thing.

That's the point though most vocal people were against it.  I can't remember the exact numbers but only 50% of people actually completed ME2.  They were likely the people who put the time in to complete the game and having alot of them against it is bad for business.

Not...really. I mean.. I do give Bioware and the EC team credit. They did a good job with what they had. I just can't help but feel the people in charge placed them in an impossible position. We really shouldn't be here.

Still nothing has been changed, Still plotholes and still space magic. So no, I'm not satisfied because I already few months ago already said I don' t need explanation, I need anding where everything adds up where i can see all my assets fighting for their future and I don't want Shepard be the one who decides the future but the EMS is actually the way to get ending. If everyone in the galaxy fights besides me the we win the war against reapers without super duper spacemagic shooting weapons.

The ending just made me realize how much of a ****** the Catalyst is. I mean, he has to be the worst AI ever created.

In short, no.

Said longer, from now on - in gaming terms- the names Bioware, Casey Hudson, et al. will, for me, forever be synonymous with "Personal Judas."

The question is, what is our reaction of forgiveness.

Pre-order another BW title without double checking it first? After all the drama, EC isn't going to make me do that.
Refusing a BW product even after hearing it's really well done? Well why should I do that anyways.

So in a sense forgiveness doesn't matter that much.
What EC matters is that EC did not fix the ME universe for me to see it as worthy to expand, so probably I won't care for future ME3 DLCs or future ME games.

Yes. Very much yes.

They even had the heart to change the ending message from "BUY MORE DLC NOW!!!" to an appreciative thank you for supporting us message.

Buzz Aldrin and the kid are still there, Starbinger is still there, and there are some things that still don't make sense but I'm glad to say that Mass Effect ended on a less then perfect note (unlike 3 months ago's wtf just happened)

how to put this midly..... HELLL &*(^ NO!!!!!! Bioware continues to neglect the player base. I really don't care about retake omega or me4 at this point in time if you guys want me and the rest of the player base to care, you can start by dumping the entire ending and give us a proper boss fight with harbinger. TIM is a second banana compared to harbinger who chased our asses in me2. No more star child is a plus no dues ex machina ending is another. +1 for indoctrination theory as it still stands as a better ending i.e. he never stepped foot on the citadel. Biotic powers don't magically disappear after getting hit by a beam.

I am disappointed, but then again I knew what I was in for. I'm not looking forward to future Bioware titles if they just discard good writing in exchange for "art" again. I'll be keeping my eye open but I don't hope to see much.

They failed to fix the actual problem the ending had, as such the EC is average at best. My only hope for satisfying stories in RPG's is looking to other companies. Bioware has lost the charm I found in them when I first played DA:O. Hope the people that did enjoy the endings have fun with future titles and their love for the universe is rekindled. All I got out of it was disappointment and a slap to the face basically saying that the company is essentially indifferent to me as a consumer.

I'm curious why this wasn't in the original game. It was actually quite good. Still tons of plotholes, but oh well. At least we now know that, all the races arent stuck in sol.

Yes. Absolutely.

I know there are still some people who yell that they hate the ending, but I think they were expecting the ending where Shepard rides off into the sunset with his/her chosen love interest. I don't hate that idea, but isn't it kind of implied if your EMS was high enough that Shepard survived? You know, after most likely years of rehabbing from the numerous injuries he suffered and maybe getting a new set of bones (as the ones in his body are most likely now a series of splinters that vaguely resemble bones if you were to reassemble them) or a wheelchair. Seriously, look me in the post and tell me he wasn't most likely crippled from that impact.

I still don't see where my choices mattered in the Extended Cut. Clarification is not the same as Closure. And a better explanation for why the Reaper's do what they do for instance would have gone a long way.

"Hey, I'm an AI from the race that created the Reapers and we unintentional broke the cosmic program. Its this program that defines the Universe and its because of our medaling the Repears are stuck in a loop of distruction and chaos. We have the power and means but we can't help you.Only the Crucible can repair the damage and make it right."

lol, no. People want ending to have narrative coherence, you know? They want good writing, not Deus Ex Machina. They do not want last minute choice to override the previous 70 hours of gameplay. They want Mass Effect to be Mass Effect, not cheap Matrix parody. They want to be respected by company they give money for product. And yes, they want to have multiple endings which include Shepard riding into the sunset. Just as the option for him to die or to be crippled. That is what people want.
