Many people said they would be happy with an ending that was some future cycle discovering Liara's archive. Bioware gave them that.

Edit: btw I accidentally did this one my second play through by turning around and shooting starkid in the face while walking towards destroy lol

The only one I have done is refusal. So when Bioware shows the player stats it will have one more for rejection. The rest I youtubed.

I don't see why Bioware couldn't add a Reject ending that had a bittersweet victory if your EMS was SUPER high. Strong losses for the galaxy, but dammit all that had work you put into the game(s) actually paid off with a legit win. That one addition could've made the EC perfect in my eyes.

Are we actually 100% sure that DOES NOT exist? I am EMS like 6400, how about you?

What shocked me more is that the calm voice of the ghost turns grim and evil, indicating theres something more to him than he wont tell us

I've long held that the crucible's chosen form is OBVIOUSLY either A) an attempt to emotionally manipulate Shepard by the Catalyst when he should distrust it, or B) an attempt to emotionally manipulate the player into trusting a character they have zero reason to that backfired horrendously.

Turns out it was B.

I was around 6300, but I've heard that people with 7000+ got the same ending. Maybe future DLC will include enough assets to hit 10000 and unlock the ending?

Why are people so pissed about the reject ending? The whole Mass Effect story revolved about the galaxy NOT being able to defeat the reapers in a conventional war - if they could why all the haste with the crucible?
Okay I admit there could be a bit more cinematic for this ending but still I think it's plausible and logical.

What actually wonders me more is the fact that the taller perrson in the stargazer scene is actually an asar ( or did I see wrong? ) - I mean, I actally need to presume all dead, so how can there be an asari?

It's still a 'satisfying' ending, of sorts. The modified stargazer dialogue suggest that while Shepard choose not to use the crucible thus did not stop the reapers in that cycle, somebody else did in a future cycle thanks to Shepard's efforts.

I avoided all spoilers prior to playing the EC, and as soon as I had control of Shep back on the Citadel, I turned around and popped two bullets straight in Bratalyst's head, expecting nothing to happen.

I laughed so hard, I got a migraine. That's not even an exaggeration.

Same here ^^ I was like " well lets just try this " - and BAM - right in my face ^^ It was actually pretty satisfying that Bioware got me so hard by surprise ^^

Felt like a massive slap in the face to me.

Felt like the star Child was Bioware saying, your so stupid to not accept our endings, ok then we'll just rub your nose in the failure with this 2 minute soundbite of Liara saying that everyone is dead.

Hardest one to watch for me was the reject ending.

I love it. I think it completely debunks the indoctrination theory, which is probably the purpose of the new ending. It clarifies that IT was load of rubbish from the start.

Of course the people who spent the last three months preaching IT and flaming everyone who didn't buy into their delusions, predictably hate it.

I think it was like Michael Richard's "n" word joke. It wasn' inherently supposed to be offensive in his head, but there was no way it could come outany other way.

My interpretation of the stargazer scene, is that they used Liara's data to ensure that they never grew to a high enough technological level that would make the Reapers target them. Liara and this cycle didn't know enough to beat the Reapers without the crucible, and in the time capsule thing, she states that it didn't work, so why would they try it.

But how can it be an asari if all organics have been wiped out?

Agreed. Its the only ending I actually kinda love. Just due to the fact that Shep stays true to his/her beliefs. You might want to run to your bunker, the IT crazies will be after you now.

I don't get why people are convinced that this is a punishment of any sort... it's exactly what you'd expect when you don't use an amazingtastic superweapon on an unbeatable enemy.

It wasn't an Asari, was it?

Evolution often takes the same paths, so it may have bore some resemblance to an Asari, but i doubt it was intended to actually be one. Plus, the child sounded like a boy.

Gah, the more I hear about the EC, the less I want to play ME3 at all... SP or MP. :crying:

I dont regret downloading it or going through the end again.  Felt good to be able to give spacebrat the middle finger, even if it didn't work out how i'd like.  This isn't the ending I'd prefer....but it does avoid a character assasination of my shepard and I'm willing to live with it.

Explain why the starchild had the voice of Harbringer then?

Because the Starchild is the collective intelligence that controls all the Reapers so thus he technically IS Harbinger. Everything Harby has ever said to you has been him, starchild. There is no greater meaning to all of this, it is how it is presented. BioWare messed up, come to terms with that.

Well, in the Dark energy plot the "reapers win" ending had a purpose, this one not so much, Shepard should have had at least tried to destroy the mastermind TS, and i don't mean by shooting an hologram (maybe calling a nuke toward the citadel :P).
In the way that it's played, would have been worth a try the control option, because even if the starbrat lied, it would have been better than doing exactly nothing, and i don't see Shepard just give up like that.

Said so, i'm perfectly ok with it resulting in a total loss for this cycle.

It's not really harbinger's voice honestly...just a reaper distorted one.  He even admits in the extended cut he's a collective of the reaper conciousness.

Also,  Indoctrination "theory" should have died months ago.  It was obvious a long time ago bioware never intended it.  That being said, it's still my favorite interpretation of the ending, even now.  Great thing about interpretation:  it doesn't have to hinge on what the artist originally intended.
