As an accounting student. I want to thank Bioware:

For providing the world a brilliant case study for business students to discuss at universities about how a company can fumble and then destroy a cash cow, and in the process alienate your evangelical consumers and offend the majority of people who bought your product, thus destroying millions of dollars of goodwill built up over a decade.

I wonder which account Bioware accountants use to offset the millions of dollars lost in goodwill in their accounting software. Which one does it look like?

Artistic Integrity  $16,000,000
Goodwill                             $16,000,000

Or

Goodwill Write-off  $16,000,000
Goodwill                              $16,000,000

The third game had so many things set up to bring a satisfying conclusion, but was ultimately fumbled. Kudos to the writing team who tried to salvage the weak, broken, and thematically revolting endings. Unfortunately its not the writers who get to decide Bioware business practices, by offending the majority of your consumers, brings an end to this franchise.

I do want to let everyone know I have a gift. I can make everybody I talk to, the vocal minority that disliked the ending just with my presense. That includes my group of friends, groups of people who aren't my friends, random EBgames employees I have never met, random people on the internet from random countries who I don't agree with on anything else.

Its a curse though. In my real life and on the internet, I haven't been able to find one of those people in the vast majority who liked the endings. In the last 4 months. In random conversations with people I don't know or don't like, or are completely different than me, maybe its just a regional and international thing, which is where all the vocal minorities are.

Thanks Bioware. I am a minority in real life, I'm glad I'm also a vocal minority swimming in a sea of vocal minorities. Its like how Mexicans are a vocal minority in Mexican politics.
