How do they know for certain Anderson is dead and not Shepard?

He died when Shepard shot him...supposedly controled by TIM somehow...

Yes but the normandy crew don't know this, they're stranded when they're in front of the memorial wall.
Afterwards they set off.

They wanted to preserve indoctrination theory, which would require that they do not show anything after this scene.

I would of liked to see Shepard get up then survive until he died, like a Spartan (Cookie goes to whoever gets the reference).
