Female character... first one i have made in an RPG. Was intrigued by the female city elf orgin, so i tried it.

My first creepy moment as a guy playing a girl char happened in Ostagard. Said to Daveth if he watches my back I will watch his... I should have run my sword through his throat.

I am a bit afraid of getting Oghren in my party now. I may not make it

Bah. Separate yourself from the character more. Surely, you didn't feel weird when watching Aliens. No?

Well now you get to see things from a female perspective!

Enjoy. :)

I mean what... are you afraid of becoming gay (not being gay is a bad thing) or something ? o_O Besides, they are not talking to you. They are talking to your character.

BTW. On my second playthrough I've chosen a female human noble origin. I didn't realize how cheesy Alistair can be during romancing him. If I were a girl in RL I'd probably couldn't stop laughing at him (cruel of me, I know). Do we guys eally behave like this in front of girls we like?

Maybe this will help: Pretend you're the guys that want the woman to do certain things for them instead of pretending you're the girl, then make the woman do those things like a dirty, dirty pay-for-play flop-house floozy. :)

I wish I could make a male toon, but I just cant. It feels so wrong on so many levels that it takes all the fun out of the game for me. I. Just. Cant.

*sigh*

haha, just wait till you and alistair roll in the hay. I admit this game pushes the boundaries of me playing female toons. most rpg's there is no difference between male and female characters. It's pretty much meaningless to play a female toon in say world of warcraft. But this game with romance options makes it kind of weird. But I like to experience the entire game, so...

Yes, actually you do. The funniest thing in the world is when you propose a girl.... I can never stop laughing at that part

I don't get those feelings at all because its not me its just a character I created in a game. I used to love watching Xena Warrior Princess so imagining a "hero" type female character is not that hard really. Also because I want that character to be able to experience the game to its fullest she will even have to try out some of the romance options, otherwise I will be missing all that pure gold dialogue when the party starts to talk about the PC's relationships. Again its just a character and yes I can be happy for her when she accomplishes things in the game just like I would be for a male PC. I really see no difference.

The one place it might make a difference is in an MMO because people in MMO's seem to think there is some way that you can actually have sex in the game and once those thoughts are breeched I don't want any part of it. However I used to play Dark Age of Camelot with a female friend, we had known each other from a previous game Ultima Online where we had played together for several years, with tons of other people as well because Ultima Online was without a doubt the best game I ever played for roleplaying, in that game my PC actually had a virtual life no doubt about it. Anyway getting back to the friend I played with, she nearly always had male characters because she said it stopped all the kids from hitting on her characters and she could just relax and play the game. We did get some strange looks when we hugged once in a while though...hehe

He handled himself pretty well, for a 25+ virgin with no post-pubertal experience with ladies that does not have a wow of chastity. The templars are sexist <_<.

Get me some sword grease!

I found it too hard to get immersed with a female PC myself. It's fun for a while but you tend to get a little distracted from the gameplay by watching your toon's swaying hips.

It would be much easier if the PC was voice-acted, which would make it more cinematic. But in the end it's best for the ladies to play it in DA for a more immersive experience.

Ok, the gay/insecure argument is ridiculous.

It was simply creepy trying to figure out what a girl would say

Haha Jabber, you're not that far off, in a way you might even be in touch with your "Feminine side". xD

My wife also played as a city elf lady, and then proceeded to kill as many human males in Ferelden. But then again, I did bore her to death by buying her Sims 3 xD

I loved flirting with Daveth. When i told him I'd watch his back if he watched mine, I was smirking, thinking I'd like to get a look at his backside and he totally went there. I was so sad he died before I could tackle him in the bushes of the Wilds.

My opinion of Alistair changed completely once I made a female character and spoke with him. With this guy in my avatar, I thought Alistair was a pretty funny, cool guy. But when you play a female...ugh, he gets all weird. The "25 year old virgin" thing is really apparent. I felt bad for him.
