Zevran takes rejection well. Lilianna takes a while. Alistair is very hard not to have a relationship with. If you handle him correctly, you will get approval bonuses from him for shutting the relationship down. But you may have to shut him down more than once.

If you are female, he has a dialogue that says he prefers women to men, but he is open to every and all possibilities and has indulged many of everything.... does he say the same thing to a male character, or the opposite, or skip this all together?

And as for Alistair, DON'T talk to him if you don't want a romance. Seriously. Spam him with gifts and make choices he likes to raise his approval but don't iniate conversations.

You can just make fun of Alistair too if you talk to him. You generally don't lose a lot of point and you can gain them back easily through actions or gifts. And if you don't do his personal quest, I don't think he will get up to the 'love' level

Well I didn't say anything about that, now did I? If you don't want him to reach 'love' status, don't do it. I was under the impression that he wanted to avoid the romantic ending with him, is all.

You don't have to the quest, you can leave him 'soft', you know, like a cotton ball.

I imagine he would be rather uncomfortable in the Warden Commander Armor is you get him at 100% approval
