Eh, I enjoyed playing a couple female characters and I am very much into rping male characters since I am a dude. I based all three female characters on women I knew, collaborating with them from time to time to check on certain big choices.

I had fun being in their headspace. It was a roleplaying experience.

For those that care, my wife, our girlfriend, and a dear lesbian artist friend who loves heavy armor and big swords were the mental donors for my three chic characters. So my wife had me playing a naughty flirt and she wanted her character to have as much sex as possible which was Lynn the Mage, Rose was firey and sassy redheaded rogue, and Ser Langley was a honorable swordswoman.

So yea, it was rather fun. Do it for the experience, not to creep yourself out. Enjoy their headspace instead of dragging your own problems into it.

The only female character I've played so far was a city elf warrior lass. I tried going the whole "despises humans" route but there aren't really many dialogue choices for that so I went back to the ol' philandering male noble character. Couslands for life!!

Shouldn't be too hard. It'll be like kicking a puppy. A sick, amputee puppy.

Oh, there is some (human hating), just not as much as you'd think ...

"Your thanks means nothing to me, human lord!" I picture her spitting on the ground after saying it, too. LOL

Thats is absolutely the worst thing in game. I always end with him just out of pity, I cant stand him making those big puppy eyes at me and pretending he doesnt care. Grrr.

That behavior sometimes works for me in RL

edited to add -> you can ask Duncan to come back to your room in some of the origins, his responses are amusing.

yeh that was funny to see.

I am a bloke in RL and usualy play through RPG's with a female character first. So I kind of know what to expect from certain lines, Davith did not disapoint though when we talked about watching backs.

Daveth was your first creepy moment as a City Elf? I was more bothered by Vaughn when he first appeared. I still get squicked just thinking about it.

Yeah I was gonna say, seriously, Daveth was the first creep-out moment as a female city elf?
Honestly though I think you need to really establish a mindset for your character if you want to successfully rp them, and remember Daveth hitting on your pretty little city elf is not him hitting on you. A beautiful elf girl walks up and says "watch my back", if you were Daveth you'd have gone for the innuendo too.
That said as a city elf it's very understandable for that character to feel offended/creeped out by a shem hitting on her after the whole Vaughn incident. Run with it if you want, maybe the events of the city elf origin ended up turning your elf girl off of men entirely.

Point is, do your best to leave your perceptions behind and establish a different set that are the character's, you are making the decisions yes but it's up to you to decide if what you choose is based on what you as a player think or what the character would think. Try to have fun with it, it can be very interesting to think about things from a different point of view.
