Hated the original ending...The Extended Cut made me fall in love with the series again. Everything is so fleshed out this time around, it just makes sense now, at least to me.

I couldn't say it better. I just rekindled my love of Mass Effect 2 by finally downloading the Cerberus Network, and I plan on completeing at least one complete playthrough of the series for the sake of playing the game.

Thanks Bioware

Yes, thank you Bioware.

I already understood the ending, so the EC just expanded on what I already knew. I thought it was a very intelligent ending and beautiful. Thank you for all your hard work for giving me probably the best game I've played this generation. Can't remember the last time a game had an emtional impact on me.

:D

I gotta say, I didn't really hate the original ending but I wasn't enthusiastic about it either. With the EC however, I can faithfully say the ending was absolute bliss. This was the true ending ME3 should've had. Good job and many thanks Bioware! High five! now go make more dlc, I need moar Mass Effect 3!!

Ok i'm gonna to be honest with all of you my friends. I hated the original ending. My god how terrible it was. The more i was thinking about it the more i disliked it. I was very curious about the extended cut but also afraid. What will happen with my favourite universe? All I can say is thank you. This dlc might not be that much. But what you did with it is enough to completely change the perspective of the ending. I'm not gonna spoiler, but after choosing destroy ending i felt more and more happy that i've won the war. I really felt it now. And by the end i even shed a tear. Although the ending is still not perfect not even close. It is now good at least and it is enough to save mass effect universe. I don't care what haters will say. You wanted changed whole ending? Well. Too bad because from the beginning it was not possible. Your choice. But I am again now very happy. Happy that i believed in Mass Effect and given a shot for extended cut. Now what i will do? I will check other endings of course, play whole series again and i will wait with heartbeat for the next part of Mass Effect universe. And to all true Mass Effect fans. You should do the same. Cheers guys.

I LOATHED the original endings. These made me feel good about the series again. There is no "perfect" victory, nor should there be. I can overlook a few of the odd moments because overall they give me the closure I was looking for.

Thank you for your efforts, and I look forward to the next ME adventure. I'll be there on launch day.

The only problem I see with all of these endings, is that a game can't really take place after the events of Mass Effect 3 anymore. No matter which ending you chose, the galaxy was so drastically altered that any future-timeline games would be almost completely foreign. If they made the Synthesis ending canon, for example, everyone would be walking around with green eyes and stuff.

So I guess any new Mass Effect games will have to be prequels?

Good job guys, would have like perhaps a scene with little blue babies from that "gift" but that one can still happen in my head :D much better than before, didnt hate the old endings just was more of a "wtf, one of these endings -_-" reactions. Now i just gotta twiddle my thumbs (or start a second charrie) and wait for the "maybe happening" DA3.

Mass Effect will go down as one of my favorite video games series of all time. I'm still feeling the effects of the ending that I chose. Such emotion over a video game. When a game company manages to have people shed tears or for me it was more of a hard lump in my throat, it's truly a remarkable achievement.

I have to throw in my thanks as well. I don't think I'll ever really like the Catalyst storyline, but the ending I saw was much better fleshed out and there were some really beautiful moments that pulled me back into caring about this series.

My only real complaint is that seeing Shepard breathe again during the extended destroy ending just made me want to have a new game right now so I could play through another story with her, in this great universe. It was just a bit of a bittersweet moment knowing that probably isn't likely.  ^_^

I hated the original ending. It was full of plotholes, out-of-character displays, and just lousy writing. The EC did manage to fill in a lot of the plotholes and somewhat negate or explain the out-of-character actions by Shepard and Joker. But the lousy writing is still there. The GodChild is still just a horrendous plot device. They were willing to change some things, so why not the worst part of the ending? The relays and Citadel no longer explode. Joker flies onto the battlefield to pick up your squad(yet somehow is never blasted by Harbinger) before being ordered to take off. The Normandy no longer crash lands. Etc. But the catalyst is still that stupid freaking GodChild with his nonsensical logic. It's almost infuriating.

EDIT-And why are so many people saying they take back what they previously said about the original ending? Bioware basically had to be forced into making the EC. They didn't do it because they wanted to. Us fans complaining and pointing out how awful the ending was is what GOT us the EC. Don't apologize. Revel.

Indeed....thank you bioware for your effort and understanding. Now if you would kindly make some new post-war dlc for us to explore our new future that'd be great.

I have reopened my wallet.

Still crap. Still illogical bull****.

- the citadel is part of the catalyst -> why did the catalyst not open the citadel as mass relay portal to let the reapers in after me1
- circular logic still in the game -> reapers harvest organic life to prevent them to be killed by synthetics
http://www.mememaker...emes/185475.jpg
- no coherence, no good storytelling -> still a new antagonist appears at the end of the story to solve the situation

Waiting to see the rest of the still existing plotholes on youtube.

Please don't think I'm trolling or anything, but I would also like to offer a heartfelt "Thank You."

I always had a belief that if a project team could go back and redo somethings of their work, it would greatly improve the work itself. The obvious example is the Matrix trilogies, Lost series finale or Phantom Menace. I always felt that it was fun to mock it, but in all truth, if the creators took the time and resources to make tweaks and adjustments, these storylines franchises could be salvaged.

I actually believe you did the best you could with what was presented to you, but you have helped me realize that if it's inherently bad, there is no way to fix it. I'm sorry for whoever shoehorned you into these endings [I'm sure you'll defend him/them or whatever], but the bottom line is that if you don't like something, it's best to just abandon it altogether before you linger longer than you should and regret not dropping it earlier.

^ THIS. I love the EC but I totally agree that had the issue not been brought to the table so passionately as it was, we would not be able to have the closure many of us are finally receiving now.
