I'll add my thanks. I wasn't too bothered by the original ending, but the EC is just great! Well done!

Hated the original ending...The Extended Cut made me fall in love with the series again. Everything is so fleshed out this time around, it just makes sense now, at least to me.

I'm downloading it right now, but this sentence I think almost made me weep. Everyone is loving it... and...

I loved the EC, but I'm not okay with the fact that EA needed a massive ****storm to let Bioware finish their game, the "original" endings shouldn't even exist, we all know what happened.

That said... I'm sorry Journey, but now Mass Effect 3 is teh GOTY 2012   ^_^

Thank you, that's much better.

You managed to salvage the series for me and I may even start buying comics again.

The EC definitely redeemed the franchise in my eyes.

I wouldn't. The Enemy still hasn't fixed OMD, and the Lesser Enemy hasn't fixed New 52.

To the Enemy and the Lesser Enemy: this is how to listen to the audience.

Wow...I am *almost* at a loss for words.

I chose Destroy; Tali was my love interest, and I had 95% Paragon with 6000+ rating. The EC brought me everything I was hoping for. The touching, sad goodbye between Shepard and Tali, an explanation for some (not all, but enough for me to be alright with what didn't get resolved) of the plotholes, and an ending I can feel good about. Plus, Shepard survived. It doesn't get much better than that.

Some will call us Bioware fanboys and fangirls for being happy with the EC. Let them. I'd rather feel the satisfaction I feel right now than the bitterness and anger they're experiencing.

Thank you, Bioware. You've redeemed yourselves and gave us back Mass Effect. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You did the impossible, and that makes you mighty.

Agreed. THANKYOU!!!!

There's a bazillion ending differences now, there's so many variables now that actually show up! There's still holes, and there's still the corner cutting and lack of campaign (make SP DLC asap please, would lap it up, for somewhere inside the current story, not after) but I think you've got an ending that people who've yet to complete it will love, various endings actually.

For me, you rushed it, the damage of the first playthrough with the original ending won't fade annoyingly. I'm stuck with it, that sort of "tarnished" feeling. However, I take joy in knowing that I delayed my big bro long enough - he finally got it recently, near the end as of right now, so he'll get a proper ending! I held the line! :P Hard to appreciate the end fully unless you've sat through all the hours before up to that final climax unable to stop playing, I won't have that but others will. I envy him frankly, wish I'd waited.  Still, hopefully in a year or 2, I'll sit down and play it through with new DC and characters, all the way to a glorious end. Got to be honest, I can't wait hah.

Learn from it Bioware, PLEASE! And thanks again. Respect :)

I was a big fan of the original ending. The tone was much darker, but essentially when I connected the dots in my mind I came to the same conclusions that the slideshows show us. So the major difference with the extended cut to me is tone, and I have to admit that I love the fact that each of the three (or four if you count the Bartleby "I-would-prefer-not-to" "ending" haha; I love that Casey Hudson said "SO BE IT!" to the people who wanted to see the consequences of that) endings each have their own distinct tone. That is what was missing from the original ending. The spoonfeeding of spelling out exactly what happens next isn't something that interests me so much, I could take it or leave it, but the soundtrack and the imagery for each of the Control, Destroy, and Synthesis endings was just brilliant.

Well done Bioware, I'm glad that all of the fan whining actually had a payoff and that you didn't compromise your bittersweet ending when all was said and done!

P.S. I don't play renegade Shepard, but damn was that Control speech harrowing to listen to when I watched it on YouTube.  That was one of the most epic, ominous, badass scene of all time in Sci-Fi.

I'm not a fan with the whole "3 Endings" and "God-CHild", but it was very well-made, and now you've made a 17 year old young adult sob his eyes out. BRAVO, BIOWARE. BRAVO *slowclap*

Well, it didn't exactly wow me, but it's at least an ending that's worth getting to now. It's better paced and gives a greater sense of a story closure. I'm still not happy with the direction they took the ending but I don't cringe at the idea of playing through again. The unfortunate thing is most of what they added wasn't the kind of clarification that was needed. Most of it was fairly "captain-obvious" level of explanation. I'll admit I was expecting clarification on a much...deeper, level.

Ah well. It was well made and balanced dark and hope quite adequately. Not about to give a standing ovation though.

Thank you Bioware for adjusting the EMS to make it possible to see all endings without MP. That should have been the case from the beginning but I am still thankful that you all adjusted it.

Now I can go play MP whenever I want to and not because I am about to complete a SP campaign.

In light of me spending 3 months of protesting and hating on ME3's ending, I found the EC to be...acceptable. Is it perfect? No. Does it improve the ending sequence? Hell yes. All that matters is the fact that I can say - with 100% certainty - that I can replay the Mass Effect series without getting severely depressed; for that alone I believe that you guys (Bioware) deserve praise (despite your actions causing this whole fiasco, but don't take it the wrong way).

All in all, hopefully all of us, both Bioware and fans alike, have learned something from this mess - myself included. I know that having my emotions jerked around by ME3's original ending turned me into a hate-spewing, pessimistic parasite on this forum. Not because I wanted to see your company suffer mind you, but because I was literally watching my favorite videogame series crumble before my very eyes and could do nothing about. It was heart-wrenching. So for what it is worth Bioware, I apologize. Not for speaking out against your game, or for criticizing your endings, but for the way I went about doing so. I definitely could have carried myself in a more appropriate and professional manner.

But that doesn't mean that I completely forgive you. ME3's ending hit me hard. Like, semi-truck head-on collision hard. Never again will I blindly pre-order your games as I have been doing, but neither will I stubbornly refuse to buy them out of unnecessary spite; I will simply wait for fan reviews and make an informed decision from there.

Sorry for ranting for a bit, but these past three months have been hard on all of us. More than anything I wanted to love Mass Effect again, and with the extended cut, I believe I can start again.

TLDR: Thanks Bioware for releasing the extended cut so I can play Mass Effect again, and sorry for the way I handled my non-stop *itching (even though it was justified).

Edit - yes, my post is sloppy and doesn't flow well. But it is 3:30 AM, and I had to redo the ending because I shot a certain character (that was actually pretty funny now that I think about it ) so I don't really care.

Yes thank you. I can now turn my back on Bioware knowing full and well they are a bunch of lairs that don't listen or really give a damn about their fans. its all about the "speculation" AND "ARTISTIC INTEGRITY". Maybe some day when Mac, and Cassey have been let go, Bioware can get back to making good games that aren't ruled by the ego's of 2 people.

The original ending didn't satisfied me - there were too much unanswered questions, not many emotions from the main characters and it was too short after such a great game with such a deep story. Well, it was definitely a different ending compared to other endings, but it was one which really disappointed many players who expected something big at the end or at least a typical Hollywood ending (which wouldn't have satisfied me either).
But with the EC it is one of the best endings i've ever seen in video games in my opinion. It's still a special ending with questions, but most of them were answered. I really love the changes and the very emotional cutscenes. This is the only ending i can imagine that such a perfect trilogy like Mass Effect deserves; so THANK YOU BioWare!
