Thank you Bioware the EC was better in some ways and worse in others, basically i am a little disappointed as i was expecting better and was fine with the previous ending.

I have only done the destroy ending so far but i will be checking the other endings on youtube and see what i think.

Actually I don't understand that people fall to their knees and praise Bioware for trying to fix something they had broken.

Hey guys, imaging you buy a new car and after you run out of gas you realize that the car has no fuel tank cap. What do you do after you car salesman has the car repaired? Do you fall to your knees and thank him? Tell him how great he is, because he repaired something that should not have to be repaired?

The EC was the least thing Bioware had to do. Obviously they released the game too early.

Acutally the EC fixes nothing. It's the same ****ty end, just better explained.

Thank you, that's much better.

You managed to salvage the series for me and I may even start buying comics again.

I wouldn't. The Enemy still hasn't fixed OMD, and the Lesser Enemy hasn't fixed New 52.

To the Enemy and the Lesser Enemy: this is how to listen to the audience.

My translater just glitched.

Anyway I'm on my second playthrough with another shepard with the ec and aiming for a different ending.  It's not so depressing thinking about the final mission this time.

There’s no doubt these past few months we rough for many and ironically, BioWare and fans underwent similar predicaments (albeit with varying levels of abuse and pressure): both were widely ridiculed and criticized for their positions, while caring passionately about the ME universe. It no doubt left scars on both sides, but today, as a fan, I am humbled. Humbled that BioWare had the humility to listen to its fans, to the extent that they managed to provide us with an ambitious EC that satisfies a wide range of fan demands.

I doubt any game will ever surpass the Mass Effect series for me, and I am grateful that I now have a fitting, replayable, satisfying grand finale to this amazing trilogy.

So thank you, BioWare. Truly.

I did not love it, I did no despise it.
The strong points are mostly the cinematic quality, the low points are in the absurdity of the script.

The strongest point is, that in the end, there IS a feeling of accomplishment and there is diversity in them...
and this gives the first two games the re-playability back, which was gone after the original endings...

I still consider the third to be the weakest in the franchise but it is now at least acceptable and for that I thank you guys: for giving me ME1 and ME2 back...

So, this seems to be the thread I was looking for.

Thank you people at Bioware for the great work you did with the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut.

Over the last couple of months I've said, time and again, that I couldn't disagree more with the writing when it came to the last couple of minutes of Mass Effect 3, and while this is still true - the final confrontation and choice still feels wildly out of tone with the rest of the series - this piece of DLC is all that I could (realistically) hope for.

To be honest, I've been a little weary as far as the EC was concerned. You have, after all, decided to stick to your guns, and I've been unsure as to how it would even be possible to make the ending even a bit more appealing without drastically changing everything that happens after "the elevator ride".

But then you went ahead and did it. You polished the final minutes of the game to give your players more freedom and the ability to question the choices that've been laid out before them, and everything that happened after that final choice carried the same emotional weight that made the rest of the series so special.

I recognize that the overwhelmingly negative response must've been a punch in the gut for all of you who worked hard on bringing this game to us, and that the subsequent fan fallout was no less disappointing to you than the impact of the ending was for some of us - even more, probably, since many people on the internet tend to display a certain... lack of civility when feeling angered or disappointed.

So I hope this gesture makes up for it, at least a little. I recognize that you all listened closely and worked hard to bring the Extended Cut to us; from the community people who sifted through thousands of forum posts and message boards to determine what the community really wanted to say to the people who executed and put together this amazing piece of work.

Thanks for going this extra mile.

To all those who now feel that I need to be put in my place; those who are in any way angered or feel I shouldn't be happy with what I got in the EC, I would really appreciate if you could do that via PM or in another forum thread. This one here is to say "thank you". I'm ready to discuss - and defend - my opinion, but this really isn't the place.

it seems that people cant get over the original unfinished ending....

My guess is that if this was the original ending people wouldnt call it horrible or **** or anything else, because it would make sense from the first time.}

Im glad that Bioware listened and, well made EC what i actually wanted it to be - explanation to some of the plotholes, i didnt hate the original ending, but it was with too many holes attached. Now i can turn on my ME 3 and say ''Best god damn game every with a really good almost perfect ending'' not a game with ending that puts your 100+ hours of gameplay spent in the series in the crapper.

Although I was quite happy with the original ending and basically just got my assumptions affirmed it was worth it. The changing of the text-box after the credits was just perfect. But only thanking for the extended cut does not do BioWare justices; thank you for one of the best scifi-series I have ever experienced!
Now, make more awesome games!

I don't think BioWare needs forgiveness. I think they had already done what they promised. Even before they released this new DLC had they done a fantastic job.
They have never deserved all your rage or all the cruel words so many of you have thrown at them.
I can't start to tell you all how much it pains me that so many of you complained like this.
There is nothing constructive about the way the message has been delivered to BioWare. And that is what makes me so sad about it all.... :(

As someone who was fairly satisfied with the original ending, thank you for creating this free piece of DLC that MASSIVELY improved it. Not only are a majority of the plot holes filled in now, but even the Catalyst makes more sense thanks to the increased exposition and the extra footage at the end adds that little bit extra closure. It would've been great if the slideshow was in-game footage instead, but it's understandable you chose to do so considering you completed this in less than 3 months.

So the ending went from a 6/10 to 8/10 for me, and not only did you not even have to do it, but you did it for FREE. So thanks, BioWare. I genuinely appreciate it, one human being to another (to whichever staff member eventually gets around to reading this thread). :)

A very sincere thank you Bioware!  The new endings are tremendously better than the original. They provide some clarity and closure to one of the single best stories ever.  I felt moved in the end, instead of confused. You truly have created a masterpiece, rivaling and exceeding the best even hollywood has to offer.

You are one of the few, perhaps the only, company right now that takes feedback to heart to please your customers - and you deserve to know we appreciate it!

I always liked the endings. But I also liked the EC. I appreciated the extra conversations at the end (I won't say what they are to avoid spoilers in this forum). The EC didn't really add anything much though for me. Perhaps that is why I liked the endings before. The original ending left some questions/holes that I overcame by making some assumptions. The EC basically turned my assumptions and made them into cutscenes and dialogue. Reflecting on the EC, it doesn't trump or change the original ending, it simply explains/expands it a little. Overall, I thought it was well done (especially considering the quick time table they had to get it out).

Yes, thank you for the EC DLC.

The ending is not good enough.  Thank you for the hard work on this.  It was much easier to say goodbye to Shepard and his crew with this ending.

Thanks again.

The EC ending was what I have been waiting for. It was the best ending they could have come up with, imo. However, there was one thing I noticed. At the end of the credits and stargazer cutscene, when the ME Bioware team thanked us for taking the journey with them, they mentioned how they looked forward to working with us on future ME games. Does that mean that there will be a direct ME3 sequel, or just more games set in the ME universe? Anyway, I really did appreciate the the new ending, and to you people at Bioware, all I can say is thank you for providing us with the ME games which we all have grown so fond of. I truly will never the characters, plot, setting and most importantly... Shepard. I'm almost sad to say goodbye. Job well done.
