Agreed, EC was too late and it didn't fix the endings being a mess. Worse is that Bioware decided to take a jab at their fanbase for not liking the skittle choices.

Your freedom of speech is boring and doesn't contribute to nothing except blind hate at this point. Good thing most of you won't be able to talk when next BioWare game release as now the forum are lock for buyers .

Article was good even if I dont agree.

Bingo.

EDIT: Also the actual article doesn't slam it nearly as much as the title suggests.

Wow. One of the Forbes writers or editors must be a big and serious Mass Effect fan for a magazine such as Forbes to write so many articles about the ME3 endings. But overall, I approve of their take. I am glad that at least one journalistic entity didn't kowtow to EA like IGN did.

Please. That article's title should read "Mass Effect 3's Extended Cut: More than People Deserve."

Definently. People should be happy they got anything.

I didn't demand anything, but that doesn't limit me from criticaly evaluating what I am given.  If my conclusions leave me unsatisfied then they are valid for me and should be taken that way.  I'm happy they "tried", I'm not satisfied with the result but I'll admit it is better then what they had (though compleletly bowling over IT wasn't to cool especially when i find the alternative to still to be deeply flawed), and I'm dissapointed in general since I had previously held Bioware in high esteem for being awsome, so sue me.

More then anything else, just dissapointed.  ME3 could have been so much more then it is, the LOTR of Video games, but alas not all things are meant to be.

I personally thought IT was a copout, and didn't really buy into it, but admittedly, it would have been a way to get around StarBrat, which 99% of people -- IT'ers or not -- hate, without retconning everything.

Overall, good article. 20 bucks says they'll at least see a huuuuuge drop in pre-orders for DA3 (or any future Mass Effect games) ... as they should. They want to cater to the COD fanbase, fine. BioWare is like the In Flames of video games. Time for Dawnguard.

No need, most "fans" did it for us already. Now we need a boat. :wizard:

I agree with Paul Tassi, it was nice, other than the obvious dick move with rejecting the catalyst, but not by nearly enough.  It still wasn't all that good, even though it was worlds better than before.

You don't have to believe in IT to wish it was true. Would have had less plot holes than what we have now. It got better for sure, but as I expected this time, too little, and they said they wanted to give closure, but Destroy lacks it. So, like a nice bandaid to a broken finger. (Nice "game over, you don't like our options" screen for Refuse >.> ok I get it BW XD I lol'd)
I'm with BlackDevil06, I expect more for my money and from game devs, like I do with other types of products (yes, even art pieces).
Even if I wish everyone could have different and clashing opinions without all the silly fighting here, but 'tis BSN after all.
I might love Oransel for that Bioshock speech though. I actually think if fanfiction writers (the right ones) wrote the game it'd be more polished.

It is a shame that despite fans giving Bioware a "get out of jail free" card they chose to "clarify" their Deus Ex Machina instead.  I can't think of a consumer base more willing to give a company a second chance than the Bioware fanbase - they didn't just beg for the ending to be changed but offered suggestions and solutions.  That amount of dedication to a franchise takes a lot to be destroyed, but Bioware's PR department proved they were up to the challenge.

As for the Refuse ending, I found it to be a hilarious parable that everyone should play through. It foreshadows Mac Walters future career in the gaming industry.  To think it only took one game for he and Casey Hudson to topple Molineux as the most hated creators within the industry is an achievement in itself.  As the saying goes - you reap what you sow.

And remember, reaping is just a paternalistic form of kindness to save us from being reaped, by reaping us... I recall something being said about saving organics from synthetics by killing organics every 50,000 years... Posted Image

I agree with the article though, it was a wasted opportunity to do something great through IT, although I still appreciate that they at least stitched up the old literal interpretation, which was simply broken.
