I've only known about mass effect since the summer of 2010 when I got a copy of ME2 used from gamestop.
I always liked sci-fi and space operas and the universe you created was the perfect space opera universe. an amazing blend of realistic physics with just enough fudging to make for a speedy and interesting narritave while preserving a lot of the real world physics. I don't know if a better job could have been done.
Then with the limitations of light speed effeciency to a single cluster, but with the mass relays available, you made the whole galaxy accessable but still a mystery. Then the job BioWare is best at-character connections.
I got hooked on ME2, sinking over 50 hours in that week. I had to have more, so I started reading the Mass Effect books and eventually got the original Mass effect game. The itch for Mass Effect 3 got soooooo bad before it was released.
The original Mass Effect 3 ending had me sitting there in disbelief, the people I helped, the galaxy I fought to save, the struggles all amounted to chaos no matter what.
The Extended Cut fixed the freefall the galaxy was depicted to be in.
For this closure, and amazing completion of the most amazing work of science fiction, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Dear Bioware, Thank you.
