I agree with that sentiment. But in order for a happy ending to flow naturally and not seem tacked on, it needs to feel like a natural progression. Shepard and waifu riding off into the sunset does not seem like a natural next page in this story. Shepard has sacrificed everything to get to this point, and suddenly she gets to live out her life in comfort with little blue babies or whatever? Talk about a thematic 180° turn. Shepard has already DIED trying to stop the Reapers once. How do we get from the theme of Shepard's endless string of sacrifices to suddenly winning the lottery? That only works if all you care about is your iWife, and not the overall continuity of the story's theme (which is, of course, botched anyway). But hey, if you're drowning and cheese, you might as well pour on more cheese...

The same we get to those abortions that are the current endings. These endings aren't natural progession. (Especially not Control and Synthesis.) And yeah Shep dying twice is cheap. So yeah.

The only ending "drowning" in cheese hilariously enough is Synthesis. But hey YMMV.

I don't like Synthesis either. Why do people think I support Synthesis?

i'd pay for this as well - it was the thing that truly irked me about the EC, when it was otherwise good.

Only part of the EC that really sucked bad.

Sorry but no downer endings aren't any more artistic and good than happily ever after. Both can be done horribly and both can be done well. "Dark and edgy" doesn't make something good. Doesn't even make it necessarily interesting.

In this case it wasn't done well IMO. At all.

So don't buy the DLC.

On the topic of natural progression; I would be fine with some shark-jumping/space magic so that Shepard could survive the explosion (plus isn't the Citadel scene in the destroy slideshow being mostly intact during reconstruction? I might be wrong but I remember it being in destroy) and have the reunion months or years after the fact while/after recovering in a Lazarus Project 2.0 kind of situation.

To me the EC came as a pleasant surprise. I liked what they did with all of the endings.
But leaving the reunion out of the destroy ending however might have made it subpar to the other two three endings (call it lack of closure, emotion, or that "je ne sais quoi").
So to put it short, yeah I'd pay for it :D

man people are never happy. They have no notion of what a noble sacrifice is or the fact that Bioware WANTS this to be the end for the Shepard storyline.

i don't know about you guys, I want something fresh from this series. I want SP content to include the ability to be a Turian, or Asari, or Krogan, that is not just from Multiplayer.

Be happy your favorite characters (well, most of them) including your love interest (i think) lives to tell the tale of Shepard. We all knew this was going to be a hard fight, just let go guys.

no!

I'd pay for it.

And I don't even care if it sucked balls, I just really need to see Shepard reunited with Kaidan after that scene I had to witness.

It's the only thing I was looking forward to, and now we don't even know how he survived or where he is.

Wouldn't be a good move. It would require people to take the Destroy ending. DLC has to be stuff that everyone can access.

Sigh no no no there are to many variables that have been created by the endings and EMS ( which is good) for bioware to create a reunion DLC

If it makes you feel any better data from the extended cut has dialogue from up coming DLC form all squad mates including dialogue regarding romance

Well, you never know. If we're lucky maybe they'll tack on an extra epilogue saying that Shepard reunites with his/her crew and throw it in as an update or attached to one of the future SP dlc's.

It would have just been easier if they had shown Shepard gasping for air before the Normandy crash landed, then have the LI take down Shep's memorial plaque from the wall and do that subtle smile whilst they fly off back to civilisation, suggesting that they'd just found out that he/she was still alive, which would defininitely confirm that they do indeed reunite, and remove the current plot hole about how they found out that Anderson was dead. They wouldn't even need to bother with an extra epilogue or cutscene if they'd done that.

Hmm, while I'm for this, it'd do nothing but alienate the Control/Synthesis/Reject supporters. It's seems pretty obvious that a reunion happens in High-EMS Destroy, just offscreen. I mean why'd they even bother showing and making the breath scene if they weren't going to outright say Shep survived? Because that pretty much seems to be the purpose of that scene from where I'm standing.

Not necessarily - it could involve the team going on an adventure to try and find Shepard post ending, but they only find him if destroy was chosen. It'd kinda be like the Witch Hunt DLC for Dragon Age - those who truly appreciated it the most were those who did the ritual, but it was made broad so everyone could enjoy it.
