refuse and destroy

refuse because it's the real mass effect ending (but shouldn't end that way) the only ending that
shepard is really shepard throughout trilogy

destroy because it had the same feeling as halo 3 ending.

I'd pick reject if it actually did what I wanted it to

that is, allow the next species enough time to figure out how to beat the reapers

but as jessica says, it actually just has them build the crucible and do everything you just rejected. so, it's a kick to the nads from bioware and nyah-nyah-nee-boo-boo from casey hudson.

thanks guys. we could've fixed everything with love from both parties, but instead there's only hate.

Refuse was just another tool used to shove the endings down our throat. Its nothing but a fancy "Game Over" or "You Lose" message. BioWare has this stupid "my way or the highway" mentality.

(1st)Control: It works with any personality and could be continued, you become the reapers you gain knowledge and power unequaled in the universe and you use that power to protect. I could imagine using so much technology to create a body that you could inhabit it they wanted to do that. My favorite because I thought of it a long time ago playing ME2.
(2nd)Synthesis: Linking all life giving everyone everything they needed. At first I disliked it because the lack of choice you gave other people, but other choice is death and you are making it for everyone. I like it becuase it was the happy ending, but I hate the idea of a world without conflict so I don't pick this one.
(3rd) Destroy: Kill the reapers kill anything that isn't alive I don;t like this one. It stops the reapers, but in the most costly way you kill the geth and as a legion fan that was enough for me to hate you kill EDI also hate you leave everyone alone the most and worry more about your own good then the galactic whole not the way I played my renegade so it just didn't sit well with me.
(4th) Reject: You refuse to do anything you let everyone die you let the cycle of galactic death continue, and for what so you can tell a hologram no. I liked this one I felt it was a shot at the IT people that just hated the ending because it wan't good enough for them.

I said at the start of this mess that Halo 3 was Destroy done right. I don't think the EC is quite so epic as that, but I see where you're coming from.

Reject. My Shepard would not choose any of the original 3 endings. Actually, my Shepard would kick that kids ass and find his own way of destroying the Reapers. But that's not an option so whatever.

Reject is the only one that makes sense, and the only one that at least gives the satisfaction that I made the decision. It also reveals star brat's true colors, which confirms that he's the genocidal killer that everyone could already tell he was. No chance I'm going to go along with one of his solutions.

Even so, all four endings are still very weakly done and a disgrace to the rest of the series.

I still perfer Destroy because:
1. The stinkin' Reapers don't deserve less than death.
2. This is the only ending that allows a future reunion with your LI (although it is very unlikely).

Destroy. My Shep unified the galaxy to kill the reapers. There's only one way of doing that.

And honestly, I like the ending now that it's fleshed out, the galactic community isn't destroyed, and Shep is going to reunite with his LI. Sorry blinky flashlights...

I still lean to destroy.
I'll have a playthrough, though, for every ending XD
And I actually like the touch of Refuse. The heroism of Braveheart in a way.

I reject the choices you've given me in the OP.

Head canon.

I refuse to murder EDI and the Geth and I refuse to 'refuse' and kill everyone. The other two choices are too abominable for me to even consider.

Reject, even if it is a big thumbing of the nose from Bioware at the fanbase. It's the only one that makes any real sense and doesn't involve space magic.

1) Destroy - Because it truly feels like a victory against the Reapers. Shepard has made those giant squids and their boss pay for the countless lives lost and also freed the galaxy from their control. The races can now rebuild and decide the future on their own terms. Shame though that the Geth and EDI were lost, but it adds a bittersweet note that I like.

Oh and it's also the only ending where Shepard may still be alive.

2) Control - Shepard wins, at the cost of losing his/her physical form and achieving a higher form of conciousness. He/she now controls the Reapers and uses them to rebuild the galaxy and protect those he/she left behind.

But the whole things feels very ominous. Shepard is literally a god now. Who's to say he/she won't start the cycle again?

3) Synthesis - Quite simply, Shepard loses here. The Catylyst achieves it's aim of uniting organic and synthetic life, irregardless of the many lives lost. Life in the galaxy may have reached a higher form of being, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The one saving grace in this ending is EDI. Her narration on how she no longer feels alone is heartwarming.
