Mike Gamble let it slip that Shepard's renegade status affects one of the endings. (You can probably guess which one, but I won't say it anyway.)

So there are five choices if you consider that you choose to play Shepard either as Paragon or Renegade.

Control.  Geth and EDI live, I become a god. There is no other choice that compares in my mind.

Before the EC, I thought control meant I would just be a "don't kill stuff" program lost in a giant hive mind. But with the EC, it's clear Shep still essentially himself and in complete control.

The implications for the future are great too. I can use indoctrination to feed leading scientists technological breakthroughs, improve diplomacy, achieve galaxy wide golden age all at the tip of my hands/tentacles.  Civilizations can repair faster and develop even further than before.

Destroy

Control

Reject

Synthesis (which, amusingly, even screws itself up in the extended cut: "we couldn't force it on the galaxy, so we'll let you do it instead. That's how horrific it is")

I'd pick reject if it actually did what I wanted it to

that is, allow the next species enough time to figure out how to beat the reapers

but as jessica says, it actually just has them build the crucible and do everything you just rejected. so, it's a kick to the nads from bioware and nyah-nyah-nee-boo-boo from casey hudson.

thanks guys. we could've fixed everything with love from both parties, but instead there's only hate.

Where the hell did that get sa-

...no, wait, let me guess. Twitter?

Destroy is still the best. Though I think refusal has some appeal in it too(Shepard stays true to his/her ideals).
Control became slightly more attractive with the EC though, but still a no go for me.
And Synthesis is still a piece of crap(now with loads of saccharine).

I still lean to destroy.
I'll have a playthrough, though, for every ending XD
And I actually like the touch of Refuse. The heroism of Braveheart in a way.

Refuse, I am Scottish.  Even though most of the events in Braveheart are rubbish.  The battle of Stirling Bridge without the Bridge.:pinched: Defiance all the way.

Destroy.

The more I watch synthesis, the more creeped out I get. That was too freaky for me. And control is just...no. Don't wanna be a god. I like to think that EDI and geth can be fixed/rebuilt in destroy, and Shepard can be saved.

Destroy just because the other two go against everything we were taught to be against.

Ah, and if my Shepard chooses control - it's because his first and last order should be: "Reapers, fly into the nearest blackhole!"

Destroy, the Reapers are dead forever and no chance of them coming back. Best for them to stay dead, who knows what god-shep will think thousands of years down the line or if advancing too quickly ala sythesis will mean someone will try to take control over the reapers just for more power.

Control ending master race reporting in. I knew it was the best choice all along. Haha, feels good.

Just wondering which ending do you guys prefer (and what order) after youtubing/playing through the EC?

Me?

Control
Destroy
Reject

Synthesis still can go jump on a nuke. That was a flowers and bunnies cavity inducing ending if anything was.

I think for me would be:

Destroy - What my Shepard would probably choose.
Reject - What my Shepard would probably choose
Both destroy and reject have a rebel feel to them, but they feel more paragon/paragade to me.

Control - I think Control works best for a very Renegade Shepard having heard Shepard's speech.

SYNTHESIS DOES NOT EXIST! It is the stupidest thing ever. Seeing a hamster with a green eyes doesn't make it synthetic. It makes it strange!

Still destroy, but if synthesis had a live option, I'd probably go with that one honestly

Having initially chosen "Synthesis", after seeing the extended cut ending for it, I kinda like it less, even though it is definitely pitched as the "best" ending. All those glowing green eyes (and living husks...) make it unnerving.
I'd probably pick "Destroy" next time round. "Control" is eerie. "Reject" seems like a slap in the face.

Destroy, because it's the only one that makes sense.
Control is dumb because it's all sugar coaty and "TEH REPARS R OUR FRIENDS NAOW!"
Synthesis is dumb because it's just as sugar coaty and from my perspective (a biology student) is total B.S. The M.E. series was damn legit up to that point in terms of biology but THAT I just can't fall behind.
The reject ending is a big slap in the face to the fanbase that wanted another option.
You're gonna have to pull out some REAL magical stuff out of your ass if you want me to buy anything else from you, Bioware.

I think I'm still destroy, even with the Indoctrination theory dead. But the other 2 I don't mind as well. I like destroy because there is always that possibility of you and your LI being together again. Which means more to me than anything lol seems selfish, the other two choices change ****, destroy you're just like 'LOL **** future generations, I'll be long dead then'
I like the voice-over for control, and before I just hated be notion of it because I was sure it was a trick because Shepard was already indoctrinated.
Synthesis... well... it's creepy.

Reject is not even an ending, it's bioware trolling us... they're basically saying, if you don't like a crappy written ending then you can just fail the game.

I love refusal, mostly for the entertainment value and the fact that someone used it as a way to take a massive shot back at fans for the last three months. It's not even about the game at all, which makes it even better.

wait. can you go to more details? how is it a response to fans? how is it not about the game?

Destroy: less space magic, shepard survives, is what Shepard wanted since the first game... but EDI and Geth die. I hope they can be rebuilt and somehow obtain consciousness again. As Hacket said, rebuild. The quarians may help.

Control: Shepard is now a God. Ewwwww Just no.

Synthesis: destroys diversity, asumes that synthetic and organic cannot coexist, asumes EDI and Geth weren't alive before this merge party time. What is worst, it seems huskified people become self-aware again... god, that's a nightmare I don't want anyone to live.

I thought people just wanted a Reaper victory ending as in the original game there was no such thing and they said the Reapers could win.
