When we learn that Wynne's student is still alive and find him, we encounter someone who should be motivated to aid in the struggle against the Blight, but instead chooses to sit in the woods by himself.
An option to get him to join the party would be excellent! Elves are under-represented in the game, and it would make perfect sense for him to become a party member. There would not even be a need for a side quest, as we know most of his story, though encountering a few fanatical templars still on his trail might be a worthy side bit.
Idea for new DLC - Wynne's student

that would be great, i mean..you get 3 warriors well 5 if you count shale and dog, two rouges and two mages, i think we should get atleast one more rouge and one more mage so we get more to choose from, i support this idea

You get one dwarf, one elf, a dog, a golem, a qunari, and 4-5 humans. How are elves under represented?

Considering that dwarves are reclusive, golems aren't made any more and the qunari empire is on the other side of the world, its acceptable to have one of each of those. Elves, however, are large in number and live with the humans.

Yeah, but they're elves. Being poor isn't exactly a prime adventuring skill.

They're either tightly knit clans of isolationists who avoid everyone else, or they're poor second-class citizens in ghettos who are forbidden to have or train with weapons. Not exactly a lot of potential elf recruits in Ferelden. Unless you mean yet another elf from outside Ferelden, which would obviously be straining credibility.

A Dalish elf mage would be a very feasible party member.

Why would the Keeper/First leave their clan to follow the Warden?

Actually, the ability to play as a dalish magi (keeper) would be much sweeter, adding not only access to new lore but also presenting a view of casters without the chantry or circle's supervision.
As for ideas, you could start your origin by becoming the new keeper of the youngest tribe of Dalish. After being raided by shems, the previous keeper passes defending the tribe and you become the keeper. Inexperienced but powerful, yoou try to lead the clan away as usual but your whole tribe is ambushed by darkspawns and you are the sole survivor. During the ambush, wardens who sensed the large of darkspawns arrive but too late and offer you to join their rank.
