Hey there.
This is a question, mainly regarding Mass Effect 1 and 2, but perhaps a little bit about Mass Effect 3 as well.
When fighting our enemies, a LOT of them turn out to actually be Humans. And not just a lot; the VAST majority of the guys we fight actually turn out to be humans.
So why exactly is this?
When I think about it, I had expected Turians and Asari(and maybe the Batarians as well) to outnumber the humans by miles).
So, why are there really so many human mercs?
Are humans just the most badass fighters in the galaxy and everybody wants as many humans in their outfits as possible, or is it just because they couldn't be bothered adding more models?
Why so many Humans per Turian, Asari?

I think it's more due to WHERE you are traveling. In ME 1 and 2, you are spending most of your time in Systems Alliance space, the Terminus Systems, and the Skylian verge: places other races usually ignore due to their danger, but that humans choose to colonize. And in ME 3, the non-Reaper organic enemies you fight are all humans because they are Cerberus: an all-human organization.
Either that, or it's just easier for game purposes to render human models rather than the other races.

Nope, if you look at the section of the galaxy ME1 is mostly set in, it's outside 'council space.' Humans are trying to settle it at the council's encouragement rather than settle more council space areas. This is the basis for a lot of the politcal bickering in ME1.
Anyway, the result is that the settlers, pirates and so on in that part of the galaxy are mostly human.
Edit: The nope was for the OP, not the chap above me!

I know the enemies in Mass Effect 3, they made all sense to me, so I'm mainly asking about the previous titles
