I will first say I was one of the Paladin's when it came to hatred for the plot hole ridden ME3 endings that were first released with the game, but after playing through the EC, I must say that even though we didn't get the  candy and cupcakes that a lot of us wanted (IE: reunion/HAPPY ending), I myself am very satisfied now.  I feel like the synthesis ending was the best one for me because the years of work that was spent towards saving EVERYONE finally paid off.  Yes, Shep is gone, but no...he's not dead.  In my mind, since he is a part of the code(the same as everyone else), I can easily be satisfied with the idea that he could re create himself to be a part of his squad's life again.  The EC didn't show that, but it sure as hell could imply it since everyone is linked.  That's just my sigh of relief positive rant on what Bioware did in the EC.
