Maybe it is because the Reapers were never the bad guys

Turning entire species into slushies and then using said liquid to make more giant squids?

Yeah. Definitely not bad guys. <_<

It is all a matter of perspective. Do you eat meat ? By your logic we are the worst possible beings in the galaxy, being as we industrially exterminate millions of cows, chicken, sheep, lambs, pigs etc. etc. every year for centuries, doesn't that make you a super evil being ? Doesn't that make you a Reaper only on a smaller scale (not galactic, but planetary ?)

Wow. You're actually using eating meat as an argument? You some sort of vegan advocate? There is no comparison between the two. Humans eat the meat of livestock animals to survive. Reapers forcibly transform sentient beings into mindless drones (husks) or break them down to genetic sludge as building material for a new Reaper. The key word here is 'sentient'. Do cows, chickens, sheep, swine have any sentient thought? None. If they had sentience, they'd be protesting our treatment of them. They'd be be filing for animal rights at some tribunal to recognize their stand against being turned into tomorrow's dinner.

Human beings and the other races of the ME universe on the other hand are sentient. They have free will and with it along with a drive to advance themselves, and with that they'e built a society with laws, culture, technology and other byproducts of civilization. Do you really expect the sentient races to just stand down and let a threat like the Reapers take all they've built up and accomplished and tear it all down? Do you expect them to surrender their individuality and free will just so they can become part of the hive mind of your standard variety Reaper? Or have you forgotten Mordin's arguments against Reaper augmentation in ME2? When he marked it down as not only  the death of single Prothean, but of it's society and culture?

No one other than Shepard knows about the other choices, so as far as the general public knows, the only other option was death by Reaper.  If I was in their shoes, I'd accept synthesis for what it brought: an end to the Reaper war.

I agree, I am pretty sure noone would decline being superior in every way possible, having a computing power of a super computer, greater strenght, agility, vitality, sight, hearing etc. I sure as hell would welcome all of these things :)
