I think synthesis is creepier than before, if possible. having reapers as "friends" almost made me throw my controller away. It seems a complete nonsense to me, on all points. This so called utopia freaked me out.

Why did it freak you out ? Did you want the ending to be gloomy, depressing and dark ? Then choose destroy with very low EMS and without the EC.

I just don't understand you people sometimes :/

So, you lost all your family to reapers, now you smilingly work side by side with them and it doesn't bother you? That the impression I got from synthesis ending. That peace and mutual understanding was arbitrary forced on both sides, with space magic and didn't came because we made a conscious choice, or because we (as all of the people in the galaxy) made an effort (we did made an effort in making peace between Geth and Quarians which made it very satisfying). Because someone took that choice from us, took away out free will, even if it is for a moment. It was really sad to see all the beauty of different eye colors replaced by same green.

And like I said earlier in this thread, you've gotta be an evil mother[bleep] to choose synthesis.

What the hell is with that attitude ? How can anyone consider synthesis a bad ending, HOW ??

I think people who dislike Synthesis don't understand it, things like "there is no diversity", "space magic" and "galactic rape" just show how limited your view on the subject is

How so?

It's not "rape", it's "genetic recombination and the production of an offspring you didn't know you wanted".

I make the decision to forcefully go into your body and change it without your consent. I do this to every living thing in the galaxy.

I. Go into bodies. Without. Their. Consent.

Synthesis has gone to me anyway from morally repugnant to so utterly retarded it's hilarious.

The madness!

Yeah, perpetual peace would be great... but do the ends justify the means? In Synthesis it seems like you fundamentally alter everyone's brain chemistry or give them a space magic lobotomy.

I'm not sure if anyone has seen Demolition Man, but Synthesis always reminds me Simon Phoenix says: "You can't take away people's right to be ****s! That's who you remind me of... an evil Mr. Rogers."

That's basically what Shepard is in Synthesis, an evil Mr. Rogers who forces invasive, unconsented-to surgery on everyone in the galaxy for the purpose of achieving peace. And lets be honest here, that brainwashed peace is only guaranteed until pure synthetics are once again created.

Thanks but no thanks

So the changes are not in the body.

Why did they show the DNA-like molecule? I went through all that work to get a new suit for everyone in the galaxy? What, for better raves?

but your forcing them to change, one of the theme's to Mass Effect was galactic diversity, Synthesis basically goes against that and makes everyone the same

This.

Also, shepard does exactly the same as the reapers. He wants to transform and decide for the people who can't decide for themself.

His mission since the beginning was to destroy the reapers, not to rewrite the organics.

Come on, Starbrat contradicts himself on Synthesis. "This is where you're headed, it's the best option. But it can't be forced on organics, they have to come to it in their own time. You should totally force it on them though."

/sarcasm

Ah, that feels better.

You have no clue at what you are talking about. Your attempt at sarcasm has failed.

I know exactly what I'm talking about and you have absolutely zero grounds to say otherwise.

Do you need me to spoon feed it to you like Bioware?

It's not that I find Synthesis creepy

Oh ho ho! It's creepy as flying f*ck ! That scene with the husks looking toward the horizon ... uh what happens if Husk #560099213b wants to swing by home to pickup the kids ? Krogan/Turian "Brute" blobs have time share weekends on which planet & family to visit ? Is there some sort of gooey meta intelligence wifi going on ? Seems all Reapers knew what happened, everyone was pretty cozy about it too ... does everyone know what birds, trees & the coffee machine are thinking now too ? Recycling electronics & computers now homicide !? What about the synthetics running the space ships, transport vessels & personal transportation ? They alive too?

80's movies had better writing & thought provoking advice

The Extended Cut DLC is briliant !
I chose Synthesis again and it was so touching so perfect so GLORIOUS I can't even begin to describe it. I am lost for words, EDI's sad face when she hugged Liara, Reapers helping rebuild all the worlds, the Krogan, seeing unmasked Quarians ETC. ETC. ETC. EVERYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THE EXTENDED CUT

p.s. Moderators, would you be so kind and tell the BioWare team that I really appreciate all the work they have done and that I love them from the bottom of my heart ?

Again, BioWare, you are my champions <3:kissing:

I love this ending for me is the BEST!!!! Goodbye Shepard :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

Ps. In this ending the Shepard's DNA is part of the everyone? Maybe Shepard took the form like the catalyst?

Don't care about the positives of synthesis you are still forcing people to change on a genetic level with out their consent plus the slides were bloody creepy imo.

Especially Miranda. My God, the horror! The Horror of that face is utterly nightmarish. Honestly, what did she do to deserve that mutalation?

Does it look like they don't want it ? Does it look like everybody is commiting mass suicides ? Maybe it is because Harbinger was right that only if you are ready for it you will be joined, that means that everyone actually wants this, they are all ready and willing to make this change.
What if I told you that I can reinforce your bone structure so that you can lift 2 tons and run at 60 mp/h no problem ? Would you say no to that ?

Synthesis was always their love child. You know despite raping the entire Universe into becoming cyborgs without their consent and becoming the Reapers little toy. Instead they made it out to be the ultimate ending when really it isn't.

-_- Once again Synthesis-haters are too stubborn to even look at the potential benefits, they can only look at the negative aspects. 'It MUST be bad because I say so!'

The reason why I hate the synthesis, and think that it is clearly the worst and most inaproriate part of the ending has nothing at all to do with it's consequences.

The reason the synthesis is so bad is that it is NOT SCIENCE FICTION. It's genre breaking. It is something that belongs to a fantasy game, because it is pure magic, with no even remotely plausible mechanism by which it would happen.

The EC actually made the synthesis ending worse, because it just emphasized the fact that it's a fantasy ending - the "explanation" on how it works invokes some sort of "life energy", a concept which was completely invalidated and debunked by science more than a century ago.

It would have worked, and I'd have had little complaint, if Mass Effect was a fantasy game series, but up until that point, there's been at least an EFFORT made at keeping it remotely plausible with the appropriate techno-bable.

To anyone who actually cares about their science fiction being somehwere within the genral vicinity of plausibility, the synthesis ending is an insult.

You know, 500 years ago if you told people that people fly across the continents and that Earth is round, they would laugh you out of the town or burn you where you stand. Now you took their position and call everyone who likes Synthesis heretic...

PS. I forgot that quantum entaglement and biotic fields are super scientific :D
