Whenever I try to open game add-ons either through Origin or by clicking the downloadable content option in Mass Effect 3 I get an empty window. I have restarted Origin several times and it has not helped. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

I messed around with it a little more and it turns out I was able to get it to work by deleting the Origin folder in c:\\Users\\username\\AppData\\roaming. Hope this helps if anyone else has trouble.

I'm having that exact issue. I'll try that fix out and see what happens.

Update: That fixed the issue, thanks so much!

Thanks riv84. That worked for me too.

Update: I needed to download "Resurgence" pack too. So I started that download and accidently closed the "Games Add On" window. So far, there was no problems as the "Resurgence" pack downloaded. But when I clicked on the "Shop for Add-Ons" button again, the "Games Add On" window was blank again. I had to delete the Origin folder again to see the EC DLC. Posted Image

I have this problem with the add-on's blank.

I've tired the bioware tech support chat and they have bounced to me a closed thread.

Why haven't any moderators responded here?

Because it is an Origin issue and BW has nothing to do with it. I had this problem a few weeks ago, support escalated it three times. I then upgraded to Origin 9 beta and the problem stopped. Now it's back. There is probably something wrong with EA's servers.

Another symptom: I can't seem to open www.ea.com using my web browser - the page times out on me every time. help.ea.com is working. The server where DLCs are stored (web.dm.origin.com or somthing like that) timeouts as well. Origin 9 does not display an empty window, it says "Temporarily unavailable".

The workaround with the Origin folder did nothing.

So, the Firefight pack is out and the Addons window still shows nothing. EA apparently does not want my money or something :)

Thanks for the response! Thats awesome. I did a packet dump while running the report and I noticed that all the EA servers appear to be hosted in EC2. The packet dump showed all my connections are being reset. My guess is that the instances are not running anymore or at least not with the same public IPs as before. I also tried to connect to these instances from various servers including other EC2 instances and couldn't connect.

So.. from all of this I can conclude that nobody knows how to fix this issue :(

Hey, guys.. Just wanted to report how I got this working.. I went into the origin client and filled out my details such that I filled in my surname and set an avatar picture (of the Avatar) and then I was able to download Firefight Pack. I can't imagine why this made any difference.

I don't expect it to work next time I try, but at least I have the firefight pack :)

You, sir, are my hero. You just won the internet. It seems account details play a huge role here - I had my privacy settings set to "No one" and "Show my real name on profile page" disabled (what can I say? - I like my privacy). The moment I switched to "Everyone" and enabled "Show real name" the window loaded normally.

I also happened to reapir the game installation, but that should not play a role here.

I contacted the EA tech support and asked them to escalate the issue - why should privacy affect DLC purchasing? They did it, so we might get a patch for this nonsense in the future.

Btw, hosting this on EC2 is just plain wrong in my oppinion. Just remember the EC2 crash from last year (I think) when 10% or so of all the data was not recoverable.

EDIT

Ok, scratch that. the REAL solution is to leave your privacy as is, it does not play any role after all. It's the Change avatar picture that's the answer. Just open the change avatar window, wait for it to load and then open "Shop for addons". Voila! Btw, I use Origin 9.0.2 beta.

And may I add that this is even more stupid then the privacy idea. EA, your client is not beta, it's pre-alfa.

EDIT 2

I get consistent results with opening the "Change avatar" window, then closing it after it loads. Did several checks and re-checks. Might be, Origin 8 behaves a little different here.

Yes, I've had this blank add-ons screen problem with every new DLC in Origin.
Thanks very much! This worked for me too. (Changing my details in Origin.)

# No, I added a <space> character after one of my names. Did not change my picture.
