Edit: I suppose that Orzammer, the dwarf city, is technically not a part of Ferelden the country, though it's located under it and is in the Ferelden geographic region. Does that count?

Not true as they spent all that time developing lore, game mechanics, rules, engine, etc. =)champofflame wrote...
but it took bioware 5 years to make this game. We will be like 30 when they release dragon age 2.
We will probably see an expansion or a sequel in less than 2 years... At least I would like to think so.

They don't need to write thousands of years of background lore, the combat mechnics, the engine, and a multitude of other things.champofflame wrote...

Ferelden will be large enough to give you 80+ hours of game time if you plan to do all the side quests and other additional things we might find in the game. This game will not be similar to JRPGs, just trust Bioware and enjoy the ride. =)champofflame wrote...
well convince me that the environments of ferelden is big enough to satisfy my rpg needs. Lie to me even if you think it'll be average size. It just looks small compared to the entire continent of thedas. i want to do a ton of grinding the same zones. I really hope the zones are big, not like last remnant's small ass zones.

The world is made up of zones, there are transitions between zones. Zones usually have a theme or objective to them but usually the zones have alot more to them than the primary objective.
For instance, there could be a village and the area's surrounding the village and a hidden cave to the east.. you can explore this zone and find hidden side quests and do bonus objectives but all you're required to do is talk to a group of npc's and stop for a drink at the tavern.

Generally, BioWare games have a linear beginning. This is your Origin story + The Battle of Ostagar. There is some exploration, but not too much, though I think there are quite a few side quests.
Then, the world opens up. You have a choice of several zones, and the game becomes non-linear. Each area is a large map that you can explore, with a lot of side quests, nasties to kill, and pretty things to look at. You go through all those zones, seeing the different content. This is the bulk of the game, exploration.
Then you have the ending arch which includes one or two 'end areas' with some side quests occasionally. During this time you'll reach a Point of No Return, in which some NPCs or the game will make doubly sure to tell you that if you go beyond this point, you will not be able to finish any of your quests. Then you have the BIG IMPORTANT BOSS BATTLE.
DA:O has a playable epilogue as well, then you're done. (though they have made it so you can use DLC if you finished a gameplay already through a save game)

It's not really the same style as Sacred 2 Champ.. I can't think of many games to refrence with a similar style of world making other than NWN and Baldurs Gate.. if you haven't played those then it's kind of difficult to describe.. lets see..
