I've always been able to run ME3 fine at the settings I am currently using. However, right now the menu is running at some 8fps, and the game is even lower, making it unplayable.
I've tried playing some other games, and they all ran fine (including Crysis, which is more intensive). I've tried disabling Origin in-game. Neither seems to have worked. Even on the lowest resolution, it is lagging.
I haven't played for a couple of months now, since before Rebellion came out, so it could be either Rebellion or Extended Cut that is doing this.
Has anybody else experienced this? How can I fix it?

same issue here.
after installing the EC i got serious lag effects in both single and mp. and the sound is just as annoying as it stutters all the damn time.
not only do they give us more bull**** to add what we already got but they find that they have to screw up the game to even play as well... way to go bEAware.

Yep, after downloading the EC, my main reward was epic lag.

Anyone had any success in fixing this?

Have a similar system but only lags during certain cut scenes. You should try to add useVsync=False and SmoothFramerate=False to the bottom of the [SystemSettings] section of the GamerSettings.ini file. It's your documents under BioWare\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\Config

I'm having the exact same issue. I used to be able to run the game great with all bells and whistles, but now the framerate dropped to below playable levels. The main menu is choppy as hell, and in-game it's even worse. Sound apparently isn't keep up either, as there's constant stutters, clicks and pops. The game really is unplayable like this.
mrbkazoo's suggestion does not help.
We need a fix for this! Any ideas?

Strange, you have almost the same specs as me and I don't have any problems at all.Kantor480 wrote...

try these basic things first before you do anything else
Restart pc, is the game files defragged, run as admin. latest drivers for nvidia the 301.42 work really well for me3. is your windows up to date? the INI teaks for v-sync and smoothframerate help alot like mrbkazoo said above.
Definately get the latest drivers first

I've tried all of the above. I'm even running the latest beta drivers in an effort to fix this, but no dice.
Just a hunch: did any of the others running into problems ever tweak the Mass Effect 3 profile in the Nvidia settings? I followed this performance guide (note that things ran great; even when using these tricks): http://www.geforce.c...-3-tweak-guide/
I have since tried to reset everything to default, but it makes no difference, so this might not have anything to do with it after all. Just asking.

Same here. Lag even in the menu screens. Haven't got a clue why.

Same problem here, but the lag comes after 10-15 minutes of gameplay since I have the EC DLC installed.

You guys have found any solution?
I've tried to update every driver, reinstall and fix every game related file, eliminating Origin cache, but the game is still unplayable. I had no such problems prior to EC, everything was smooth. Now the game not only is terribly slow, but also seems to tax my computer so much it overheats (this does not happen to any other game I have)!
Even simple menus take 1+ minutes to load, when just a few weeks ago it took less than 10 seconds.
Can someone from BW please at least tell me if this is an issue that's being looked into?
My Specs:
Windows Vista 32 bit
Intel Duo E6550 2,33 Ghz
2 Gb Ram
Asus EAH5670

As far as mine goes, the lag in the menu screen is due to it trying to connect to the EA servers. Presumably to validate the game. In the log file (located at C:\\ProgramData\\Electronic Arts\\EA Core\\logs - The ProgramData dir is hidden by default) there are all sorts of server connection errors. Maybe if some of these are sent to EA Tech Support they might be able to look into it.
It's just the number of times it tries connecting and the delay.
I have just gone into my user profile within Windows 7 - C:\\User\\AppData\\Local\\Origin\\ and there is a folder in there called Web Cache. Don't know what it is or does. But I copied it first and then went in and deleted all the files, about 600 of them!!
Now when I go into the game, it is at least faster than it was.
However, I have noticed a small file within C:\\User\\AppData\\Roaming\\Origin\\Cloud Saves called Blacklist, clicking on it opens the Mass Effect 2 Launcher???
Is anyone from EA or Bioware going to respond to the comments in this post. It only seems to have become an issue since Patch 1.3 was installed on mine.
My computer packed up and so I was playing on my husband's machine in my account so I'm just wondering if this has caused an issue with the licence or something.

After uninstalling and reistalling the game, clearing the cache like Carlina (BTW, thank you) said, and doing basic manteinance of my PC (cleaning fans, removing usless programs and the like), and reupdating drivers and such, the game is working again.
I hope this might help somebody with this same problems.
