That's great advise SheffSteel. I'll make sure that I use that. Now Creature 1, are you talking if the glich of not adding any extra damage exists in the Xbox version, or if that ony exists in the PC version. If is in the Xbox version, how would you recommend dealing with it? What endgame stats would you recommend?

No.

Your rogue's broke. Imagine your level 12 fighter with 24 strength. Would he kill anything either? No. He'd be a gooey mess wrapped in veridian scalemail every fight.

Go 2 Cun/1 Dex until you hit 36 Dex (or 32 if you're only going to wield daggers). Keep an eye on your pre-reqs and pump in extra Dex as needed to get the DW passives ASAP. Get Lethality at level 8 (screw locks, leave em for lvl 9). Once you've got 36 Dex switch to either 2 Con/1 Cun if you're going to wear light armor, 2 Str/1 Cun if you want to wear heavier armor, or 2 Con/1 Dex if you wanna be a glass cannon.

Get the dex hotfix (or just the daggers hotfix) if you want to dualy daggers. Otherwise dagger dmg doesn't WAD with dex.

My favorite Nightmare party consists of a dauly rogue PC, Leli respec'd dualy, Wynne and Morrigan spec'd CC. I giggle watching Leli and the PC gang up on the same target. I get them on opposite sides of eachother and agro will bounce between the two of them towards whoever got the last backstab. Never gets old! LOL

BTW - Rogue > Mage ANYDAY!  Look at all of Bio's past games - other than the BG's - they're all designed around a rogue-ish character in mind.

Edit:  Apparently, you're on the console.  The dex hotfix is included in the console versions AFAIK.  Too bad you can't respec - pair off with Zevran, I guess (it's more fun killing in the Maker's name, though...  LOL)

What is it? A patch for the Xbox? A player made mod? What does AFAIK stand for and what does it do? I need some details because I don't know ANYTHING about these types of things.

This is a PC mod to make daggers and bows use dex for damage, as was intended.

The XBox version of Dragon Age:Origins includes this fix, as far as I know.

Can anyone else confirm if this mod is on the Xbox versions, someone who has used actually tested this? I want to make sure before I begin because if it's not, then would it be better to increase str more than dex or cunning and use dual swords or axes? Or does cunning completely take over on determining damage when you get the talent?

With Lethality, Cunning replaces Strength for weapons that would use strength to boost their damage. So, yeah - axes, maces, swords, etc.

No need for the hotfix. The dex bug was corrected in 1.02.

Also, I'm not sure why everyone boasts about lethality. The way I see it, you only need 22 cunning for stealth and 20 str for the best armor. So you're effectively getting +1 dmg from lethality.

I'd suggest pouring the remaining pts straight into dex, which will boost attack, defense, and dmg. Cunning will add to armor penetration, but 22 cunning + telekinetic weapons should be enough, imo.

So, going on the Xbox version without all of those lovely patches, what you you recomend for endgame stats and at what level would you get which abilities? Also, what's some good endgame weapons and armor?

Since you've asked about strength, I would suggest a 20. With 20 you can wear the Shadow of the Empire set as soon as you can get to Orzammar, and then later you'll be able to wear the Felon's Coat, which is the top dps chest for a rogue, and you'll also be able to wear the Superior Drakeskin, which is extremely helpful for fighting dragons. Anything higher than a 20 is mostly wasted stat points, as no other armor offers better stats without serious fatigue issues.

As others have said, cunning will really replace strength as your damge modifier, so you are only using strength to get the armors. You'll be doing so much more damage with daggers that equipping strength based weapons will gimp you, plus there are plenty of daggers to find with multiple enchantment slots. Give yourself the enchantment with chance to paralyze - it will proc constantly and give you lots of free backstabs.

That is all.

Completely disagree. A rogue shouldn't have less than 50 Cunning at the endgame. The AP boost is particularly hot. My rogue can dance between raindrops with 36 base Dex (low 40ish with item bonuses, etc).

Besides, you need 30 Cun to open every lock and win every persuade.

I like to go to Soldier's Peak as early as possible so I can get the lowest tier Warden armor possible.  That requires 26 or 28 Str (I can't recall).  I just think the armor's sexeh! Posted Image

Well if you need 30 cun for every lock and conversation, then lethality is much more useful.  I didn't know that, so thanks for the tip... but then if you're wearing the wardens armor, then you're pushing your str up to 28, which again lessens the usefulness for lethality

After all, every pt spent in str that closes the gap with cunning is a pt that is not contributing to dmg.  Granted, wardens armor is super sexeh, as you say... it's a tough call.

All this min/maxing needs a dmg calculator!

For me, less min/max, more sexeh.

I can deal with 55 Cun instead of 63 at the endgame for a sexeh tradeoff. =D

I just have to say, PLEASE stop using the abbreviation CUN for cunning. My brain keeps thinking that it is . . . something else.

CNG = much less dirty. I hope.

well if you have your coercion maxed you most likely do qualify as a cunning linguist.
