So far, my feelings towards the EC are mostly positive. There are still some plot holes to be filled, some edges that could be polished and of course the still lingering question "Why didn't they do it right in the first place!?" But these things are only of minor importance, now that there's a chance for LI reunion and hope for the galaxy.
But while the credits rolled, there was a sour taste to it. They repeatedly said, that this will be the end of Shepard's story. Apart from maybe some pre-ending SP DLC, there's nothing that contains "my" Shep.
IF there is ever going to be a post-ending ME game (which at this point is in itself doubtful), it will likely not contain "our" Shep (at least if they stay true to what they said) and his friends/squaddies.
I don't like this prospect... Do you?
Right now, especially after this really more uplifting ending, there's nothing that I would find interesting about a ME game that features a completely different main character, be it customizable or default.
ME is mostly told through Shepard's life, it's the series' Unique Selling Point. Take that away and it becomes a lot less interesting. At least to me...
