The idea got ruined by changing lvl III consumables to uncommon. Now I can't even upgrade my gear. Bad move Bioware.

Veteran packs went from worthless to good to worthless again.

I don't think, getting XP basically for free without the need to actually play a class is the nature of an RPG. XP is a reward for playing a class, a measure of perfecting its skill. I'm OK with XP being primarily rewarded for actively using a certain class. Leveling can be quite fun and challenging. XP for free isn't.

And promoting for SP is in any case no longer needed as the EMS hast been lowered considerably and by now most those who promoted should have accumulated quite a stockpile of war assets anyway. I know I do, sitting on almost 15k alone from promoted N7 Special Ops teams...

They changed some of the rare characters on the manifest. Now you only need four cards for geth, male quarian, and ex-cerberus. Maybe they are planning on making some changes to them so they have fife slots? I would like to see a geth skin option or turret option for engineer. Another option would be to change the gold part on the ex-cerbs head. Also if anybody is confused the reinforcement changes are permenant and not just for this week. A few more cards and I'll have 5 maxed rare characters in no time thanks to these changes.

You do know, that instead of character cards you now get lvl III consumables, that were formerly almost exclusively reserved for the more expensive JEP, SP and PSP, right? The drop-rate for gear hasn't changed.

You do know, that instead of character cards you know get lvl III consumables, that were formerly reserved for the more expensive JEP, SP and PSP, right? The drop-rate for gear hasn't changed.


So in practice, I get less lvl 3 consumables than before and the gear remains hard to get.

You get more lvl 3 consumables (out of a Vet Pack) than before. As they now seem to have replaced the silver character cards once they've been maxed. From what I remember, lvl 3 consumables didn't drop regularly from Vet Packs at all before.

yep, for ppl who have maxed their silver characters, they should be as good as JEP (or even better, depending on the need for consumables) now, since you can still get gear and rare (and a very small chance for UR afaik) weapons out of them, plus lvl 3 consumables and the usual medi-gel / rockets for less credits.

Not a patch, just a change in the store-system. Haven't you read the start post from Jessica??

Nice changes, really nice. I got one of those packs before reading this thread, thought the consumables was gears =( I was having problem to get consumables without buying jumbo packs, and I was having too much training cards (I promoted soldier, played some golds with adepts, few packs later the soldier was almost 20, without playing). I like to level up by myself. Know I will get powerful consumables and less training stuff ^^ Thanks Bioware, good solution..

I hope they add now new rare consumables, maybe some stuff that affect the whole squad (like BF3).

I wish there was a little bit of clarification.
Will we not see any of the new lvl 4 gear until we max all of our rare characters?
Or will we simply see lvl 4 gear in place of a previously maxed character?
I'm hoping for the former as I'd love to finally get my GI. This possibly increases my odds.

Thank you Bioware. This was my biggest problem with the game. Playing the game for an hour just to get enough credits for a spectra pack and the all you get is character cards you already maxed. It was a very off putting system to the game and I notice the difference already. Hope to see more improvements in the future

I bought another map pack. This time instead of kroguard three times. I got LvL 4 ammo for incindiary and cryro. Its a big relief for me I've seen enough aliens to fill a galaxy.

So does this increase my odds of getting characters I don't have yet since they "drop out" or does it give me ammo when I otherwise would've gotten a maxed card?

Love them even more if this increase my odds of finally getting a GI!

So does this mean that we get no character cards at all now? Or that all of the CC's we get will be blue or silver? I didn't have a problem with CC drops, but I was starting to have issues with not getting enough ammo packs, so I'm glad that will be fixed.

Been scanning this thread and couldn't see confirmation, so apologies if this has been answered. Does anyone know if these Level IV ammo mods are like the gear mods (ie can be reused) or are they use once only?

I don't know why you would think they were gear... I would assume no. Look at your manifest they're lumped with all the other ammo, not in the gear section.

Same here but for batarian soldier and a couple other misc classes I don't have.
