Many just ask to keep both ammo and characters with 50% chance to get either one of the 2.

There's been a lot of talk about the chances of getting gear/ weapons not having changed. Is this based on anything? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall level 3 ammo being silver before this change. The level depended on the pack but they were all blue cards.

If the new system means you have X uncommon cards in a pack, but these could equally be characters, weapons, gear, or newly-uncommon ammo upgrdes the actual chance of getting gear (i.e. permanent) upgrades will be less. The same will be true for golds; if you only get 2 gold cards in a pack, but 1 could be a single-use ammo upgrade (which previously would have taken up one of the blue cards, level set by pack type) you will actually have less chance of permanent weapon or gear upgrades.

Some clarification from BioWare would be useful here (HINT, HINT....).

Sorry if I've missed this; haven't slavishly read the whole 23 pages!

I didn't realize the changes were live on the 360, but I have a shopping problem and spent 500k on psp, ps, and recruit packs last night after I promoted all my characters. Though I did get a few asari adept cards to knock up the class to lvl 9, I was getting a ton of weapon/mod/gear upgrades like never before! Maybe it was just bad luck with the store in the past, but usually with a psp I would get 3 consumables, and two cc/gear/weapon cards. Last night I was getting 1 consumable and two non-rare weapon/mod upgrades that I still was lacking. I do have better weapons, but it was nice that I finally upgraded my mattock past 1! It was the best night of pack buying for me!
I had been getting bored with this MP, especially since a lot of my friends stopped playing because of the skyrim dlc. Now, I am highly motivated to play a lot tonight and see if this hot streak of awesomeness continues for me!

I've just opened two PSP and found four incendiary ammo IV. I think i should be happy not to find CC, but i'm not. I maxed out rare weapons and characters, but the chances of getting ultra-rares are still the same. I'm losing all my intrest in playing MP, what's the meaning of spending 99k credits to find just some f***ing ammos?

I believe this to be true. I was buyind some Vetern packs in hopes of upgrading the uncommon gear and all I got was ammo cards. So basically, instead of getting XP for classes to make promotions faster, now you get 1 time use ammo cards instead meaning not all much as really changed. The store will just troll with ammo cards now instead of character cards since now they have a rarity associated with him instead of just pack association.

That sucks, no more character cards. Its not a joke I'm serious. I liked the character cards to level up when I promoted everyone. It was nice.

Just not gold character cards.

Well, I spent about 500,000 credits. Got some silver cards that granted lvl 3 ammo, weapon or armor bonuses. I have all the silver character cards filled out and two of my classes were at lvl 20.

Also got some "human" character cards for higher exp, though only for classes that were not at lvl 20 yet. I noticed the same exp bonus for silver cards so it makes me wonder.

I *did* get a card for a class at lvl 20, but it was the Quarian Male Engineer. A card that I had not unlocked yet.

So it looks like you're still getting exp if you have a class below lvl 20, which is what some of the people asking for it to be changed back seem to want. Otherwise... you seem to get an ammo/weapon/armor item at 1 lvl higher than otherwise. Still looking through the threads to find someone from bioware to confirm, but that's my guess.

Hm. I'll have to make a splurge when I have all 6 classes at lvl 20 and see what happens.

If you want character cards for leveling up, then buy the cheap recruit packs!
You will level up EVEN FASTER than before!

Because you still get the blue common human cards and they now give you 62500XP each, which means instead of paying 60,000 for a Spectre Pack and getting 1 gold CC with 250,000XP, now for the same money you buy 12 Recruit packs giving you 12 x 62,500XP = 750,000XP, so 3x as much!

I completely agree with that. Getting ultra rares more often as a reward after characters, weapons etc are maxed out is essential to keep motivation to play MP. I am also feeling like losing interest in MP because PSP packs are wasted. I dont care level4 ammo bonuses etc, I usually play without any ammo or  armor bonuses (bonuses don't matter much at gold level, it's team cooperation that mattes much more).

You have all your rare guns maxed, so you either get cc that you haven't maxed or ammo type IV and the occasional Ultra-Rare. But the Reinforcement Pack change did not change the drop-rate for UR, so it'll take you a while to max them. Just like before the change.

Probably get a lot of booing for this, but why not have all the equipment persist like the "bonus" equipment? Instead of all the one time use upgrades, convert it into something that you set up when you boot up MP, change between missions if you want, but otherwise, once you have gotten something from a pack, it is available. Understand the temp nature of medigel, rockets, etc, but why ammo, armor/shield and weapon mods? Would save a lot of hassle between matches (or as is currently the case, mostly don't use them except on silver or gold).

I have found it nice to have the new cons to help my lvl 1's out. There is balance in the new stuff, it seems a lot of you are just putting on the blinders because you are to concerned with your n7 rank. If you can't hang with a lvl 1 maybe candy land is a better game for you, you can make your own rules :P .

And then you upgraded garbage one mission gear upgrades to take the place of good stuff in order to keep getting us garbage.

60k or 99k is too much for one maybe two ammo things
It needs to be perhaps a set of all level 4 ammo types or a +3 on anything in the gold card

one is just too little as one game can't even buy a PSP much less those playing silver

I miss 28 pieces of uncommon gear, I bought only veteran packs and 1 specter pack from the change and did not get a single piece, while beore the change I had a ratio of 3 pieces of gear every 5 packs.
In the specter I found medigels + 4 consumables, 3 level III and 1 level IV
This is crap, and I still have to unlock the Vorcha Soldier.
Also, from 1 month I didn't get a single N7 in PSPs.
