I am not too sure if there was enough in-house testing to actually verify that the Random Number Generator (RNG) drop rate for the rares or ultra rares were severely affected as a result of the new changes to the Spectre Packs and Premium Spectre Packs.

Prior to the change I was unlocking more weapons faster, but it seems that now that there are several rare Ammo IV consumables, the chance of us getting a Rare Weapon upgrade is less because there is more items that the RNG must calculate and thus it lowers your chance of getting an Rare or Ultra rare weapon. At least that is my observation.

Just look at the math involved:

Say you have 10 rare items, that is a 1 in 10 chance of getting the weapon you want.

What happens when you add 5 Ammo IV Rares in there?

Your chance of getting the Rare Weapon you want is now 1 in 15.

Yes the Ammo IV has replaced the Character training, but has it changed it in a way that the chances of rare weapons and ultra rare weapons has been reduced?

If it has been affected, there should be some more QA testing involved and compare before the change what the drop rate is based on say 1000 Premium Spectre Packs and after the update test it again 1000 times to see if the drop rate for Rare Weapons and Ultra Rare weapons remains the same.

I think if the drop rate for weapons has been reduced after the update, it should be inspected so that the drop rate stays the same for weapons before and after.

That would be fair.

I think people don't want to have a higher chance or a lower chance of getting a rare or ultra rare weapon.

But what they do want is for the chance of getting that rare weapon or ultra rare weapon to remain the same in either case... because that would be fair.

I really, REALLY dislike the way you've implemented uncommon/rare ammo powers.

For shop design like ME3, in a game like ME3, that option GUARANTEES I will buy no points for MP gear.

You want me to spend $1 of REAL money and have a 70% chance of getting something that MIGHT be somewhat useful for 20-25 minutes, assuming I use a character that is dependent on ammo powers.

Are you insane?  Or are you just EA?

Am right there with you dude. I have stopped buying packs all together. Im hoping they will fix it and will have tons of credits to spend at that time. Up to 1.8 million right now.

The good thing is that the IV consumable gear, its useful on gold, you can see a mob melting when you use incendiary IV. But... a premium pack isn't worth buying, if you only going to obtain ammo >.>!

Bioware should REALLY put the option to sell the things that we DON'T need on the store. I've like 20+ SMG consumables and I never use SMG. So please Bioware, put the option to sell stuff on the store :)!

Selling items you don't use would be a great idea, but it should have a reduced price. You should not get a full refund.

It should be 33% of what it cost and you lose 66% of total price when you purchased the item.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the rumor Earth DLC with those 3 new weapons and what not human character classes, cuz man, if I'm just gotta spend it all for something, it might as well be something meaningful. Unless they boost up the chances for Ultra Rare, nah I'm not interested. Even then I'll still wait for the new DLC. Who has the time to go on all those gold runs, might as well make it count.

i belive  (the hugher article lower in the page - and not the version where sum1 quoted it and edited this quote (... ), what then also was copied and quoted by sum1 else again (... )).

I have unlocked all Uncommon weapons to level X and Rares to level X but the Premium Spectre Packs out of the 10 I opened today all were Ammo IV consumables and only 1 rare Gear Bonus

I don't  think  they care.  I cannot even figure out why they borked it as bad as it is right now. 

Do they not understand RNG?  Do they want us to get mad and stop purchasing stuff, or playing this game? 

Why is it necessary to lie, tell us about getting better content and stuffs, when they basically removed the items we wanted, like bonus equipment?  I don't care about level 4 ammo.  Is a dime store joke.

Why are they having us spent 99,000 creds and getting total junk for it?  Explain to me how this is premium spectre gear for the elite operative, when all you get is trash.

They sure were in a hurry to shove this new bonus gear and all out - and then make sure we can't get all of it.  Then they just sit there quietly laughing.

im still wondering when they will start honoring their bi weekly challenges. 6 times ive completed squad goals. twice ive actually received commendation packs. 2/6. not a very good ratio.

Wow, i'm so glad i'm not the only one. I HATE the new rare IV ammo. A rare slot should not go to a consumable.


As with many here, I've stopped buying packs until this is fixed.

5. I start playing silver for fun only .

Overall:
   * no reason to buy packs - (maybe only if running out of medigel)
   * no reason to get more credits - possibly a good impact on playing just for fun
   * reasons to play for fun only, and try other games too.

About 1 week after the change.....
Good part : managed to max out the characters so I am not getting them anymore:

Bad part(s):
1. Haven't seen a ultra-rare since then. I maxed out the rare weapons and I was starting to get a lot of ultra-rares before the change.
2. I don't get too many gear bonuses, uncommon or rare. Surprisingly, since I maxed out everything else. I get instead lots of ammo, single use, which are kind of useless, or may save you 1-2 minutes in a gold game.
3. Overall the many packages I opened since the change brought me very little satisfaction. A 99000 credits PSP with ammo/armour rares last about 1 gold game, which brings you only 70000ish credits. Feels like a waste, so better stock up the rare ammo.

N7's? UR's ?

I have a Sabre (LVL II ); Eagle ( LVL II ); a BW, which I've had since the second week of release --  it's still level ONE.

Most of the UR's I have, I've had for near 3 months, and they sit there, overweight, mediocre damage and characteristics at best  -  with the dream of greatness somewhere off in the horizon, ( maybe 2 years from now the way those %$## packs work?)

I mean, incendiary IV is nice and all ( thanks) but I think you missed the point when you say you've been 'listening'??

The best  for the best in the Galaxy.

Almost wanted to get some bioware points to make acquiring the PSPs faster,,

But after my experience with the "new" changes, i'm glad i held back

I'm so not going to spend 240 points just to get some rare ammo...

Heck, even my PSPs now are getting less weapons than normal....

Well yesterday I promoted all my teams to level one, so since yesterday and today, been going at it non-stop. I have bought no end of spectre packs and Psp's, what did I get? yep you guessed nothing but ammo IV. I have had it, you would think maybe you would get just one UR from all the time ive spent in the past 2 days, but no. I think the store is a complete farce. I was tempted to purchase bioware points to get some UR's but after these past few days, no way. I spent to much time on MP, time for a break and look at other things to pass my time.
