all my buddys from me3 and me (jah, sounds funny...) where playing the me3-multiplayer "almost restless" for months - that changed a few days after the reinforcement-pack change.
now it is a whole week ago that i last played it, and not by intention - i just recognised that i lost interest in playing with almost never any of the rewards still to go to expect - but consumables !!instead!! [end quote]
Same...but sooner. I played so many hours and loved it but every single person I squaded with -- night after night-- have lost interest because of the useless crap PSP's spit out and the lack of EA/bioware to change it. It's a shame I enjoyed the game.
Add in the INF nerf, all the other ridiculous nerfings and 'balances' -- you've lost a lot of players.
So much was well done. But the lack of EA/Bioware to offer a solution to the packs ( a machine at spawn point?? or somewhere in the lobby...whatever...that allows you to actually upgrade what you WANT...? is that so hard? Just like the campaign??) has meant the loss of every single person I played with regularly.

What I can't seem to understand - is there actually like a... plot device that justify a RANDOM (not even reward) gift box system? What in the world justifies a military's decision to wrap a Black Widow in one pack while another operative can pay 99000 credits for single use items?
I didn't play ME1 and ME2, maybe someone can enlighten me if I'm missing a story element here.
As for this, look up the 'Skinner box' principle in videogames.
The randomness of the rewards in a pack is what keeps you playing. You might not realize it, you might even think it's frustrating, you might think you will be better off being able to buy exactly the items you want. But deep inside your lizard brain, the impulse to keep playing and keep gathering credits is fueled by the random chance for a reward. Without it, you will very quickly lose interest in the game. Simply imagine now that you had all the guns and characters available and maxed out. What would you do? Why would you even play?
Then you might say things like: because it's fun. Because I like the ME3 combat system. Because I like playing with other races in the Mass Effect universe.
Well, if those are your real reasons to play the game, why are you complaining about the randomness of the store?

I keep getting the common Human Female Sentinel character card in my Spectre packs, despite having maxed that one out ages ago. Anyone else have this problem?
Even if you max out everything in the game (all ultra-rare guns, characters -- everything) you will still receive the 62,500 character cards occasionally in Spectre packs. If you don't want to receive any character cards at all, I recommend JEPs and PSPs.

Nothing in this process should change the chance of getting an ultra-rare.

Character cards at least encouraged those that were playing to promote to continue playing. Ammo IV consumables are a joke. PSPs are little more than three-times-as-expensive Jumbo Equipment Packs now.Hejdun wrote...
The point is to replace wholly pointless rewards (character cards) with a somewhat useful reward.
I haven't used a consumable (other than medi-gels and rockets) in at least a month. Experienced players do not need them.
But to each their own.

I quite liked the "big XP" character cards.
What it comes down to is the real reason that people (not me) were complaining (and still are) are the low UR drop rates. They blamed Character Cards for not getting URs and are now blaming consumables for not getting UR (and Gear) drops. So they replaced one worthless (according to some) item in SP & PSPs with another worthless (according to some) item.
After my initial disappointment that Bioware caved in and pretended to change things by doing the above -- I now just find all of the whining and complaining humorous. That and I hope those that complained about character cards, take far longer than it would have (before Bioware caved and pretended to fix things) to get the items that they desire.

Uncommon gear doesn't unlock either.

The point is that the whole reward system broke, not only UR.

True, I'm not getting those either... Totally zero!
I want it all changed back... It's no fun anymore, my credits go to waste...I'm not buying any packs and promoting doesn't seem like fun anymore... I don't know why I play anymore, I sure as hell don't like it anymore like the way I did before (playing at least 8 hours on my days off)...

38 psp's = 0 ultra rares, 2 rare gears. 1 common CC(WTF you still get these?) 3 uncommon gears.
21 SP's = 1 UR, 2 rare gears, 3 common CC, 2 uncommon gears.
5,06 mill credits total tally = 1 UR, 4 rare gears, 4 common CC's 5 uncommon gears... Your RNG is a disgusting piece of scheisse it was mediocre at launch, bad after the first DLC but lately it has been just FUBAR. i spent 30€ on BW points, figuring i would support the company for giving us the free DLC's i did not know BW would misuse peoples trust like this, i aint spending a single dime on BW products ever again >_< oh and for the record, all the BW points i spent on packs = 0 UR's so i dont think theres even a higher chance to get them if you buy the packs with BW points(just letting people who think that way know this). But yeah, spending any money on your products has become rather pointless now if it already was not the case before.

The update changed Gear so they now have a chance to drop in the "guaranteed" slots of Veteran and higher packs. (Previously, the only time they would drop is if the RNG decided to give you an Uncommon/Rare drop in the second-to-last slot before the guaranteed slot.) However, the odds of getting a Gear drop are still pretty darn small (33% or less in a guaranteed slot, according to a statistical record I've been keeping so far. Possibly as low as 10% or less in the random slot.)
i am getting more gears in veteran packs than PSP's or SP's credit spentvise. about 2:1 or 2½:1 ratio compared to SP's and closer to 3½:1 vs PSP's

Other than that it is s***, can't max out my rare or uncommon gears!!
UR's you spend 5mil creds get zero! This is a jacked system that needs to be fixed to where if you have maxed stuff you get UR's then you get lv4 ammo!

On a side note, I do like getting ammo powers more than CCs, but it just seems like they are dropping even more than CCs ever did. Which to me is very discouraging.
