What I mean is, when the Starkid was tasked with coming up with a solution to the problem of "organics vs synthetics", he turned his creators into the Reapers in their old image. The Leviathan seems to from that race, but he was not changed by the Starkid.Geneaux486 wrote...

Apparently the Leviathan in this DLC is a Reaper before the Starkid made his creators...well...Reapers.
Where are you getting that info? Doesn't seem like there were Reapers before the Catalyst made Harbinger.
Well if the Leviathan is a Reaper, then it probably was changed by the Catalyst, but maybe something unique about the species it was based on gave it the capability to rebel. I have a similar theory to explain why Sovereign was such an ***hole in the first game, that some things that make each species unique are still preserved in the Reapers' more basic functions.

Actually, what the file seems to say is, that Leviathan is the Reaper created from the very species that created the Star Child..which, in turn, turned on them and made them into reapers. The Star Child says that its creators were made into the very first Reaper. Harbinger is one of the oldest, but not the very first.
As far as plausability of a rogue Reaper: if Leviathan is made as the very first Reaper, the Star Child has an oudipal reaction towards it, so that it cannot control it. It could harvest them and turn them into a Reaper, but outright control is not something its AI psychology could do. As Control-Shepard, you have no such oudipal reaction towards Leviathan, and therefore, you can control it, where the Star Child could not.

I see. The Codex does speculate Harbinger to be the oldest Reaper, but then it also stated that the Citadel and Mass Relays were build by the Protheans once upon a time, so we know it's fallible. Actually I hope you're right, because that sounds like a really interesting story. It'd be like meeting the grandpa reaper or something. Hopefully we get to ask it a lot of questions.
Shepard: So what was it like becoming a Reaper? Must have hurt to be melted alive and processed a million times over like that.
Leviathan: Well, there's an old inside joke among us Reapers, that everyone's first word is always "Ouch." followed by "Okay seriously? I mean I get what's going on now, but still, not ****ing cool."

I've always felt that BW has left the field open to new endings via DLC... They've said that ME3 is a complete game with a beginning, middle and an end, but they, AFAIK, have never said explicitly that there would never be new endings added in the future.Samuel_Valkyrie wrote...
As some of you may have seen, the Extended Cut DLC has content that hints at new DLC, DLC that might involve the original creators of the Reapers/Catalyst.
In case this is news, here's the thread:
http://social.biowar.../index/12777408
Now, the Extended Cut inserts new dialogue in a number of places, for instance the conversation with the Star Child, that very slightly touch on this subject. As I said, the Star Child mentions the original creators, and that they have been turned into the very first Reaper. This could mean nothing, with ut just being extra padding, or it could be an intentional link to this rumored DLC.
Suppose the following: You buy the new DLC. You get new information. Maybe buy the next DLC, and the third one as well. Each hands you new information about the Reapers. And if you have all the pieces of information, so, all the paid DLC, the Refusal ending changes from Annihilation of the Cycle to succesfully convincing the Catalyst to stop.
However, you HAVE to buy the DLC to get this option.
How would you feel about this? Would you buy the DLC? Would you refuse on principle? Or would you just like the fact that there is more story-DLC, more gameplay, and not give a damn about any potential new ending?
Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut represents the definitive version of the endings to the Mass Effect trilogy, and the final resolution of Commander Shepard’s journey. We have no plans to release further content related to the endings.

- There'll be an asteroid involved and apparently some kind of under water segments possibly.
- Looks like there will be a choice deciding if Ann lives or dies during the mission. Yay for more expendable characters.
- Lots of harvesters to fight.
- Freeing people indoctrinated over a ten year period.
Also hilarious Liara line?
"I don't want any tentacled creature inside your mind... except me."

BioWare's statement does not rule out the possibility of extra content ALREADY hidden away in the EC.
1: This isn;t so much Bioware, as a Community Coordinator from Bioware.
2: Phrasing aside, intent of the statement is "this is it, we're not doing anything more, this is final". Whether that turns out to be true, remains to be seen, but as far as Tully knows, these are the facts.

If you read the leaked dialogue you will see Shepard's name over and over again.

No, it links back to events occuring in ME1 is what they are saying. It takes place in the now, during ME3. That is, if it is actual DLC. Don't forget, Tali has files pertaining to her being romancable by a female Shepard. It seems likely that it is actual DLC< but so far, it is still just a rumor.garrusfan1 wrote...
