Leviathan (of Dis?) DLC - Leaked dialogue in EC files [SPOILERS]
#626
Posté 27 juin 2012 - 08:00
So, I've been looking through the main game's TLK file to find something about the Leviathan.
It is mentioned 3 times: Descritpion of Jartar, conversation with Balak and conversation with Jondun Bau..
It says:
Right, the Leviathan of Dis. I've got my own sources.
I'm pretty sure that Shepard says "The batarians had Reaper technology?" which is right under the line with Leviathan.
Or maybe Shepard says that if you finished the quest with Balak first, but I don't remember that.
Thoughts?
hanar diplomat side quest .hanar used the codes to bring down his home worlds defenses .the hanar home world that might be fun to watch them go nut’s over porthy .

I know where it is from. I wanted to know if Shepard says that line about Leviathan.
If not, then it might be triggered by completing the DLC and we have a confirmation that Leviathan = Leviathan of Dis.

One side I´m interested on this, on the other if it isn´t going to affect the ending(s) I really don´t care.
None of ME2's DLCs affected its ending, why should ME3's be any different?

So I've been looking through the files of EC and found something very interesting. If you convert the DLC_Shared_INT.tlk file using ME2 TLK Tool (social.bioware.com/project/3492/) to XML you can read stuff suggesting that there will be a DLC about Leviathan of Dis.
You can read it here: pastebin.com/rHzNDedX
The stuff about DLC starts somewhere in the middle.
Spoilers obviously..
How did you open the EC files? I already have a vague idea on how we could mod the ending if we can get at the cinematic files...
As for the DLC stuff, sounds very interesting, i wouldnt be surprised if Bioware put that in there on purpose to give fans something to drool over to try and anesthetise their rage.

ME2's DLC aren't major story components, barring LotSB and Arrival, and those two are canonized after the suicide mission.

Judging from that data, I propose such explanation.
1. Lethian is first reaper. He was created by race, who made Catalyst.
I have studied your human religions, Commander--your "Devil" and his fall. Leviathan and its kind deserve the same fate.
They once unleashed a plague that has haunted all of our history to this day
I say their own hell is the abyss you found them in... one I hope they never escape from.
.
Leviathan is the race that created the reapers, it's pretty much stated right there. The Reaper talk looks to be _before_ you find that out

If this DLC really is still in the works (hopefully it wasn't scrapped) and would be released at some point, I would most definitely buy it - with the EC now and the changes/additions made to the Catalyst's dialogue, I'm now a lot more interested in learning about the Reapers' origin and creators and if this DLC provides more infomation on that, I'm game (especially if its dealing with a rouge Reaper who's fighting his own kind and that you could possible recruit as a war asset).
That's not possible - the "Hanar" sidequest with Jondun Bau ends after the "Priority: Tuchanka" main quest to cure the Genophage, while the "Batarian codes" sidequest doesn't start unto after the Citadel Coup mission ends.ULT1M4T3xPL wrote...

But what would a rogue Reaper that kills its own kind do after the Reaper threat has been dealt with though?

on the BioGame/DLC folder you should have the DLC_CON_END folder, then inside it a CoockedPCConsole folder with Default.sfar, with 1.9 GB Unpack it with either gibbed or Me3Explore and you can see the tlk files. Also look at the bik files, they have the ending movies.

Unfortunately, there was little time to study and uncover the true nature of this mysterious find. Not long after its discovery by a batarian survey team, a batarian dreadnought visited the Dis System, after which the Leviathan mysteriously disappeared. The batarians have since strenuously denied that the Leviathan existed at all. They become even more vocal when shown documentation of the Leviathan by salarian researchers before its disappearance.
“There won't be an Earth left to save...” — Spoilers for Mass Effect 3 follow.
Provided he survived the events of Bring Down the Sky, Balak will tell Shepard that the Leviathan was actually an inactive Reaper which ended up indoctrinating most of the system when the scientists accidentally reactivated it. Afterwards they infiltrated and sabotaged the Hegemony's defenses opening the way for the Reaper invasion of their territory.

I'm saying it pretty much confirms that the DLC is about Leviathan of Dis and not some other Reaper called Leviathan

And the leviathan of dis is revealed by Balak to be a Reaper "corpse". The chances are pretty high of it being a Reaper.
