I'm not sure how likely it is that these are "left over" when they were just added in EC, which technically wasn't supposed to exist in the first place. Seems to me they're just adding "hooks" for the future DLC early.

I thinks called place holding, it's what they did for Javik before.

It could be that these dialogue fragments were put in by Bioware on purpose to get us interested in future DLC but it is more likely an oversight. Then again, they know what we’re like, they know that the second we get our hands on new content we crack it open to find out if there is anything hidden.

Didn't the Catalyst say something about the Reapers being modelled on his creators? And that the original Reaper resented it's new form?

Did he actually say something like that, or was it the painkillers talking to me again?

This is a bit late, but if you want the exact dialogue:

Catalyst: "The Reapers are a synthetic representation of my creators."
Shepard: "And what happened to your creators?"
Catalyst: "They became the first true Reaper. They did not approve, but it was the only solution."

My friend linked me the article last night - kept thinking that maybe this rebel/rogue Reaper is the first true Reaper, but who knows. It would make for interesting DLC in any case.

This is interesting to note that a possible reaper was flying about (Stated in the Cerberus Daily News Report) Mentioned before we even heard of "Arrival" DLC some 3 months later.

11/30/2010 - Survivor Claims Massive Starship Destroyed Mining Fleet

“Earlier today, the Migrant Fleet rescued an Eldfell-Ashland Energy employee drifting through the Nubian Expanse in a lifepod. Navigator Camilla Gutierrez, the only survivor of the MSV Stanislaw, says that quarians had nothing to do with the attack that stranded her: "The ship's silhouette was just massive. There's no way the quarians had that monster in their Flotilla. I've never seen anything like it." Asked about the attack itself, Gutierrez reported, "They blew out our engines before we knew what hit us. Smoke was everywhere. I heard the captain yell something about boarders before he ordered us to the lifepods." Eldfell-Ashland says it is relieved Gutierrez was recovered, but that the Citadel investigation should continue "until all parties involved are satisfied."”

Don't dismiss it, guys. This is legit. You have to develop the ability to fish through all the crap online to find what seems most legit. I can't wait for this...unless it's just canceled DLC.

Has there been anything released for this game that wasn't leaked at one point? The Prothean, the demo, both map packs, the scripts, now this.

I highly doubt the DLC is cancelled. This dialogue seems to be stuff they recorded along with the EC and didn't have the time to take everything out of the file so as not to be leaked. All of these hooks seem reminiscent of the Javik hooks in the main game. So glad they are doing this, so the squadmates talk unlike ME2 DLC.

Yeah? Well, what's your take on "Mass Effect: Terminator"?

Parts of it seem legit, and parts of it don't. Not to mention that BioWare actually commented on "Terminator" saying "It's fake," even though they have stated that they don't comment on rumors or speculation. Very suspect, if you ask me.

I hate how incredibly intriguing this sounds because it's entirely irrelevant at this point. This is something that should have been done in the series leading up to the ending. Obviously, we know how the game ends, so there's nothing to gain by trying to recruit a reaper to help.

The plus side is, we could see the first species that ascended.

Oh, whoops, which leak are we talking about? I was talking about the dialogue files in the EC.

My only question is: will this or any future dlcs take place prior ME3 ending? And will they affect the ending itself (highly unlikely imo)?

I'd say all future content will be placed prior to the end, but it'd be really odd to have encountered a traitorous Reaper, something incredibly unusual, and not have it mentioned during the conversation with the Catalyst.

The EC dlc proves that they can make additions and changes to the game based on new content. If Leviathan is a reaper that we can reqruit and was a significant enough asset they could add something to the end to disscuss it.

They'll likely do what they did with the DA2 DLCs and have the VAs record lines for 2 (or if we include EC, 3) DLCs all on the same day

Yeah, I bet the squad recorded stuff for the Leviathan DLC already. Raphael Sbarge tweeted about 2 four-hours sessions and what Kaidan says in EC (means 3 sentences) definitely didn't take 8 hours to record, I don't belive it lol

Would also sorta explain why the EC took so long to lauch. Because they first also wanted to have the writing done for some future dlc so they could record everything in one day.

That'd make perfect sense. Ablate the finanicial and time costs of the EC with time involved for the paid DLC stoof.

Something I'm not getting here: the Alliance News Network posts that lead up to the release of ME3 were mostly about the sudden lockdown and subsequent evac of Khar'shan and the Harsa System

If that's so, how and why would a rogue Reaper facilitate the taking of the Hegemony and all that it would mean?

Adding that to Balaks comments it just doesn't quite add up for me. Image IPB

It might have not been "awake" yet. Remember the derelict Reaper still had the ability to indoctrinate the Cerberus scientists even though it was considered dead.

That's a good point, but how would that tie in to some being fully indoctrinated ala Balaks convo - he mentions they intensify the study of the Reaper after Arrival, and the destruction of the Relay -  and some being indoc'd for 10 years, in what seems to be a very different way? Two types of indoctrination from one Reaper? Seems... odd.

How can they fit this in mid-game? What purpose will it have on the ending, seeing as TullyAucklund said that there will be NO more DLC in regards to the ending.

I'm intrigued but dumbfounded as to how they would make this work.

Refusal ending might end better, if Leviathan appears to be a force-to- be reckoned with. A full-out EMS Brawl against the Reapers, which alot of people would like.
